HERNANDEZ CONCRETE CONSTR

Work began on Friday for a supposed 1-day job. Hernandez did not order concrete in time to be delivered that day, so job was delayed until following Tuesday. On Tuesday, crew was scheduled early morning, but owner did not show up until nearly 2:00 pm, leaving crew to camp on my lawn for six hours. In that time, one of the crew stole some fruit off my Key Lime tree - I saw it in his car (front seat). Concrete showed up at noon and sat in the truck until owner showed up. The driver told me he would have to leave soon as the concrete was getting to old to pour satisfactorily. When owner showed up, patio was poured by nearly 7:00 pm that day. Crew returned next day remove forms. By that time, I discovered there were 4 low spots where water accumulated. The owner told me it would not be a problem, and one of the crew said it could be repaired. I paid owner 75% of bid, and told him I would pay the rest after the repair. He said he would return after a week or so to repair. I explained that he didn't have to, because I would sweep the accumulated water by sweeping every time it rained and save the 25% - his choice. After talking with other concrete construction companies, it was determined that only way to repair correctly was to remove and replace the entire patio. It now has been a month, and there has been no response from Hernandez. Cleanup was never done - my lawn is full of concrete rocks, there is sprayed concrete on my brick house and on screens and windows. I have not been able to remove it, using a wire brush! I would not hire this company again. His work was sloppy, unprofessional, and unorganized.
