I have used Cole air conditioning for 20 years and spent thousands of dollars with multiple brand new units and periodic service. I will never use them again and hope that the information I provided will convince you to call another company. I tried to work this out with Judy Cole, yes her name is on the door, without success and was very disappointed given their supposed commitment to customer service. And all over a $200 service call. If that’s all a valued customer means to them, then this is not a place you want to do business with in my humble opinion.

It went fine. The cost may be misleading because this installation was subsidized by Oncor. Cole completely explained the program to me and handled all the rebates. I've used Cole for 15 years for my annual service plan and they have always been courteous, professional and responsive. The only reservation I have about this particular installation is the wiring that connects the air handler to the compressor. It was not installed in a very hidden or discreet way. It runs through my garage and while they got it nailed down fairly well, its loose in places (not secured against the wall), and I sometimes wonder if it might get caught on something I or may boys are moving in the garage and get compromised. But this is a lake house with all kinds of imperfections, so I've let it slide.
Description of Work: Complete HVAC replacement.

Wes called me 20 minutes ahead of meeting me at the property, was there when I arrived. He crawled through a very difficult attic (narrow passage due to cathedral ceiling) to get to the heat pump. Showed me the burned connections, and that the installer had used the wrong size wire nut. Several inches of melted / burned-up copper wiring. This could have caused the house to burn down, and I was grateful that the problem was corrected in time. No charge for parts, just labor. Worth EVERY penny, and will definitely use Cole again.
Description of Work: Found dangerously burned wiring on the attic heat pump. Re-wired it. Restored functionality, heating was restored.

I had to have them come several times for the same problem with the fridge. Seems that the repairman, Travis, was not really as familiar with either my brand or what the real problem was. In fact, he took apart the fridge, defrosted the freezer compartment, then moved a wire to heat it so it wouldn't freeze up, but then my icemaker quit working. I'm sure it was related. So then when I called them about this, instead of fixing the root problem, they just charged me to replace the icemaker! A few months later, my dripping inside fridge started again... dripping. So called again, and he came and did the same thing - this time they did not charge me, which was nice, and he made the same type of 'repair'. But in a few months, it was back dripping again. Problem with fridge was never solved. Finally called another company. Coles expertise is Maytag, and related companies that Maytag owns. If you have other brands, they may not be the best to call. They only have one Appliance man. He is really good at A/C units and such though - and they do try to make you happy.
