Andrew did a great job for us. I can not fault any technical aspect of his work. He was really a pleasure to work with. He had some great innovative ideas, and excellent design sense. I am writing this to share with any potential future customers that they should really watch the sub contractors used by Andrew if any are required for your job. Over the past year and a half, I have spent many thousands of dollars in tile, granite and electrical repairs since this initial work was done three years ago. All of which was needed to correct serious structural problems, the biggest of which involves the concrete foundation which was poured for this work. I just received another multi-thousand dollar estimate this morning for more tile repair, which is my motivation for writing this report. Since installation, the concrete foundation has cracked dramatically (one half inch wide cracks in the tile) in many places. Much of the beautiful ceramic tile which Andrew laid has also cracked and now needs replacement (because of the underlying concrete) . We invested in several expensive tile centerpiece designs, these are now cracking too. The granite counter top has come away from its support wall, some of the granite has cracked because the whole outdoor kitchen is moving about. Electrical light fixtures have stopped working because the wires have pulled away and snapped. In short, what was a magnificent outdoor kitchen three years ago is now an expensive disaster, not because of Andrew directly, but because of the sub contractors used to pour concrete, install the electrical work and granite. I don?t have the names of the others or I would submit an appropriate report. Regarding the ?C? grade for quality. The railing used for the second story porch railing was not suitable for Texas weather. It is badly worn, and basically crumbling to the touch along the top railing cap. I am not sure if Andrew or a sub did the work up there. I have not asked Andrew to come back and fix any of this on his own, because I don?t think he is directly responsible. I have communicated these problems to him via email however. Bottom line, Andrew himself will do great work for you. But keep a close eye on anyone else who becomes part of the project.
Description of Work: Andrew built an outdoor kitchen for us. Some of the work was subbed out (plumbing, electricial, concrete, masonary). The project took place between May and September, 2007. Mr. Godwin came to our house and looked the space over. He told me every thing they would have to do with a few minor exceptions. He moved the drain to center it and reinforced the substructure to reduce the possibility of cracking. Originally, he wanted to put in a fiberglass pan, but they did not make one that would fit; so to my joy, he put in a tile floor. He did have to move the light switch to the other side of the door, but that was no problem. I couldn't be more happy with our new shower. It is the only good thing so far that has come out of buying a house with a leaky shower.
Description of Work: A custom shower was built; larger than the original, but with period sensibility. We are redoing our whole bathroom, but on a pier and beam foundation; I did not feel comfortable with building a shower from scratch.
