They were just great. They were friendly, professional and just as advertised. It is so rare these days. I had no complains about them whatsoever. I would certainly use them again in the future and I would recommend that others use them too.

My outside unit froze up one night. I called the following morning and a repairman came out within a couple of hours. He diagnosed the problem within a few minutes and gave me the option of waiting for a part specifically designed for my unit, or they would try and make an available part work. I opted to wait. The part came in that afternoon and they scheduled an installation time for the following morning--they showed up in timely fashion and fixed the problem ...cold air has been blowing for a coupla weeks, now. This was my second time to use Tom's (they had repaired a unit on a rent house). I have been satisfied both times.

Frank was very patient and gave me all the options and answered all my questions. He finished the repair in 20 minutes. I wish the motor had gone out during the week. I had to pay emergency pricing but it was worth it to have a cool house and he took the $25 angies list coupon.

The company gave me a window of time that they could provide service, then called 30 minutes prior to confirm. The technician arrived on time. He reviewed our HVAC system in full and narrowed the problem down to a bad Cutler Hammer breaker. There was also a wire that was fried. He replaced the wire, but unfortunately did not have the breaker part. He offered to order it and gave alternative options along with a quote for replacing it. He was very informative. I was charged for a service fee and the replacement of the fried wire. Replacing the breaker will cost approximately the same amount. All-in-all I am happy with the professionalism and service.

Great job! I recommend Trane instead of trying to cut corners and going with a less expensive unit. My bills have been cut in half.

Called at 9:30, scheduler said they could be out in the afternoon. That they would "work me in". 11:30 my phone rings and they are en route. Tells me he will be there in 20 minutes. Precisely 19 minutes later Jimmy is on my doorstep. I explained the issue with the upstairs unit not cooling, and since the downstairs had not been services in about 4 years i asked him to check it out too. He did what i would consider a thorough inspection of both units and reported that while my system is 15 years old it is all in good working order. The upstairs unit just needed Freon. 10 Lbs of freon later everything is blowing cold. He replaced all the filters, explained to me all the step he went through and what to look for in the future if i have additional issues. I have to admin he did quote me one price, and charg me another...but he charged me less that what he quoted. So i'm okay with that. He cut me a deal on the Freon due to the amount he had to put into the system. Jimmy was very professional, friendly, cleaned up after himself, and seemed genuinely interested in "taking care of the customer". Would certainly recommend Tom's, especially Jimmy if you get the opportunity!

Ryan and George installed a Trane AC/H unit in my home. Both are very professional and knowledgeable in the installation and operation of AC/H equipment. They answered all my questions and several times during the installation stopped to explain to me what they were doing and why. They were friendly, courtesy, and very neat in doing their work. They cleaned up when they were finished such that you couldn't tell they had been there. They complement each other very well so there is no wasted time or motion as each knows what the other is doing. I would highly recommend them for installation or maintenance work on your system. My one reservation is with management and in particular Brian Lackey. He provided me with the bid to install the Trane AC/H unit. On their Angies List page they offered a $100 coupon for 'system replacement' and a 10% 'senior discount'. Generally when a firm offers more than one discount they include a disclaimer that 'discounts' can't be combined. There was nothing in their page in the way of a disclaimer. The original bid included a $400 'Trane instant rebate' which he explained was a discount or rebate from Trane which would lower the cost of the unit from Trane to Tom's which they were nice enough to pass on to us. and a $100 'Angies list coupon'. When I called and asked about the senior discount he hummed and hawed and then said they couldn't give the senior discount and it was a mistake on the angies list advertisement. After some discussion he finally agreed to give a $400 'angies list/toms discount' which is less than 5%. However, he removed the $100 'angies coupon' so the net reduction in price was $300. I accepted because it was an acceptable offer compared to the other bids I received. Still, however, when a firm offers a discount in their advertisement they should honor it. Bottom line, the management, in my opinion, is not honest or honorable and I cannot and will not recommend them.

The service provided was fine. We haven't had any problems.

A/C wasn't cooling. Called them in the morning and they had someone out by afternoon. We needed them to come out after 4:00 but before 5:00 and they were able to accommodate. Jimmy diagnosed the problem as a bad capacitor and the freon level was also very low. He replaced the part and added 5 lbs of freon. The work was done professionally and quickly. He did mention an annual maintenance program that they offer but no hard selling on the services. We would definitely recommend them and would use again.

He was able to come out the same day. He talked to me sensibly about different issues and how long our heat pumps would probably last and when we need to replace them. He is very detailed, even the receipt was very detailed. He was very polite and he seem knowledgeable.

The outside electrical cut off switch shorted out and blew up. It probably took the compressor with it. The strange thing is we were looking to replace the heat pump and started some research. This just accelerated the process which was good because we got it installed on December 31, 2013, the last day for the Energy Tax Credit. I called a couple of contractors, one was a company that we had a service contract with and the other was Tom?s. I knew of Tom?s Mechanical from seeing their trucks at my work. I figured if they were good for work, they should be good for me. The first contractor could not give me an estimate until 12/31/2014. I contacted Tom?s and Brian Lackey came right over to work provide an estimate. I also wanted extra duct to run into my garage. Brian gave me several options and explained the differences. I knew I wanted several things as a priority: high efficiency heat pump, run extra duct, and my wife didn?t like the blast of cold air when the heat turned on. Brian ?designed? a heat pump system that met all our needs. As a bonus, it qualified for the Energy Tax Credit. The installers worked almost all day removing the old units and installing the new ones. They were very professional throughout the day. The unit is a two stage heat pump and starts out with a slow fan rpm during the heat cycle. Even when it was 15 degrees, I didn?t have to turn on the Emergency heat strip. Another benefit was Brian offered a Honeywell thermostat that I could control from my phone. I love that tech feature and have used it. I can change the schedule on the fly depending on our schedule. Our electrical bill has been reduced which is another reason to get a higher end unit. So far we love it and look forward to the summer with the air conditioning. I would highly recommend Tom?s Mechanical for any AC work. They are very professional and experienced. The couple of minor issues that popped up were handled the same day. Wish all my contractors were like this company.

It was pretty good. We ended up buying a whole new piece of equipment. They recommended a fairly sophisticated solution which we did not think was appropriate so we got somebody else. There were no additional charges beyond the big deal amount. This was the first time we used them. They were friendly enough, but I was not very impressed. They were reasonable. I wasn't, kind of, blow away with what they did.

They were very responsive and came out quickly when my furnace wouldn't come on. They got the part the next day and installed it. They were always on time and very professional and courteous. Carl was the technician.

They inspected my main furnace to make sure it was ready for the winter and safe to operate. The technician was punctual, efficient and courteous as always. I have used Tom's Mechanical for several years. They have always been extremely courteous, timely and informative about the work they are doing.

The experience was great. I all started with the sales manager and estimate. We had been using the same company for servicing our AC for about 20 years but they could or would not match the price quoted by Tom's for identical equipment. So we made the switch. We couldn't be happier with the experience. Two installation crews did all the work in one day and were neat, efficient, polite, and knowledgeable. It doesn't get any better than this when dealing with a contractor. They exceeded our expectations in every way!

Tom's does not know how to work on mini splits. The service man spent two hours, most of which was on the phone trying to get technical support from the manufacturer. We were then told that he thought he could try to do some work with it, but couldn't guarantee that it would help the situation. For this, he would have to come back another day and charge over $700 with no idea if the work he did would help or not. Then he wanted $200 for diagnostic work today. We did appreciate the honesty of the service man, who told us he didn't know how to fix the problem. We are not upset at him. After negotiations with Tom's, we settled to pay them $76. If, when we called, they had they informed us that they did NOT know how to work on mini splits, all would have been well. They told us, however, that they did work on mini splits. Thus we feel misled and that we paid for nothing. We will not be using this company again. ***Addition: We need to let you all know that the people at Tom's called and very politely refunded our money. We were pleased that they did this and feel a bit better about the company.

the work was done promptly and at a fair price. I will definitely use this company again for my heating and ac needs.

Two man crew arrived at prearranged time and removed old equipment and installed/start up new equipment in a day. Crew was courteous and knowledgeable(I know because I performed this work for 15 years).Work area was spotless when they left and installation passed city inspection on first pass.

I have used them already for one year and just recently renewed my contract with them. They are very professional and do a good job.

I contacted Tom's Mechanical for a bid on replacing the HVAC system in our rental house as the previous unit had become unrepairable. Brian Lackey was extremely quick and enthusiastic in his work with me. He contacted the current tenants in order to schedule the project estimate, and then again afterwards to schedule the work. The tenant reported a positive estimate and then installation experience. I had occasion to review the installation a few days later & I am more than satisfied with it. I commend Tom's Mechanical in their handling of both the business and service aspects of this work.

We woke up one morning and realized the AC was cooling... Called Tom's and had a tech at the house that afternoon. Diagnosed the problem and had a quote within an hour. Hard to get part was ordered and replaced within 24 hours. After hearing the quote, I called around and shopped the net for part pricing. Tom's had in fact quoted me a very fair and accurate price for the part.

Tom and their great group of guys installed a new HVAC system. They even staged my heating system without an additional cost. For some reason my AC cool off better that my old 12 year old system. I shoulld have upgraded years ago Thank Tom for your service. There sales person has a no preassure attitude as well. I decided what I wanted and when without preasure.

When I called to make an appointment and was suprised and pleased that they were able to get me in that afternoon. At 10 when we spoke I said I was free all day except 1:45-3:15. Naturally they called at 1 and said they were 15 minutes away. They arrived at 1:50, but I was still thankful and changed my plans because I was so glad they got me in! Eric listened to what ws going on and did a thorough investigation and figured out what needed to happen next. I will definitely use them again.
