We needed a licensed contractor to come out and inspect the AC units in order to call in the final inspection from the city. The general contractor we had hired was doing illegal activities and had to be let go. I took over as the GM though unfortunately we did not have access to the previous mechanical engineer who had did the initial installation. The city said we needed to hire another contractor, have them do the inspection, and call in the final inspection. And that is why we had called Tom's. I explained this to Nichole who, at first was confused by the situation, though after further explanation said they could do this. I had them out, they inspected the AC units which were in top condition (since they were new) and then went on their way. The gentlemen that came out was friendly and helpful. I called back to get this final inspection done which Dee Dee said they were unable to do. I explained that I was told they could take care of it however said, sorry, we can't do this. This was the whole point of having them out! Now I'm out $375.00 for something they said they were going to do but decided they couldn't. If you say you're going to do something, then do it. Otherwise I would never have bought this service. Being lied to is not a good feeling.

My review centers on the customer service. Tom's Mechanical does not advertise all over the television or radio. They simply gain customer respect and loyalty due to their excellent response to customer concern or need and fair pricing. They stand out when it comes to their obvious desire to make every effort to satisfy their customer. I called when I noticed water standing in the "pan" under my air conditioner unit. They had a service technician at my home before the day was over. They assessed the problem and agreed to handle it at no charge. They immediately offered to do what was necessary to eliminate the problem or future problem. It is rare, today, to have a company so committed to customer satisfaction. Often, the customer has to put up an argument to get full satisfaction. Tom's Mechanical does not operate that way. I find them highly qualified, knowledgeable, reliable, honest and a pleasure to do business with. By the way, as a woman, I have experienced more than my share of service companies giving me the run-around and trying to convince me I need more done than is truly necessary. Tom's does not work like that. This is not the first time I have used Tom's Mechanical and can verify that they do not pressure the customer in any way. I definitely appreciate Tom's Mechanical and will continue to use them and recommend them

Representative was very knowledgeable and helpful in determining what size unit we needed. We agreed to have the work done and scheduled the installation. The installation crew were on time and worked quickly, answered all questions and concerns, were very neat and picked up after themselves. Very pleased up to this point.

I got three bids before I had my system replaced. Only one other bid was similarly responsive and professional, but their prices were higher. Tom's got the job. Their project manager came out and assessed what I needed, and explained why I needed it; answered all my questions (patiently!). On the day of install they arrived on-time with all materials needed. Managed their work well and completed the installation in one day. I have a 2x/year maintenance service with them and they do fine there, too. Since then my sister has had a new system installed by them, too.

Brian Lackey, sales manager, visited us to provide information on a replacement Trane A/C System. He was very courteous and knowledgeable about his product. His presentation was low key, informal and not pressuring. His bid turned out to be the lowest of 6 which we received based on first cost and maintenance over the 10-year life of the warranty. The installers were led by Brian Houchin who was very knowledgeable of all aspects of the installation and wiring of the system. His watchful eye and review of the completed installation was admireable. His helpers were Johnny Vasquez and Jorge Sarmiento and knew and performed their respective trades very well. Everyone spoke very good english and therefore were able to converse with the owners on technical questions that arose. This crew was exceptional with each person having a separate job and were able to perform harmoniously to install the complete unite in about 4-5 hours. We were extremely pleased that they were able to install the unite on short notice and on a Saturday. Work was done neatly and old materials were cleaned up and disposed of. The work was completed with an overview of the operation and maintenance of the unit and the new wi-fi thermostat .

We've used them for many years. I always give them an 'A'. They're super. They're honest and they do their job.

On a Friday evening, we discovered one of our air conditioning units was not cooling properly. We called Tom's to request someone to come out as soon as possible. Within about an hour, we had someone on site. The technician was polite, professional and efficient, and quickly diagnosed the problem. He replaced a capacitor, which he had on his truck, and checked the operation of the rest of the system. It was cooling normally within a short time of his arrival. As you would expect, the cost is higher after hours. Tom's has a fee they call a "diagnostic fee" which is basically a trip charge. After hours, the fee is about $150 compared to a $76 charge during normal business hours.

Tom's installed my outside air/heat unit in June of 2013. This time, the Air Handler (inside, in attic) went out and I had no air conditioning. They were prompt when I called for service. Assessed the unit, which was built in 1996, and it was not repairable. Explained it was the "coil" which was what I was expecting. Tom's not only replaced this unit, I also asked them to install new ductwork. The old ductwork was at least 35 years old and was showing its age! It also had a crazy configuration which probably slowed air delivery to my rooms. The two servicemen, Justin and Oscar, were professional, very careful of my carpeting and house, and very informative. Took plenty of time to explain everything that had just been installed. Justin and Oscar both get my vote for exceptional customer service. I must say, Tom's Mechanical has now replaced three separate heating/air units in my home. I always "shop around" and they continually outbid their competition. They stick to their price, never come up with additional charges once you are committed to their service. Their customer service is exceptional. Their employees go above and beyond. I will definitely use Tom's whenever I need service.

Excellent job. best A/C provider I have worked with in Central Dallas, hands down. Great pricing (not always the very best, but often they are and when not, they are very close). Great company - honest, good techs, good work.

Tom was right on time...eager to get to work and very professional.

We have used Tom's for our bi-annual preventative maintenance on our AC unit for years so when it came time to get a new unit they were the first ones we thought of. We did have a few other companies quote us on the new unit but none of them compared to the great service Tom's has given us. Brian L. was our Sales Manager and he was great. He was very patient with us and all of our questions. Maybe we sounded crazy with some of the questions we were asking but it never seemed to phase Brain. He was very helpful in this process. The pricing was very competitive by the way. Seemed to be in the same ballpark as the other companies that quoted us but Tom's has the amazing customer service that sealed the deal. When Install day finally came around we met the install team of Brian, Oscar and Matthew. Wow what a great group of guys right there. They were on time and worked hard! They were very nice and had no problem with us asking questions. They informed us of what they were doing and how things were going as the job progressed. I can guess installing ac units in small attics is not an easy job but these guys sure did make it look that way. Overall, we are extremely pleased with the whole process and the nice cold air coming from the vents in our home. Tom's Mechanical went above and beyond our expectations and we couldn't be happier!

I started using Tom's several years ago when the company I was using couldn't come to fix my a/c for several days. My house was over 95 degrees. I called Tom's and they came the same day. I have used them for everything ever since then.

I chose Tom's Mechanical for my AC installation because of the price and the sales Rep. Ken Sullivan. He was very professional and answered a lot of the questions I had. The installation guys were very polite, arrived on time and finished installing the unit in 5 hrs. They worked straight through without a lunch break.

They are so punctual and every time they come into the house they put on shoe covers so as not to track in dirt. I have used them on several occasions and the consistency is remarkable. I?m a stickler for customer service and these folks are tops..no kidding! They fix what is wrong and don?t try and sell you on something you don?t need as do so many others. They have also installed a complete heat pump system about a year ago and it is working great! I hope you all find them as pleasant as I have.

I would recommend Tom?s Mechanical to anyone looking for a customer focused organization with a no hassle, no high pressure purchasing experience. Tom?s replaced my old electric furnace (42 yrs.old) and my outside AC unit (23 yrs. old) with a Trane XV Series Heat Pump. The system was installed in October 2014 so I don?t have a lot of experience with it, but so far, I have been very pleased. Based upon what I have seen I am anticipating significant savings in my future electric bills. To me the most critical component of a successful installation is the quality of the contractors work, not the brand of system purchased. I didn?t have any prior experience with Tom?s so I relied, in part, on the information that was posted on Angie?s List and the Better Business Bureau. However, my primary reason for going with Tom?s was my interaction with the company which was primarily my sales representative Ken Sullivan. My interactions with Ken left me with the impression that Tom?s was a customer focused organization with a solid process, a team approach and that they would take care of any future issues that might arise after the installation. I have not been disappointed. The entire progression, beginning with the sales process through the installation and post installation process was flawless. Justin and Carlos handled the installation; they were on time, very polite, organized and kept the work area clean during the installation of the new system. Everything looked very professional after they had completed the job. The entire installation took less than one day and was completed considerably sooner than I had anticipated. Brian, the Sales Manager, was also very helpful. He came out as the installation was winding down to review the installation and to give me additional training on the operation of the system. About a week after the install, Jimmy, the Service Field Manager came out to perform a quality check on the system. While he was there he made a few changes to the system parameters to increase its efficiency for my specific environment. I am very pleased with Tom?s Mechanical's team approach and the Trane XV system. I highly recommend them. They are a quality organization that made the entire process painless, without any issues, no hidden cost and delivered a quality outcome.

Very attentive to my specific requirements for total replacement of electrical disconnect, copper line set and plenum box above unit. Technicians were professional and careful to not scratch wooden floors around installation location in hall closet. Project manager (Brian) was very responsive to troubleshoot problem with new breaker in my electrical panel...he also replaced cover panel on outside unit because it was scratched during shipment. He earned my business because he was very personable AND competitive on overall price, warranty and initial service agreement contract. He took the time to discuss any questions and evaluate past problems with old unit. I was very impressed with the way this company appears to retain their employees (sales and installation) long term...they must be doing something right. This has been a very pleasant experience thus far.

Two men showed up at 8:40am and were completely finished by 12:40pm. They were wonderful and had the best prices.

They did a really a good job. They spent a lot of time figuring out what was wrong with my unit. I appreciate that. At first, it looks like it was something really major and they were able to fix it. They ran a couple of new lines and fixed the problem for me. I had very good interactions with them. The work turned out very good.

They finished the work within one day. They started with 2 people and by the end of the day, it was 6 people but they finished the work in a day. It was like for 12 hours. They did an excellent work. They are a little expensive but they are good. It is a big organization and they have a lot of people. The AC was dead and it was not fixable and it required a new system.

We had old AC unit outside that broke. So called up about 5 companies one of them Tom's mechanical inc. Before that a good friend diagnosed a leak and said we'll be better replacing it. He also told us what we want to replace it with and we checked the price. Unfortunately he doesn't do replacements, he just works in a big commercial company. Sales person came on time and same day, told me that our inside unit that was replaced 4 years ago doesn't go with the heat pump we wanted (even though it said on the top of it in small print that it does and we already been told by a trusted friend that it does). He also said the inside unit looks like it is 10 years old and we knew that it is NOT. He said that we either have to replace both inside and outside units or just go with R22 outside. His price for R22 was about $3470.
