I called the 24 hour answering service around 6 am so that I would get "queued up". I was going to be leaving town that day and needed to get it resolved quickly. The technician called me back around 7 am. He stated he had 1 call lined up ahead of me and would be out after that- probably around 10 or 11. Tech arrived pretty much on with his estimate. He confirmed it was the motor and gave an estimate to fix the motor (the motor was about $450, plus some misc electrical contact parts- about $100 - 150, plus labor), but recommended that I replace the whole compressor based on age, etc. Decided to replace the motor for now. Total bill was $681 for motor, electrical parts and labor (time and half on weekends). Technician was professional, timely, neat in appearance, etc, not pushy when I was debating motor vs whole compressor issue (GOOD!). Will definitely contact Tom's when its time to replace the compressor.

Tom's was able to send someone out the next day, where there competitors could not. The Technician was very polite and professional. There had been some miscommunication between me and their service scheduling folks, however he was very flexible and helpful. Wood was very willing to explain the issues so that I could understand them. We needed to see if this was a $5000 problem or a $20,000 problem and we used his excellent documentation in further price negotiations. After the service, I had questions about the charges. I felt they were high for a quick inspection, and as it turns out, I had been charged for 2 full diagnostic inspections. After a discussion with their very polite service manager, they were able to reduce the charges. I'm VERY happy with their service!

They were prompt and reasonably priced. They did very high quality work. They were very easy to deal with. I would highly recommend them and use them again.

They arrived on time and were very professional. They were very knowledgeable about the products they carry and what would possibly be needed in the future. They also looked at an additional A/C unit we had upstairs. They said that we did not need to replace it, but gave us a quote if we ever decided to in the future. We were very happy with their service. It took one day.

They are honest and fair. They were punctual and were very responsible on the job. The gentleman were also very nice and courteous. They were very responsive to everything as well.

Service technician arrived within the alloted time frame, with all necessary tools, equipment and replacement parts. Was throughly competent, knew and understood the system and performed his duties with no wasted steps or motion. He took precautions not to track dirt into the rugs by donning shoe covers.

I have a one and half story house with an impossible to cool upstairs during summer, due to strange ductwork and a single unit for the house. Brian came to see about installing a zone system or a Mitsubishi Mr. Slim ductless system. He concluded, rightly so according to other HVAC folks, that a zone system might work, but it would tax the house's system and not be worthwhile. So he gave me a bid on the Mr. Slim's but said there was a prettier alternative--the LG Art Cool units. The Mr. Slims work great, according to everything I've read, but Brian said LG was trying to get into the US market and created a similarly efficient ductless unit but made it much more attractive than a beige plastic casing. Brian bent over backwards to answer all my questions ahead of time on these new products. He priced various alternatives for me and came up with the best options based on my situation and desires (I wanted the inverter units for super high efficiency and something that looked good on the wall.) Brian's quote was for all work needed except electrical; to be able to compare apples to apples, he called his main electrician contractor and got a ballpark figure over the phone so I knew I could compare other bids that contained electrical work. (The bid turned out to be very close to the actual work which was pretty good since they had to bid just from Brian's verbal communications.) Brian even told me not to buy a third unit for my large upstairs bathroom. He said he would have his team (at no additional cost) detach and seal the ductwork going to the two bedrooms and let all the air go to the bathroom; they also installed a manual damper to help make the airflow not overwhelm the single duct. This saved me thousands of bucks on a third unit. One of the main installers said that if the LG unit in the master bedroom couldn't handle the size of it due to the attached dressing room thing (weird layout), they could drop a six inch vent in the ceiling right there to help it out. This sounded like a decent option and very considerate, but it turns out the LG can indeed cool the whole bedroom/dressing room area without a problem. I also had a question, post-installation, on the various filters for the units. Brian had one of his guys pop by and check them out personally. Overall, excellent service, great salesmanship in finding an alternate to what I thought I needed (for less money and it looks much nicer), and a confident feeling that I can count on them for anything I might need. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR AND HVAC NEEDS YOU MAY HAVE.

First I picked 6 vendors from Angie's List that all had A ratings. I narrowed it down to 2 and out of the 2 they had this company had the best price. The salesman who sold the job came out to make sure it was done correctly. They did the job quickly. They were highly professional.

The workers arrived early. They removed the old system and installed the new system in the attic very efficiently with no problems. The two guys were polite and professional. I had them add a new vent in the master bedroom ceiling . They did leave debris from the ceiling on my floor. However, all other sites were left clean. The sales rep. Brian was very attentive and helpful.

Best priced for duct work I could find. Great guys. Very fast work. They failed to clean up after themselves but came back when I called and told them about it and did so. I would definitely use them again and recommend them.

Their pricing was very good, middle range, professional, prompt, and very clean. The unit was in a very difficult place to reach and they could have charged us more than they did.

On the scheduled day, the team arrived on time and got right to work. Everything appeared to be very well orchestrated and executed as they removed and took away our old system and installed the new one, finishing up before 4:00. The guys were all very professional and friendly and seemed to take a lot of pride in their work. Brian, our sales rep., was great about answering questions and came across as quite forthright. We had been having problems with our old system for the past few years and never seemed to be able to get two of our bedrooms to cool, while a third one always seemed arctic. They took the time to reroute and balance the duct work and since then, our entire house actually feels comfortable. Once they were through, they cleaned everything up and took all the old equipment away. They made sure all our questions were answered and that we were satisfied with the work before they left.

They very knowledgeable. They are timely, can work with emergencies, such as the freeze-up, taking care of that at night when I was away on my honeymoon. They give extraordinary service. They charge fair prices, and offer unmatched quality. They even work pro-active in helping to avoid further repairs.

Carl and his men were very professional. They arrived on time at 8:30am, looked over the situation, laid down a tarp to keep the carpet clean, and went to work. They were done at 3pm. Carl showed me how to program my new thermostat and asked if I had any questions or concerns. They took all the old equipment away and didn't leave any mess.

Since I was calling on a Sunday, I reached an after-hours operator service Tom's Mechanical uses. The operator was efficient and told me that a tech would call me soon. Annie called within 20 minutes. She had a job to finish and one more before me but promised to be here within a couple of hours, which she was. Annie was friendly and professional. She called to tell me when she was on her way, and she was up front about the costs involved and let me make the choices about what I wanted done. I thought that the price was reasonable for work being done on a Sunday. I am hoping that the leak is small enough to allow me to get by until it's a little cooler in the fall, at which time I'll probably have Tom's Mechanical install a new Trane system both inside and outside.

The work went well there were no problems with the installation. The workers were nice and did not make a great deal of mess while doing the installation. We are using the new system now and it is very efficient.

He was able to give us an estimate before he started the work and he did it very efficiently. He was on time and reasonably priced. We have used him before in the past and have been really pleased with our experiences.

For a little over a hundred bucks, Tom's does a great job keeping up with my heating and a/c systems. They are great. Now, they recently went into insulation work and I would probably wait to use them for that since they are newer to the whole industry. For heating work or air conditioning work they are just superior though and I would encourage others to use their services.

Tom's provided a very good service. The gentleman was knowledgeable as to what we needed done and explained things in layman's terms so we were not overwhelmed.

Called Tom's, when cooling ceased. Water was found to be leaking inside, which caused the blower motor to short out. A new motor (still in warranty) was ordered and installed. Freon was low(5 lbs. added), even though Roach Air said, they had added freon a month previous to this. Annie, who came out, did a great job, and Rich Ashton followed up with a lovely letter and offered $25.00 off the cost of my next service invoice. You can't beat that for professionalism.

Matt Byrd, the representative from Tom's, arrived as agreed, provided a thorough investigation of the current system, and made specific recommendations if we decided to replace our heating and A/C. He was professional in every respect and did not try to sell us something; instead he provided all the details for a new system and his recommendation of the type of equipment we should purchase. When we feel able to replace our system, they will be the only company we call.

We had a power surge that blew out both of our central air systems, and I thought we would need to replace both units. I called Tom's and they sent someone out the same day. Donnie came out to look at the units (on a very hot day) and circumvented the boards so the air conditioning worked within an hour. He ordered new boards and someone from Tom's came back and installed them within a couple of days. They were great!

This company is of the highest quality. They were all professional, polite, on time as promised on each house call, and cleaned up perfectly.
