Response from Sun Painting Texas LLC
This review was written by a Better Business Bureau sales agent. He has given me a "c" because I am not an accredited business with the BBB. He will change the grade to an "a" if I become accredited (ie: pay him $685 per year). This is unethical. I might even be called blackmail. Angie's removed the portion of his review which gave live links to my page on his website and blocked my ability to post a response to his report. YES THAT'S RIGHT. HE HACKED ANGIE'S WEBSITE. Also blocked by Angie's was his statement that he wouldn't use us because we were not an accredited BBB member. Why don't I belong to the BBB any longer? Well, there's the blackmail. Then there's this: This same individual calls us at least twice a year (as do others in his office as well) and tells us that we need to call him right away. That he needs to discuss a VERY IMPORTANT MATTER. Of course we do call. Might be a customer issue. When we call, he says that some number, say 35 (varies from call to call) of customers have clicked on our page but can't reach us because we are no longer participating in the BBB. That's a very important matter which requires my immediate attention? No, it's just a sleazy sales technique. Or the customers I meet, usually elderly, who are totally disillusioned with the BBB. They have used a contractor who has a good grade on the BBB only to find that they have been cheated, lied to, or just received shoddy work. Does the BBB care? No. Does the BBB do any thing? Not really. They're not a government agency. They aren't a consumer watch dog group. All they are is a for profit company which lists customer complaints against companies. No complaints-good grade. Complaints-bad grade. Bad companies just change their name. This customer has a mess to clean up and a deep sense of betrayal by an organization which is not who they say they are. Count me out. I wish I could write a review on the BBB and give them a grade on Angie's List like they just did to me! Mark
