It went as planned from start to finish. No surprises. Very fast and efficient.

I've really struggled on whether or not I should write a review. I was so angry when the work was done that I wanted to let some time pass so that I could be fair...now, I feel like too much time has passed. However, Angie's List keeps asking me to review, so I guess I will. I purchased a and quot;Big Dealand quot; (2 painters for a day) last year, in October, to paint the front of my 4-plex rental property. It should have been a relatively simple process. There was about 100 linear feet to paint, plus 4 pairs of shutters, 4 doors, and the porch-area above the doors. They were also supposed to prepare the wood for painting and repair a couple places where the wood was damaged. I understood that it might take a little longer than one day, but I figured it should be pretty close. The whole experience was an absolute nightmare. The painters arrived on time, however arrived with no equipment, no tall ladder, and no experience with exterior painting (the painter's helper had no painting/prep experience at all). They did not have a power washer nor did they have a paint sprayer nor did they have the paint. The manager of the job did not show up until much later (maybe about 10 am?). He also arrived with almost no equipment...he had to go buy the paint and then run to Home Depot to rent a paint sprayer! They did not truly get started on the property until about 1 pm; they worked until dark. There was some rotten wood that was supposed to be replaced or repaired. The painter had no experience with exterior painting and did not have what he needed to replace the rotten wood. So, he patched it with something that was applied with a putty knife (maybe spackling paste?). A year later, the patches are peeling and will probably fall off. The manager of the job wanted to reschedule for another day. As I mentioned previously, this is a 4-unit rental property. I had to give fair warning to all of the tenants that the property was going to be painted and they had to vacate all of the parking close to the building. Additionally, I had to be onsite to open the front doors that needed to be painted, and babysit the property until the doors had dried enough to close. Therefore, I would not allow the job to be rescheduled. To his credit, the manager stayed for the rest of the day to help the guys finish the messiest stuff, but they did have to come back the next day to finish. While the manager did help out, the complete lack of pre-planning and preparedness was appalling and unacceptable. The quality of the work was also fairly poor. The wood repair was unacceptable and the doors don't look good (they rolled them rather than spraying them and the coverage was poor...I'll have to repaint these doors as the tenants slowly vacate). I cannot recommend this company for any type of external prep and paint...maybe they do better inside.

I could not have been more pleased with a company. Autumn came out and estimated the work to be done. She estimated that itwould take about 3 days, and it did. I have a large home with high ceilings, and I really did not think it could possibly be finishedin that time. I had a crew of three - Hernon, Jose, and Jose. They were so pleasant and accommodating, very punctual and professional. Theydid everything possible to see that I was a satisfied customer. The would arrive at 8 a.m. and leave around 7 p.m. On the thirdday (the last day), we had a problem with the kitchen, requiring me to have it painted. They said they would stay if I wantedto have it painted that night. I ran out and got some paint, and they stayed until 1 o'clock in the morning to complete the job. Thiswas unbelievable to me!!!!!! I have never heard of such a thing! As for the work, it is first class. Talk about steady hands, they have it. They are excellent painters, very neat, and clean. We had friends over this weekend, and they commented on how professional the painting was. From the office staff to the painters, it has been a most wonderful experience, and I will certainly use them again.

Called and arranged a mutually agreeable date.The two arrived on time. I showed them the paint and supplies I had purchased.I showed them the rooms I wanted painting.They were very professional. They painted all of the rooms I had hoped for.They cleaned up everything.Everything went very smoothly.

Was a daily special and it cost a lot more than the initial $200.

Owner and office personnel worked with me to get it done on my schedule. Very friendly service and satisfaction is guaranteed. They did an outstanding job from the painters to the office/owner staff. Thank you!

An assessment of all work to be done was performed by a Sun Valley rep. We required some repair to facia and eaves, and some window areas. The extra cost for repair work to be done was discussed and agreed upon. Our purchase of this offer was made in April 2012; it was beginning of August that we were scheduled by Sun Valley. If you are in a rush, this is not the way to go. However, the repair work was done professionally by friendly carpenter; the painting commenced the day after carpentry was completed. The painters were careful that paint went only where it was meant to go - they did a lot of spray painting and so there was a high regard to protect surrounding areas. The spraying gave an even, clean surface. The painters were friendly and considerate ( they even ensured the gate was kept closed so our dog would not leave the property).The painters moved all outdoor furniture and plants before painting and replaced them when done. Unfortunately, some plants were moved to overly sunny places and so were damaged, so I would recommend taking care of these yourself. All garbage (including used paint cans) was gathered and bagged (3 large green bags), however, they were left on our front lawn for us to dispose of. I feel the garbage should have been separated into paper for recycle, plastic for garbage, and paint cans for proper handling. Otherwise, entirely a professional and well done job.

I contacted Sun Painting and scheduled the job. An earlier date opened and they showed up a few works sooner. Work started a bit slowly due to some problem mathcing the paint with their vendor. Once he had the paint mixed....the job flew by. I wish I could do it as well - this guy was an artist with a paint gun! Would definitely recommend them.

I arranged for the day off from my job for my Wednesday 8/15/12 appointment. They were to be there between 8:00 and 8:30. The afternoon before, Tuesday 8/14, I had an email from Sun Painting, reminding me that the painters would be here the next morning. 8:30 came and went, so I called at about 9:15 to be sure they were coming. Was told they were on their way. I called again about 10:30 - was told they didn't want to come while the ground was wet, because they had to drag the pressure washer around my yard. But was assured they'd be here by noon. I called Sun Painting at 12:30 to say this was unacceptable - don't bother coming. I've had good luck with other Big Deals in the past, but have had problems with this and two other Big Deal deals just recently. It appears they overbook to be sure they have work the work, then jerk the homeowners around. I'm through.

Very professional, crew was on time, finished on time and cleaned up when they were done. Price was competitve as it was an Angie's list deal. What more can you ask for. Highly recommended.

We purchased a new to us home that needed a complete refresh inside and out. Mark came out and surveyed the house. I pointed out the visible damage but noted there might be damage that was not visible from the ground. Other paint contractors were also there to bid. Other contractors came out with ladders to look at the details since this is a 2 story house. Mark did not. Mark responded with a competitive bid in a couple of days. When the other bids were in I called for some clarification. There was not as much detail spelled out as other bids. They were not the lowest bidder but we selected them based on other reviews and competitive pricing. Ann coordinated the payments and schedules. She was very pleasant and efficient to work with. She even allowed me to work with her to put the painting on my credit card so I could get miles for it. She was always very responsive and easy to work with. The interior crew was very efficient and highly skilled. They were working long days in extreme heat but maintained focus and dedicated to quality. The crew leader Dario was willing to explain the progress and plan for the next day or so as the work progressed. He even had a few suggestions to make the work flow smoothly. He checked in frequently for feedback for satisfaction. As a new part of the work was about to start he explained what to expect and kept us in the loop. We inspected progress several times a day. Any little touch ups or cleanups were immediately addressed with a smile and a good and helpful attitude. The house shines and is finished beautifully. On the exterior there were some problems with the repairs that were made. First, there was water damage to some trim that was visible from the ground. The carpenter made repairs but did not fix all of the boards that were damaged. When inspected, he advised he fixed the ones Mark told him to fix. Mark said to fix the others would be more money. We eventually negotiated it out with Ann however I felt Mark should easily have seen it. Other areas of soffit and trim we're painted over withou repair. When inspected, I brought it to Ann's attention and she worked with the carpenter to have it repaired correctly. In this case, I believe the carpenter was doing what he was paid to do. Ann followed through to resolve it to our satisfaction. Up close inspection is recommended to make sure you are happy before issuing the final payment. There was a little confusion as to whether work in one room was included. I thought it was but Mark said it was not. The quote specified specific work for certain rooms but then said "the rest of the house" and had a price for that. I ended up getting a separate quote for that because I felt his price should have included it. I recommend getting a room by room breakdown to avoid any misunderstandings. In the end we were very pleased with the end result and we would use them again.

Sun called on 7/27 and said a carpenter would be there for repairs on 7/28. They said they could not start painting until 7/31 instead of 7/30. On 7/31 a crew of four arrived at the agreed upon time and started power washing and taping outside. They cleaned off dirt and grime around the house. My home is brick, two stories. The crew manager then told me he was only supposed to paint a clear coat on the door and nothing else. Anything else would cost more. After the crew manager finished the front door, he told me he had to go to another job and he left a non-English speaking crew to finish the job. The painted the rest of the day and started to clean up. They asked for the balance due. I admit it was my mistake to go ahead and pay. They did not finish the job and left a huge mess. There was over an inch of dirt and mud left on my front step. Globs of caulking had been left to dry on my front porch, and on my mat. What windows they did caulk, they just caulked over what was already there. There is paint in my grass in the front yard, and paper and tape left all around the house. The paint on the garage was spotty at best, and the paint on the wood wood trim was not sanded at all, even though it was needed. I can see the original paint and even wood in some places on the garage trim. There is paint on the concrete around the garage door. I have called multiple times explaining that the job was substandard. While they would call back, they kept blaming it on their contractor. I even tried to call the contractor with no response. I did not hire the contractor, I hired Sun Painting. It should not be my responsibility to get a contractor to come fix shoddy work that they did in the name of Sun Painting. I have given them 12 days now to rectify the problem but no one has even bothered to come to the house and see the results. I finally cleaned up the mess on my front porch. They left almost a gallon of paint, so that means I will be repainting the garage trim. I will have to hire someone else to do the caulking. I regret ever calling this company, and I will think twice before signing up for a pre-paid and quot;dealand quot; through Angie's list again. I thought that this company could be trusted because of the good reviews, but obviously that is not the case. 09/06/12 I have not received any messages on my phone from anyone. I will try to call the owner Mark again.

The coupon included 'premium' paint so they picked up the high grade paint in the color we had chosen at Sherwin Williams. They carefully went around the entire house and caulked and put protective tape and paper to prevent spraying on the brick. The person who did the spraying was very skilled and he covered everything perfectly with no overspray mistakes.They brush painted some areas such as the back door. They also varnished my front wooden door for no extra charge. They cleaned up everything and left us the leftover paint. The house looks great and we were very satisfied with the result. We had used them before to paint our inside so we were confident the exterior job would be good as well. The team leader on the job was very friendly and informative.

They came on time. They did their job well. They left things better than they found them!! Very satisfied!

They did a great job! I purchased an Angie's List Deal for this work late last fall and was very pleased with Sun Painting. The contractors were punctual, professional, and efficient. The office staff was very helpful with information about the job, which required rescheduling due to tornado damage to my residence in early April when the work was originally scheduled to be done. And also, they advised me in advance that the job would be more time-consuming than the time allotted by the Angie's List Deal which allowed for 3 man hours of drywall repair.

Overall, I think the lack of clarity on the service minimums soured my experience. In the future, I think that disclosing/posting service minimums will prevent further disappointment from future customers.

They gave us an excellent price and did good work. I am extremely satisfied and would definitely use them again. I would recommend them. They were very prompt with their work. We received 4 estimates and they were the lowest bid. They were the only ones that wanted to use a scaffold to paint our high vaulted ceilings. I am very pleased.

I signed up for 4 hours of painting by two people. They arrived on time and did a good job. They painted one room and a lot of interior trim work around the house. They accomplished a lot and cleaned up well before they left. It was definitely worth it!

He continually stated that they'd get people out to our home and on 3-4 times they would call and cancel or not show up. The person they were planning on doing the service for us was arrested and they never could have someone complete the deal. So finally we went and got a refund for the big deal due to never being able to get the service completed. It was hard to get in touch with them. I'd leave voicemails and they'd never call me back.

Sun Painting was featured as Angie's List and quot;Big Deal.and quot; I signed on for $1299 to paint our lake house at Possum Kingdom Lake. They must have been inundated with Big Deal painting jobs, because I had to call them several times over a month's period of time to see if they had gone out to look at the house. Our house at PK was just built 5 years ago, but the painters used poor grade paint, so it was badly faded. It was in good condition aside from the fading and didn't need scraping or repair. I finally heard from Sun, and they said that I would have to pay for and quot;extrasand quot; in the amount of another $1599! Guess Angie's and quot;Big Dealand quot; was for them, not the customer!I asked if our attached porch and steps were included in the painting, and Sun said and quot;we aren't setting foot on any decks!and quot;List Angie's customer service dept. said they would refund my money if I wanted, hopefully they will.

They came to paint my 1500 square ft condo. While doing so, the broke my refrigerator, and a light. They did not patch holes, and they didn't not clean up after themselves. They also set off my fire alarm, and did not inform me. They were in my home until 10 pm and I did not feel safe. When I tried to resolve these issues, Mark did not take responsibility. The experience was ridiculous.

They did a great job. They appeared to be overbooked because their schedule seemed crowded. Part of this was because I was waiting on Dario.

I've lived in my house 36 years and had it painted several times by different contractors. Sun Painting did the most thorough and professional job of exterior painting of all I've contracted with. They charged a fair price and their preparation and post clean-up was complete. They are a professional and experienced painting contractor.
