I purchased the Big Deal from Angie's List for exterior painting and set up an appointment for a review of the work to be done. Autumn from Sun Painting arrived on time for the review. We needed some carpentry work and painting of our shed as well, for which she provided a bid in addition to the original deal. The bid was accepted and we set a tentative week for the work to be performed. In the scheduled week, I received a phone call that the carpenter was about to complete the job prior to ours and they would like to have him start on Wednesday instead of Thursday as originally planned. I altered my plans and stayed at home to receive the carpenter on Wednesday morning. By 10:30 the carpenter had not arrived and when checking with Sun Painting, they could not provide the whereabouts of the carpenter. I understand that misunderstandings take place. After a while, I was informed that the carpenter and the painting crew would arrive as planned originally on Thursday. My wife made arrangements to take a day off work on Thursday to accept the crew. Unfortunately the situation from the previous day was repeated as no one had shown up by 10:30. I once again called Sun Painting and after a return call was informed that the carpenter was to arrive in the afternoon by 1:00 pm. The carpenter did show up after 3:00 pm without any supplies for the scheduled repairs and seemed very unprepared as he asked my wife on what repairs needed to be done. He manages to conjure up 2x4s from a local supplier by the time it's dark and leaves without any work begun. At this point our confidence has decreased, but agree to go ahead with the project, rescheduling for Saturday with SunPainting's primary carpenter and paint crew. I informed Sun Painting that it is not acceptable for any work to be done on Friday as we will not be able to take time off work. On Friday morning I receive a phone call from a person informing me that they have arrived at our house to start pressure washing. Another oversight, with further decrease in confidence. On Saturday the carpenter from Wednesday arrives at 9:30 am, but there is no sight of the company's primary carpenter and nor is there a sight of any painters. Now we decide that we had given enough of our time and loss of income as compensation for poor planning. My wife called Autumn and it was agreed that we would stop at this point and request a refund for the pre-purchased Big Deal. We do not have all the insights to the difficulties of any internal project planning issues that Sun Painting may face, but felt that most of the issues could have been avoided with proper communication. We do not know to what quality level any eventual work would have been completed, but our perception was being lowered as time went on. In closing, the price for the scheduled work may be of good value, but perhaps not so much if you consider your time valuable.

Overall, a very good job. I was a somewhat concerned at first about what I'd gotten myself into as they did not show up on the assigned date and I'd already paid 50% down. I called to find out what happened to them after waiting 2 hours. Their previous job took a little longer than expected and was told they'd start the next morning. Again, I waited 2 hours the next morning and called to discover they'd be there at noon instead. Once they showed up they were very good. BUT, I would have preferred to have been called and told the job would be delayed than to wait around for them to show up as this was not my home and I had to travel 30 minutes to get there. If I had taken time off of my job to be there I would have been VERY angry, fortunately, I was not working this month and had the time to shuffle other appointments around. Once they started working, they did not stop and finished in the 3 day time frame.

They were at my house for 3 days beginning March 28 and finishing the evening of March 30th. The painters were very polite and cleaned up each night before leaving. I have a 2,300 square foot home and they put plastic over all of the walls before they sprayed the ceilings to protect the furniture and walls. They did an excellent job painting the trim and the bathroom cabinets in my 2 bathrooms.

The painter was great! He repaired on small area in the under corner of the roof and did a very good job caulking all the areas. The only item he missed was retacking the internet wire back. The power washing and caulking took a couple of hours the day before he painted the house. He started painting about 8:30 AM and completed around 3:30 PM. He cleaned up all the mess before he left. The administrative process needs some improving. No one contacts you after you purchase the package. Once I called it took two weeks before someone came out an evaluated the house and provided an estimate. The first date setup for the evaluation was missed and it was rescheduled for the next week. The sales woman was quite professional. I was told when the paperwork was returned to the office, someone would call me. No one did. When I called, I was given a date for the service. The date of the service was changed three times before it occurred due to administrative issues in the office. They did always return my calls promptly. My only request was that the actual painting had to be done on a Tuesday or a Thursday and I was willing to wait an extra week for that to occur. It ended up occuring on a Friday despite my request. If you can deal with the admin problems of missed appointments and rescheduling, the final outcome is good. The house looks great and the price was good excellent!

After buying the package, they contacted me and scheduled an appointment. Someone came out and gave a quote for the job that included additional charges for things not covered in the package. They then scheduled a date to paint the house. They were on time and professional. They started about 8am and worked all day and completed the entire job in one day. There were a few problem areas the we found after the job had been done. I called and they came out and assessed the issues. They sent the crew back out to fix the issues. Again they were prompt and polite. This is a small 80 year old frame house, so some issues were expected.

We provided the paint, they painted for the day and at the end, it was not a good job. It wasn't taped off properly. The edges were not crisp, in many parts the paint was too thin and in other parts it was adequate. I feel that even if you buy a discount coupon the quality of the job should be equal to the quality of the full price job. My advice: Don't buy their coupon or their full price. That quality of work wasn't worth even the coupon price. We are planning to paint over their job.

Sun Painting came ot to the house and gave me an estimate to replace some rotted out wood on the 2nd floor of my home. That was in addition to the actual overall exterior paint job that was pre quoted in the Big Deal. The carpenter came out, on time, but his ladder could not safely reach the peak of my house - so he had to use my personal ladder- which was no issue at all. He did a thorough job tearing out the old wood boards and replacing them. The next day the painters showed up and they did a remarkable job on all the exterior of the house. They did get some paint of the roof shingles- which I noticed afer they left. I thought they did a fine overall job. The quality of the paint is exceptional. i would recommend using Sun Painting again. In fact I have some interior painting that needs to be done and I will use them again.

He was very thorough and explained the issue to me. He went through each room and was going to draw up an estimate for additional work to be done. He told me that he would be in touch with me via e-mail with the estimate and I never heard back from him. I received a refund for the deal.

The people at Sun Painting were always pleasant to deal with and very professional. The arrived when they said they would and completed the job in the timeframe that they had submitted. The quality of the work and materials used was excellent. We would use them again!

Contractor that originally came to the house and office staff were friendly and helpful. Crew left paint buckets and wood and trash on the side of our home. We assumed they would be responsible for hauling away. We had wood framing replaced around garage doors, caulking has pulled away from the house, knot hole in the wood was filled with caulking which of course has also fallen out. So we are fixing ourselves. Painters left large scratch on shutters (I think from ladders) and when they came to repaint we gave them the paint we had left, it was high gloss rather than semi gloss, but since they only did touch up, shutters looked worse than ever) called them again and at first painter said he could not come out again...out fault. Called their office and they sent out another painter to paint the shutters properly. We paid extra for doors to be painted. Stained paned door was not completely varnished. We called office and they came back out and revarnished. (It is and quot;okand quot; now) We thought caulking including windows, apparently we were wrong about that. It seemed to us that the management/owners are good people who will try to make things right so maybe we just had a bad crew. I said we would not use them again which seems harsh because there were some things we did like, but now with the problem with the garage and the really poor workmanship we are wondering if the paint job they did will hold up. Pricing and dates are approximate, had a lot of work done this summer.

The company was responsive to the fact that I was a teacher and had the work completed before I had to return to work in spite of the increase in work as a result of their The Big Deal. I appreciated them working with me. The painter worked very hard and did a great job. Thank you.

I was very pleased that I was not tricked or fooled in any way like the handyman connection did.

After I bought the deal, I did some reading and figured out that it would take many more hours than I purchased to complete the work. So, wallpaper removal can take hours! We personally removed about 90 percent of the wallpaper the week before they arrived. It took all of the 4 hours (2 men) to finish removing the small amount of paper, prep the wall, then blow texture on the wall. We later painted ourselves.

Provider did not keep original appointment but rescheduled for later date. Not a big deal but meant that I had to adjust my schedule. I not only had to provide some of the materials but work cost much more than anticipated. I do not remember exactly how much it actually cost. Even though they used plastic sheets, drywall dust covered the wet bar and adjacent den, furniture, floor, etc. after they left. Drywall mud was left on wallpaper, so neatness was a big negative for me.

Scheduling took a little time (not necessarily anyone's fault - we're all busy!) but they did a fantastic job and were pleasant to work with.

Two guys came out and did an excellent job painting my 2 story entryway. Very neat and cleaned up everything.

While Annie, the on-phone scheduler, and Autumn, the on-site estimator, were warm and friendly, the rest of the company, including the president, were belligerant, argumentative and unresponsive. The job at my property was well under the 1,200 square feet supposed to be covered, yet I was charged $200 extra for scraping, which (in my opinion) should have been included since the overall price covered more square feet than actually painted or paid for. And, in fact, much of the scraping (which thank goodness I inspected before the final paint was applied!) was ridicuously inadequate!) I did NOT contact any references, since I assumed that Angie's List had done that research and recommended this company, but before I hire any other contractor through Angie's List I would require former customer input. Further, although I requested changes in The Agreement from the estimator to cover and quot;workmanlike performanceand quot; and other ususally standard terms in a contract (including agreement of legal processes if necessary within the appropriate county, city or state), I was stonewalled on that issue. Finally, I had to hire a different contractor to come and scrape the paint off the windows which were left untouched by the company. Altogether, a pretty unsatisfactory performance.

It was the easiest paint job I've ever been through.

Overall, it went well. I had some scheduling problems initially, but once they got here, they were very efficient. They did a lot of prep work, which resulted in no overspray on the bricks and windows and clean lines. I really didn't they would be able to do it all in one day, as they were late getting started because of traffic, but they did and I was very pleased with the outcome. They also cleaned up the area well.

They were very accommodating to my schedule, very friendly and professional. Did an excellent job. We were very pleased.

I contacted Mark at Sun Painting. He came by and gave me an estimate on our job. My husband and I discussed the bid and then decided to go with Sun Painting. They were very busy at the time of our quote due to the popularity of the special going on. We scheduled our paint job a couple months from that time. We weren't in a huge hurry, so it didn't inconvenience us.. I thought it would take a couple of days due to the size of our home, but they did it in one long day. If we did it over again, I would prefer that it be done over a two day period. Jose, the crew leader, was also taking care of another job. When the team finished, I would like to have had Jose there to go over everything. There was a little bit of a language disconnect, since I do not speak Spanish. We did however, work through everything to our satisfaction. They listened to our needs and made sure we were satisfied.

It was a good experience and I would recommend and use them again if we needed the interior painted. My husband is very finicky as he is an experienced do it your selfer...but he felt they had very good attention to detail. I felt the offices coordinators knowledge could have been better, but it still was fine for the smaller size company they are.
