+ 0 moreThey were good. I really liked them a lot. They did a great job. The painters were good and so clean. They protected my home and new hardwood floors. They were here when they were supposed to be there. When they came they were here all day and did not waste any time. They came later to do some touch up as well. They followed up very well. The house now looks so much better. They were very dependable. They came with their uniforms and did their job well. Their price was good as well. I rate them high overall.
Description of Work: I used Southern Painting in April to paint our entire house. They painted all of our cabinets and everything.

Description of Work: I referred Southern Painting to clients that had been getting bids for their exterior painting as well as replacing some wood rot. My clients were thrilled with the results and called to thank me and they invited me to their home to see the results. It was like night and day - the house looked brand new. The caulking was flawless. My clients said their price was not the lowest, but the lowest price did not include all of the work that Southern Painting provided. She said they were on time, cleaned up their mess daily, started on time, and ended on the project the day they said they would finish. I am looking forward to my next painting project, I will definately call Southern Painting. Chris Adkins was her sales representative and he was very good and not pushy.

+ -1 moreIt is difficult for me to give an actual day by day outline of their work as I was buying the house, having other work done, working and moving. I will add what I can clearly recall. The job supervisor met with me after I got home from work (5-6PM.) I explained what I needed/wanted and gave him wallpaper samples to try to match an odd color. He called me the next day and made arrangement to leave color chips for me to review. Upon reviewing the color chips, I called and made arrangements to leave them a key and they did a great job. My Dad came through a couple of times to check their work. The supervisor followed up with me the day after the painting was complete to ascertain that it was what I wanted/expected. I was very satisfied and as I stated previously hired them again recently to paint the exterior of my home.
Description of Work: This was four years ago so I can't remember all of the details. I bought the house and there were some odd interior colors and 2 rooms were baby boy nurseries. I had to get the "nurseries" repainted as my dogs don't appreciate that motif and I have no children. They worked while I was at work and I think they got the work done in less than 2 days. They did a good job of matching the colors I wanted and covering up the walls in the kitchen that were a horrible greenish blackish bluish, ick. They used quality paint. I can't give a blow by blow description as this was almost 4 years ago. But I am still very please with their work. So pleased, in fact, that I had them back last month to paint the exterior of my home.

+ 0 moreChris came at the time of our appointment (prompt/punctual) and estimated the job - pointing out repairs they would need to make along the way. He was very thorough in his assessment. Our house is Tudor style and someone had painted it odd colors for the style. Chris helped us choose colors that were more appropriate and made the style more evident. He set up a date for his crew to come out and do the "pre-work" (power washing, some of the repairs and treatments.) They were on time - did their work efficiently and were respectful of our privacy and our dogs. They completed another job early and Chris called us asking permission to begin the actual painting early! We thought WOW! A contractor who is ahead of schedule. They spent approximately 2.5 days doing our house. We had a couple of freak outs when the paint didn't look right, called Chris and he was calmly reassuring that it would look deeper when it dried. At one point there was a question about a particular repair (how it should be done.) We called Chris and he was here in less than an hour and corrected the error. The final product looks really nice, several of our neighbors have commented on how much better it looks with the colors it is now opposed to the previous colors.
Description of Work: Southern painting has done work for me prior to this experience and I will definitely use them again. This time they painted the exterior of my home. Not only were they punctual, tidy, friendly, thorough, respectful of our privacy and pets, they did an excellent job. They assigned us a "foreman" (I think they use a different term) who helped us choose appropriate colors for the exterior style and elevation of our home. He was our "go to" guy especially when we were freaking out that the colors weren't right. He calmly explained that the colors deepen as they dry. He also was our connection to the "front" office. His name was Chris, he was very attentive to our needs and promptly returned our calls. He followed up when the job was complete, making sure we were happy with the work. Our house looks awesome, I almost hate to sell it! Kudos to Chris, his crew, and Southern Painting! I can't wait to get inot my new home and get them out to do some more painting.

+ -1 moreOverall, the experience has been horrible not to mention very expensive.
Description of Work: Approximately 5 years ago I had the exterior of my house painted by Southern Painting- owner Tim Kelley. I paid extra for "primer and better quality of paint". Sherwin Williams 25 year guarantee paint. Within the last 18 months the paint began to peel. I called Southern Painting and Chris Adkins came out to give me a bid to paint my house again. He did state that a paint sample was given to the Sherwin Williams representative and will be sent off to the lab. After several weeks and numerous phone calls he said the paint and primer had stuck to the original paint and the moisture was causing it to peel. I requested a copy of the lab report but was told it was not for my viewing and would not receive a copy. In the interim, Chris requested I put the left-over paint from five years ago on my porch so he could match it. He then came over again to give me a bid on what exterior boards and wood that needed to be replaced. He informed me l needed to have an ac leak resolved and my back rain gutters need to come down and replaced. He provide a list of his preferred providers. I called Golden Mechanical for the ac issue. While it appears the leak has resolved my son's laptop was missing after they left. I once again had to call Chris to check status of bid and my portion and what they would cover. I informed him of my leak repair and stolen laptop to which he replied "is your rain gutter down?'. I stated I would have that down once a price and bid is complete and agreed upon. Now mind you this is six weeks after the initial request was sought. Again I called Chris after he needed another week to come up with the quote. I left him a message to email or send the quote as well as the lab results. Of course he didn't and I had to call him again to check the status only to be told they will not provide the lab results. It was then I requested the owner of Clamn Inc. dba.Southern Painting, Tim Kelley call me directly. He or his brother Jo did return my call. I have never been treated so poorly let alone unprofessionally. He informed me they will present the bid, not the lab results. We need to take his word evidently as fact per the lab findings.I commented it should not take almost two months just to get a bid and financial responsibility/determination. In fact it was "speaking volumes about his company". At which time he informed me "my warranty has expired and he would not touch my house" and abruptly hung up on me. Now they have my paint, peeled away copious amounts of paint from my house, and I got to pay extra for the "better primer and 25 year exterior paint".

+ 0 moreHouse painting was done in conjunction with roof/guttering replacement so timing was a factor. Called Southern painting for an estimate. Chris Adkins promptly came to our house, listened to what we wanted done, gave us some options and provided us with a written estimate which was quite reasonable. He worked with us on the timing which was delayed by the roofers/gutter installers and promptly started the job upon our request to start. Chris was here with his crew each day until completion. His crew was here early, worked hard, and was eager to please us. I was amazed at the caulking done on the wood, there was so much applied that you couldn't tell what color the siding was originally. On the front side lights and transom, they removed the storm glass to refinish the wood and re-installed it upon completion. Upon completion of the overall job, Chris came back and did a walk through inspection with me with no problems identified. He left the remaining paint for us to use for touch up if needed and offered his services in the event any warranty work issues arose. My wife and I were very very pleased with the overall work. When I complimented Chris on his crew he told me that they were from the Houston office which had been shut down by the hurricane. He had brought them up to the D/FW area to keep them employed. What a wonderful gesture on mgmt's part!
Description of Work: Powerwashed all surfaces to be painted. Replaced as needed and painted all exterior wood surfaces of our house. Painted garage door, rear door and stained and sealed front entrance door, transom and side lights. Sanded, rustproofed and painted wrought iron fencing in back yard.

They were extremely helpful in recommending a carpenter to complete small repairs that had to be completed before the painting was started. They were mindful of are customers and very courteous to them. Work was completed on time and looks fantastic. Not a drop of paint was spilled. What a great group of workers.

+ 0 moreExcellent! On my first contact with their office, the staff was very professional, responsive, and informative. They confirmed the appointment via email. I was extremely impressed with the professional tone of their website. They show a photo of the sales manager that will be coming to do the estimate and some background info on them. He was thorough with his estimate, did not push for a decision that day. He gave me four choices of price levels to choose from and explained the difference and warranty on each. (Their price range was very competitive compared with the other two bids I had received). I had join Angie's List to find a plumber. It is significant that they do NOT ask for money up front. You don't pay until the job is done. This is very comforting and it ensures that the job will be done right. (Too many dishonest subs ask for money up front and then never come back to do the job.) After I called to give them my decision they confirmed again with email that took me to their website where I could select paint colors if I needed to. The sales manager was in constant contact with me to advise status of what day they would power wash, when the caulking would be done and when the painting would start. The actual painting took two days (one day for the first coat and one day for the second). The crew wore uniforms and were very clean. They arrived each day right on time and when they left, there was nothing left behind and the area was as clean as they found it. There were no areas to be redone and no touch-up necessary when the job was finished. I am extremely pleased with the exterior painting and plan to use them for my interior painting later this year.

+ 2 moreWe just remodeled our home and this part of it was a good experience. They showed up exactly on time and used a large crew to finish the job in about 5 days. All of the workers were excellent. We had a job Foreman and crew chief that were fantastic, along with a service manager that stayed in touch during the whole job. We couldn't have ask for more with the crew we had. As far as price is concerned, we were so impressed with the owner Tim Kelly, that gave us the quote and we had several referrals from people we knew, that we did not get a second bid. I don't know if this would have been the lowest price, but I did feel it was fair.
Description of Work: Painted inside of house. Did some trim work. Refurbished cabinets. Took down old wallpaper and textured.

+ -1 moreContact was easy. Scheduling screwed up and then corrected. Workers came and painted Fri. & Sat. During house wash, washed a light off the outside and got water in the kitchen. They replaced the light after I had to contact them about it. The contact person (Kelly) has a team of Hispanics working for him that are quick, but left garbage in my yard, had to be stopped from flooding the kitchen, and never came back to seal where the new wood met the front wall (that they were suppose to do). I contacted them, and they were suppose to come, but never did. This was last April. The house looks like it was never painted. The paint is falling off. Especially on the North side.
Description of Work: Fix and replace rotten wood on the outside front and side of house. Wash, prime and painted the exterior.
