RJ Construction LLC

We have a contract with this company for a roof replacement. The contract was organized with their Lenexa Office on Widmer Rd. Funds have already been dispersed. Last week when we followed up we were told that the Lenexa office had been closed. Several days later (after many attempts to contact the company, which is headquartered in Arlington, TX) we were contacted by their Production Manager who assured us that the project would proceed. Materials were to be delivered Friday the 29th and the work was to be performed the following day (today). The material did not arrive. We called the production manager and were told that although the company had received the funds the owner had not purchased the materials and so the project was/is in limbo. Attempts to contact the owner or the main office have been fruitless.

From start to finish I was extremely happy with the work and level of communication. After severe knocked my neighbor's tree onto my house, my first call was to the insurance company and next to RJ Construction. The entire team at RJ worked with my insurance company after the roof was replaced to get every last dollar from the depreciation they held back. A crew arrived at 6:30am to start with the tear off and they were done with the entire roof within 12 hours. A few days later their gutter people came out and put up brand new screened in gutters. A project manager was out a few days after that to inspect the work and make sure all the debris was picked up. Outstanding job by the whole team.

From start to finish, Robert and his team were exceptionally professional, courteous and all-around FANTASTIC! We are so very pleased by their hard work and the beautiful results, thereof! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! A++++

It went very well. The work done on roof deck was excellent. they did a really good job so that I won't leak and that it drains properly after a rain. They came back to fix a cosmetic problem I noticed and the did it quickly and went above and beyond to ensure I was satisfied.

Everything went great! We had to reschedule, but the project manager was very responsive. They arrived early, worked fast, and cleaned up. Very professional. The whole job (fascia board and gable wire barriers) was done in less than two hours since there were different teams dedicated to each issue we had. We were very pleased and will definitely use RJ Construction in the future.

Took about 8 weeks. Project manager I worked with was almost instantly responsive to any and all questions and concerns. Texting worked best, but a call was returned ASAP.

We own 2 properties in Wylie which both sustained a massive amount of damage in the April hail storm. I originally worked with a roofing contractor who said he could support us with all repairs only to learn later that he wanted us to fight our insurance company to add O&P so they could increase their profits. I understand why the request but I was in a huge battle already with just trying to get enough money to pay for the damage. After several weeks of stress and tears, I realized that I needed to hire a contractor who could honestly handle a large loss project. I reached out to a few contacts and somehow magically found Robert Jordan. Upon our first conversation, I was instantly impressed with Robert's professionalism. He suggested I not agree to work with him until I researched his company thoroughly and invited me to read all reviews online possible. He also directed me to view photos online of his work and then agreed to meet with me in a couple of days. I continued to be impressed during our meeting and decided quickly to partner with Robert. As a reminder, we own 2 properties, 1 in which my mother lives. Because her home was almost completely destroyed, she was relocated to a THIRD floor apartment. Robert knew this and began work promptly to get her back home and comfortable. He walked me through the processes of insurance claims, he maintained close communication with me, and he explained how and when repairs would take place. Honestly, before Robert was in the picture, I was an hysterical mess... he changed everything!!!! Now, to the actual work performed. Robert assigned us a project manager who we really enjoyed working with. He was professional and experienced, and we were thrilled at how quickly he was getting things started. Unfortunately, the project manager had to leave the job for personal reasons; however, Robert quickly had a new project manager assigned and never skipped a beat. We were concerned because we really liked the original project manager.. but WOW... James the new PM was incredible. Professional, friendly, punctual and had an eye for details. When I would want something changed, James NEVER made me feel like a burden and always wanted to ensure we were happy. Which we were!!!!! I just can't say enough about Robert and James. I honestly pray that someone who is in a horrible situation that feels hopeless sees this review and knows that they have options. Robert CAN and WILL help you!

It's difficult to know how to grade this job. I could easily give it a C or D, except Robert Jordan did work with me to make a botched job right. I waited 7 months after the hail storm thinking the houses that had tornado and hail damage the spring of 2016 would mostly be taken care of. Apparently, that was not the case. The roofing crew and the (supposedly) Hardie-certified siding crew that worked on my house were clearly subpar. The siding crew totally botched replacing the siding, requiring repair to their work and requiring that the entire house be painted (the painting crew was great). I had paid extra for colored Hardie siding to avoid the paint job. During both the roofing and siding replacements the crews tromped down my bushes and made no attempt during the shingle removal to protect any of the landscaping. Cleanup after the shingle job was poor and I still find nails and singles in my landscaping. A second crew had to be sent on both the roof job and the siding to repair the jobs the first crews had botched. During the 6 weeks these repairs were done I saw an RJ supervisor maybe 3 or 4 times for just a few minutes on each visit, and there was no crew supervision that I could detect. It was clear to me that RJ had more jobs underway than they had supervisors to cover. Why am I giving it a B instead of a D? Because Robert Jordan worked with me to make things right including sending a second roofing crew, a second siding crew, and also painting the house (which was not in the original contract but was required because the siding crew used the wrong type of nails on the Hardie board). I believe this company is honest, but took on more work than it could handle following the tornado and hail damage, resulting in a poor result on my house because the crews that were used were not up to par and the crew supervision was practically non-existent.

I highly recommend RJ Construction! My insurance company wanted work and an inspection done within ten days or they would cancel my HO policy. Trent immediately responded and came over the same day. The insurance inspector said there were missing shingles - there were none. Trent produced a professional illustrated report indicating that the roof needed no work at present and had many years of life remaining. And he even waived his usual fee Thank you Trent!

It went well. There was a little miscommunication between the contractors and RJ but the issues were solved quickly.

It was a long process, but well worth it to me. The house was built in 1966 and still had original wall paper, paneling, flooring and in some places, paint. I wanted it open and light and I am so pleased with the work Robert and his workers have done. First, they zipped me up in the other end of the house, to keep the dust on their side, and then ripped and tore out walls, cabinets, flooring....all the old stuff. They added sturdy beams to the ceiling to support the roof, cans all over the place to give me light, took away the fireplace hearth, put in a huge island in the kitchen area, new cabinets, sink, stove, the works. I have beautiful light granite counter tops and window sills, new tile floor in the laundry room and hard wood floors that look like driftwood all over the rest. I wanted a sea shore look, so they painted the island a beautiful blue. The cabinets are kind of a light sand color, as are the walls. One of the best things they did for me was to wall up a large closet in the garage that shared a kitchen wall, and put a new door on the kitchen side and turn it into a pantry that I can actually step into. It has shelves on 3 sides and is so much better than the dark narrow hole that used to be called a pantry. And.....a light goes on, when the door is opened. Magic!! The workers were so great. Ben put up with all my indecisions and requests, Jamaica Jim put my TV on the wall and all the wires in the hall closet. They did so many things that were not even talked about when this all began and were so good to me. I am so grateful for everything and I smile everyday, when I look around me. I would hire them again in a New York minute!

It was fine. He did a good job. He said the roof was fine. Overall, the experience was fine. The worker was nice. There is nothing he could have done differently.

RJ Construction was suggested by my insurance agent as a reputable contractor who produced good results. Robert worked well with my insurance company to not only repair my home but make many improvements along the way. The storm damage required part of the structure be torn down and re-framed. The rest of the home was gutted and rebuilt. Several new roof trusses had to be built. The roof was re-decked with radiant barrier and shingled, with ridge vents added. The exterior was re-bricked half way up with Hardie plank siding above. Custom vinyl framed argon filled windows were installed. A new electric breaker panel and wiring was installed. New HVAC ducting was installed. Blown in foam insulation was used on all exterior walls. New sheetrock was hung throughout. New doors were hung and trim installed. Beautiful custom maple kitchen, bathroom and living room cabinets were installed and finished. Gorgeous granite countertops were installed in kitchen and baths. Master bath tub was upgraded to custom porcelain tiled walk-in shower with sliding glass doors. Kitchen back-splash was tiled. Beautiful high quality engineered wood flooring was laid in the living room and kitchen, porcelain tile was laid in bathrooms and entryway. Carpet and thick padding were laid in all bedrooms. New light fixtures, plumbing fixtures, water heater and garage door were installed. The project took a little longer than I would've hoped but considering the scope of work performed that wasn't surprising. RJ used quality materials and subcontractors who seemed to care about their workmanship. Robert was easy to work with, responsive to my requests and made good suggestions throughout the process. My home is now nicer, more comfortable, energy efficient, quieter and better constructed than it had been. I would definitely recommend RJ Construction.

Their front man came by to do a free estimate after we had a near miss from a F2 tornado. While we did not have damage from the tornado, we had extensive damage both outside and inside from previous storms. After talking with and getting an estimate from our insurance agent, we contacted R J Construction to work up a complete estimate and contract. After working around a scheduled vacation and a stormy weekend, we paid the down payment and R J delivered the materials the day before the work was started. The work crews arrived early the next day and finished with cleanup by mid afternoon. The work crews were courteous and used good noise discipline while working and during clean up. The final payment was within the terms of the contract. Overall, I and my wife are very pleased with the work. The quality workmanship is apparent even from the street.

Robert Jordan (the RJ of RJ Construction) sat down with my wife and i and talked us through the process. He gave us a quote. After a week of getting other quotes, we came back to RJ Construction being our best choice. There were other companies that were significantly higher. Others were about the same. However, for the quality of work they were going to do, materials and warranty, we felt sure that they were a great company to work with. We got better shingles and a ridge vent as part of the job, ensuring our roof is more durable, lasts longe, and, as a side benefit, our house is cooler! Throughout the process, they were professional, responsive and did the job right. They were careful not to damage any of our plantings or landscaping in the process. They cleaned up well and left our house looking like the best on the block. Thank you Robert for a great job. You are the best and we highly recommend your work.
