Very impressed with owner, sales representative and employees.
Description of Work: Representative worked with us on the cost estimate. Roofing materials delivered one day and workers arrived following day. Work was performed in a timely manner. Entire project was left very clean and all trash hauled away. Owner of company worked with us on the insurance and helped us in matters we were unaware of. Would not hesitate to recommend this company.

Quality Tops Roofing, Inc. had performed a repair on our roof a couple of years ago and were very honest about the work that was needed at that time. So, after a hailstorm this spring, we asked them to return to assess the roof. The same employee who did the appraisal a couple of years ago performed this year's appraisal and told us that our roof (which had been installed in the mid-1980s) needed to be replaced. The appraiser helped us in working with our insurance company and the installers were prompt, clean and courteous. I would not hesitate to hire Quality Tops Roofing, Inc. again.
Description of Work: Quality Tops Roofing replaced the weather-damaged roof on our house and on a carport at the back of our property. The roof replacement on the house took one day; however, the roof on the carport took two days because some materials needed had not yet arrived.

The work went great. Bruce Sabine was very patient in handling the details and providing multiple shingle samples. He answered all my questions. The roofing crew was courteous, did great work, and cleaned up after themselves. I'm glad I chose Quality Tops.

Everything went fine as described above.
Description of Work: Bruce came out a few weeks ago to inspect my roof for possible damage and to give advice/estimate on the possible removal of a gutter-like device attached to my roof. He was professional and courteous. No damage was found and I appreciate his insight on the gutter-device. If we ever need future roofing inspections/work done, I will call this company again. Thanks!

To repeat what I have already written, things went fine.
Description of Work: The roof had been severely damaged by hail. There was additional damage to the chimney which was believed to have been caused by squirrels. The roofers arrived when they said they would, and repaired the roof. Unfortunately, the people I had hired to cut back my trees from the room to allow the roofers more room to work came the same day instead of three days beforehand as scheduled. The roofers worked with them so that both jobs could be completed. Naturally, I did not climb on to the roof to inspect the repairs carefully, but my neighbor did. We had used the same roofer. The roof looked fine to me from the ground, and it looked fine to him from the roof.

Bruce stoppped by my house on a Thursday a few days before my scheduled appointment as he was in the neighborhood. He left me a few meessages at home but I was at work. I called hime later that evening and he said "I am a roofer and I would want to sell you a roof but, your roof does not need to be replaced". I was so relieved as I had received conflicting opinion from 2 other very well know roofing companies and was about to call my adjuster before getiing one last opinion. Thank you Bruce for your honesty and diligence!
Description of Work: Contacted Quality tops roofing based on the reviews on Angies list after getting conflicting opinions on replacing my roof after hail damage in my neighborhood. The lady who took my call was very professional and patient.

My home had suffered major hail damage when severe weather moved through the area on June 21st. I had plastic turtle vents, which were completely destroyed by the hail and heavy rain was forcast for the following night. I located Quality Tops Roofing through Anglie's list and called them about emergency repairs. Bruce informed me that if they did the emergency repairs that I had to sign an agreement to have them do the roof repair since they were getting so many requests. I reluctantly went ahead and signed the paper since I am too old to be up on the roof doing repairs. I did this based on the excellent ratings on Angie's list. Emergency repairs were done well and the person they send out was on the roof for a couple of hours. I was a little surprised to see the emergency repair bill for $600.00, which I thought was high. I had provided Bruce a copy of the insurance estimated and Bruce came out to bid on doing the roof and his estimate was exactly what the depreciated amount the insurance allowed plus my $1000 deductible. There was a metal roof over the porch, which was included in the cost ($400) and I had specifically asked Bruce if they could paint this after replacement or would I need to get a painter to do this. He stated that they did not do painting. I also asked if they could use metal turtle vents and Bruce said that they would put three additional ones in since the roof did not have enough ventilation, which I liked. I signed the estimate and I assumed they would be replacing the metal roof and I would be responsible for getting it painted. Interesting thing was it was not listed anywhere in the estimate. I received a call about a week before they were to start. They delivered the suppies in my drive one day before they were scheduled to start and placed them exactly where I had asked. They were scheduled to start on Wednesday August 10th, so I made arrangements to be home. Around 9:00 in the morning no one had arrived and I had not received a call. I called Quality Tops Roofing and asked if the crew was on its way. They said they would have to check and would call me back. After about 20 minutes I received a call apologizing for the mix up and they said they were running behind and it would be the next day before they could start. Since the temperature had been over 100 ever day, I cut them some slack and said it would not be a problem even though I had take a day off from work. Next morning (Thursday)...they finally showed up after 9:00, which is late for a roofing crew. They went to work removing the shingles and getting the tar paper down on the roof since it looked like it was going to rain around noon. They worked until 2:30 and the the foreman told me they were going to break for lunch. I did not think much about this until they came back about two hours later and still took another hour break. I agree it was a hot day but a three hour break? They started back to work at 5:30 working until around 9:30 at night. They cleaned up a little, but still left gloves in my front yard and a drink cup on my front window sill. The foreman knocked on the door and said they would be back around 7:00 in the morning. Next morning (Friday)...no one arrived until around 9:00. They started work and worked until 12:30 when they took a lunch break. It was another 3 hour break, with one worker going 4 hours. The workers worked hard when they worked and did a good job, but I was a bit surprised about their schedule. The workers finished around 10:30 at night, which is inconvienent for the owner. The workers did a good job of cleaning up and removed all of the debris and used the magnet to get all of the nails in the lawn and drive. I asked the foreman about the metal roof since it had not been replaced. He informed me that another crew handles the metal roof and that I should call the office in the morning. Saturday - I called Quality Tops Roofing and left a message about the metal roof not being done. Bruce returned my call about an hour later and told me that he had removed the cost of the metal roof from the estimate. This is not what I remember from our conversation when I signed the contract, but after checking the contract there was no mention of the metal roof. Since it was not on the siged contract there was not much that I could do, so I agreed to look at the metal roof to see if there was any substantial damage where it needed to be replaced. I inspected it later in the day and found there was no dents from the hail, but it did need to be repainted. I informed Quality Tops Roofing about this. Saturday (con't) - Tim Cox called around 12:00 and asked if he could come out in the afternoon and inspect the job. He arrived a little late, which was not an issue, but then when I went to make the payment by credit card he said that there would be a 2% surcharge fee ($236.00). This was also news to me since I had asked Bruce if they took credit cards and was not informed about this additional charge in the beginning. I ended up writing a check, but lost out on getting the points on my credit card for what I believe was an overpiced job since the metal roof ($400) was included in the insurance estimate that I had provided to them. I have also not received the second half of the insurance money since the mortgage company has this in escrow until repairs are done. I thought the price was high because I was over a barrel since they had a signed agreement because of the emergency repairs. There were just too many things that I did not like about dealing with Quality Tops Roofing and that I why I am indicating that I would not use them again even though the work quality was good. I also wanted to add that Bruce has filed for a materials cost adjustment, which is above 2,000. This increases the price for the roof job up to around 15K, which I feel is really excessive.

Bruce came out and gave me an rough estimate for replacing my roof. After the insurance adjuster gave me his quote for all necessary repairs, Bruce came out and took exact measurements and reattached the broken ridge vent so that rain would not cause more damage. The roof was replaced as promised but the patio cover was delayed as the panels had to be ordered. After the roof and then after the patio cover, Bruce came out and inspected the work to make sure it was all done correctly and made sure I was satisfied with their work. I would recommend them.
Description of Work: Replaced my roof and patio cover. Work was done as promised and crew cleaned up after themselves.

After significant research on Angie's List, I selected Quality Tops Roofing to complete roof and skylight repairs on my mother's house resulting from hail storms. I explained that I would be the liaison as my mother was struggling with several disabilities. Througout the process, the company was communicative and attentive. The initial start date was on a Monday, but had to be delayed to the next day--which was not a problem. The work was completed in a timely manner. The representatives were professional. According to my mother, the crew did a quick and thorough clean-up after the work was completed. Insurance paid for almost all of the repairs and Quality Tops Roofing (Tim) helped explain the ins and outs of working with the insurance company.

We had been experiencing roof leaks since moving into our house five years ago. The roof had been replaced 9 years ago and was under warranty by the re-roofer. Unfortunately, the re-roofer never quite seemed to fix all the leaks that would come out after major storms. Finally, we gave up and decided it would be better to use a new roofing company even if we would have to pay more for it. After looking at Angie's List we selected Quality Tops. From the first phone call to the last visit, that has proven to be an excellent decision. After the first call with Quality Tops, an appointment was set up for a couple of days later and Bruce came out and completed a full roof inspection, paying special attention to the problem areas we had highlighted. After the inspection, he walked me through what were issues, what weren't and what needed to be done. For the most important issue - a roof leak in our bedroom - (something that the previous roofing company had been out several times to fix at $200 a pop) he guaranteed they would take care of it. Overall, the price he quoted for all work and materials was below the threshold I had set for needing more quotes and, based on the impression Bruce made, his responsiveness and the price, I asked him to proceed. A few days later, Time came out and quickly and quietly completed the work. That was a few months ago. I waited to submit a report until we had a few good storms to make sure there were no issues and... I am very happy to report no issues! Yay! We did, at one point, hear a drip that we weren't sure was coming from our roof or outside our window. Tim came out, examined the situation and found that there was a problem but that it was cause not by the roof but by a clogged gutter. He cleaned out the gutter for us - free of charge - and also recommended solutions so we wouldn't need to worry about it again. Finally, when our area experienced a bad hail storm a few weeks ago, we called Quality again (a number of our neighbors have had their roofs replaced and we had received many messages and advertisements by companies offering to do the same). Bruce came back out and inspected our roof and found it to be in good shape. Had he not, we would certainly have chosen Quality Tops to work with to get it repaired or replaced as needed. I highly recommend them. They are true professionals.

Our overall experience was very helpful!
Description of Work: Description of Work: Bid for Skylight Dome that was cracked and needed to be replaced. Bruce from Quality Tops Roofing, Inc. was punctual and very professional. Not only did he inspect the skylight but also the condition of our roof. We were happy to hear that our roof would not need replacing for another 5-7 years but the skylight dome definitely had a very large crack and would need to be replaced. He took his time with us and was very responsive to all of our questions even though this would be a small job for his company! Bruce even made a suggestion to us that would save us some money!! We were very appreciative of his honesty. Quality Tops Roofing is definitely a company I would trust to have work on my roof. Another reason I chose them was their Profile of being affiliated with the North Texas Roofing Contractors Assn, GafTek Certified, Master Single Applicator CertainTeed, Eco Friendly Accreditation, plus an A+ score with the Better Business Bureau! We ended up not using them because we took Bruce's suggestion to save some money but we will definitely give them a call when it's time for our roof to be replaced!

On May 24th a tornado touched down in our neighborhood. Almost all the roof shingles on the front side of the house were severely damaged or blown away. After being inundated with drive by roofers, I decided to check Angies List to find a quality roofer. Quality Tops Roofing had a very favorable review by almost every customer. Upon completion of the repairs I found that I pretty much agreed with all the positive remarks quoted by former customers. The company was professional, courteous, and the repairs were excellent. Albert and his associate did such a good job that I couldn't tell the repaired section from the old sections. The clean up was very complete and thorough. The cost of the repairs I felt represented a fair price for the quality of work performed. My only issue was the time line and communication. At the time of the estimate I was informed that it would be around 10 days before a crew would be dispatched. 14 days passed and I still did not receive a call to confirm the appointment. I felt that I should have received courtesy call with a new time line if their work load was running behind. This I would have fully understood considering all the damaged roofs in the metroplex due to recent severe storms. Although Tim who is in charge of the labor crews, was very professional in his explanation and had a crew out the next day. Other than this on minor hitch, I am very happy and satisfied with the company, their work, and their employees. I would highly recommend their services.

The workers arrived after I got out of work, working with my schedule. They were on the roof for about 45 minutes (hammering and sealing). Then the worker came to my door and said there was not much wrong and since they were done early, would I like some money back (they did not put in 2 hours). I said yes, and three weeks later there was a check in my mailbox for 50$. They were nice, went right to work, and then spent time after talking to me about my roof. When I need a roofing person, I will call them!

Bruce with Quality Tops Roofing was contacted about replacing the roof on our home. He was very punctual in his communications, on-time for our meeting and was the most informative of the five Angie's List "A" rated roofers I contacted. After receiving all of the bids, Bruce's # wasn't the lowest, but he agreed to match the price of the lowest bidder in order secure the project. I could not be happier with the results. He anticipated a 3 day installation, but after his crew showed up and got started, they completed the project in two days. The lead-installer was very well informed, well spoken and took the time to ensure that as little of the landscaping was impacted by the removal and/or installation process. His team did an outstanding job of cleaning our yard multiple times during the day to ensure that the trash and other debris didn't blow into our neighbor's yards. If we needed to get in or out of the garage, his team cleared the necessary path. They regularly used a magnet to pick up any stray nails to prevent any inadvertent tire punctures. Once the project was completed, I had some concerns about some cosmetic scratches to the gutters on the house and that some of the shingles didn't lay as flat as they should. I pointed this out to Tim Cox, the Project Manager/Quality Control liaison. Tim agreed that some of the areas should be touched up and that they'd have their specialist contact me to make the repairs and ensure that the project was completed to my satisfaction. Because I travel extensively, I was very difficult to reach. Bruce's team repeatedly attempted to contact me to schedule the work. Finally, after about 30 days, we made the appointment and his QC specialist came to the house. Again, I was absolutely thrilled with the result. They handled the touch-up work promptly and professionally. I would absolutely recommend Quality Tops Roofing.

As indicated above, Quality tops came out same day of the 1:30 AM storm and made necessary emergency repairs to mitigate further damage, and wind was still blowing 50 mph at that time. Insurance adjuster declared house and barn roof both total losses due to windstorm damage. Quality Tops Roofing returned this month, May 2011, and completed the re-roof of both structures. Their roofing crew had been with them more than 20 years. Those folks were the very best. Worked in such a focused, efficient, productive and professional manner. The new roof looks fabulous, so much better than what was there that got blown away. THANKS Quality Tops. You folks are as good as it gets in the roofing business. Would definitely hire again and recommend to all who need high quality roofing work at a very fair, reasonable price. Very responsive and great to deal with all the way through the unwanted difficulties.
Description of Work: Quality Tops Roofing did a complete re-roof of our house and a small barn. Windstorm/Hail damage to house and barn in April 2011. Both roofs declared total losses. Fantastic! I really really appreciate the punctionality and quick quality service as I had to take off from the office to meet him. Honest opinion of the damage and didn't try to oversell me on anything. Highly recommend at least getting a Free Estimate from them!
Description of Work: Bruce came out (right when he said he would) to take a look at my roof as I had lost a shingle in the previous storms we had and got a little hail in it. He hopped up on the roof and walked it all over, came back down and said the shingle would be easy and was in good shape and he also found another with a tear in it and a small hole in the roof. Also said that there was no significant hail damage at all. Quoted me a price to replace the shingle, do the other repairs, and caulk it all up and would take him about 20 min. I said go for it and he got to work, finished it up, gave me some tips on my roof shingle company (to beware of bubbling) and thanked me. Excellent, super quick service!

I called and made an appointment for Bruce to come out and evaluate my roof leak problem. The first appointment did not happen and the receptionist was quick to admit the mistake and promptly rescheduled Bruce to come out. Bruce came out and evaluated the roof problem. He advised me what he thought could be causing the slow water seepage trouble. Bruce was able to quickly repair the trouble the same day and advised me if that didn't fix the problem, they would be happy to come back. After the next couple of rains I have not noticed the seepage. I feel the repair correctly fixed the leak I was having!

Quality Tops Roofing estimate was on the money. Leaks are fixed, shingles, turbines and sofit vents all match. Showed up on time for estimate and for repairs. Quality of work was excellent and I am completely satisfied. I would use them again and highly recommend them to anyone.

This is my first time to buy the BigDeal from Angie's list, but it ended up not really a BigDeal at all. Bought the BigDeal of Quality Tops Roofing Inc. from the Angie's list for 199.00$. The normal price is 349$ for 2 man hours of Roof Maintenance, including a visual review, securing loose shingles, inspect and do general cleaning of roof, gutters and downspouts plus caulking any voids in flashing and minor damages. Made the schedule for the day of 4/19/11 from noon to 5pm (5 hours range???). Waited from noon to 3pm, then Tim called and said he's so busy and rescheduled from 5pm to dawn. Tim called again around 4:30pm and said unable to come due to tornado forecast. I rescheduled w/ Tim for the next day 4/20/11 from 5pm to dawn. We are living in the gated community. When Tim came, the guard in the front gate called me to let him in at 6:30pm (I was unable to be home at that time). My wife came home at 7pm and every thing was done. She said she only saw one man working. I checked my roof the next day. The only thing Tim did is caulking around the chimney (I told him I have a leak around the chimney). The roof and gutters still look dirty. 349$ for One Man 30 minutes of Roof Maintenance is too much. Even 199$ is still too expensive. I doubt it if he could caulking the chimney and doing the inspection in 30 minutes.
Description of Work: Dos: Caulking the leaking around the chimney. Don'ts: Cleaning the roof and gutters and downspouts, inspecting the whole roof.
