Scott arrived on Friday with one helper and removed all the old insulation, debris and rodent droppings from the attic. They arrived on time Monday morning and spent the better part of the day cleaning, sanitizing and sealing air leaks in the ceiling and then installed 15 " of blown in fiberglass insulation. They were on time both Friday and Monday and worked late on Monday to complete the job. I was lucky as I had attic access from the garage so they didn't have to run their hoses through the house. I received other estimates for this work and the other companies just went up and looked around from the top of the attic stairs and agreed I needed new insulation. One company (Champion) never sent me a bid for the work and another said just to spray over the existing mess. Home Depot would not remove the old insulation. Scott took the time to climb around in the attic and look around to really see what needed to be done and made recommendations on what would work best from me. He broke down his estimate so that I could see what different depths of insulation would cost, sanitizing, air gap sealing, attic stairway sealing and of course the removal part would cost. If I need any additional energy audits or other work that Perkins does I would not hesitate to use them again. Although he was not the cheapest estimate the old saying is you get what you pay for and I got what I wanted at a reasonable prices.
