I can't say enough good things about the work these guys did. Really amazing, and we are beyond pleased with our new 2nd story deck and door. It is beautiful, and was a very good value for the price. It is large enough to park 2 cars underneath and was worth every penny.

I looked up Outback on Angie's list and went to their website. I used the online method of contacting them - Terry got back to me quickly and was extremely friendly and professional over the phone. He made an appointment to visit and provide a quote as soon as we were both available - unfortunately we made a decision before our scheduled appointment so we were unable to get his quote. He was very responsive and courteous.

There were three crews that performed this work and they all did a great job, were very courteous, and cleaned up the worksite daily. The carpenters took a while to complete the shed/roof cover but they did a fantastic job and added a lot of custom features to the cover which made the wait very worthwhile. They used 8" posts and cut scrolls on the ends of the beams which really gave the cover a great custom look once it was finished. They also did a good job of tying the cover into our existing roof which had some challenges due to the low roof height and a chimney that they had to work around. The stone crew was in and out in just a few days and they did an amazing job! They were very efficient and meticulous about placing and shaping the stones and made sure that the finished patio was level and beautiful. They are true professionals! The fence crew also did a nice job and the fence that they built easily met our expectations. The owner, Terry Winters was great to work with. He visited the job site pretty much daily and took a lot of time consulting with us to make sure that the final product met our expectations. He handled getting the City permits and passed all inspections with flying colors. He answered all of our calls, texts, and relayed information to his crews immediately. We would definitely work with Terry again and highly recommend Outback Creations!

My wife and I wanted an aesthetic pergola to enhance the value of our home and provide a place to entertain guests. We shopped Angie?s List and settled on Outback Creations due to the company?s positive reviews. Terry (the owner) came to our home and provided an estimate of approximately $5,800. Shortly thereafter, he provided a sketch for submittal to the HOA. Within a month, the HOA approved the addition to the home. Terry called and explained that the price had increased to $6,800, as it was necessary to increase the size of the pergola due to the design of our home. A month had elapsed since our initial meeting, and I could not recall all the particulars discussed. Therefore, he left a contract in my mailbox for review. The specifications were incorrect: 6x6 posts, 2x12 beam, and etcetera. When questioned about the inaccuracies, Terry said he must have been in a rush. A day or so later, we met to finalize a contract. I should note that an Angie?s List discount was not available. Prior to signing the contract, I also inquired about his special on Angie?s List: ?$500 for $1,000 Credit Toward a New Outdoor Living Project.? He said the special/discount was meant for more elaborate projects like fireplaces, kitchens, and stone patios. Get it installed for less with this refreshing offer! We decided to move forward with the project irrespective of the aforementioned misgivings. On Tuesday, September 15, 2015, construction of the pergola began and did not conclude until Friday, September 25, 2015. The work should have been completed within 7 business days. Initially, the crew consisted of three individuals. On a few days, however, there were only two, especially toward the end. During construction, his crew accidentally drilled too far into the brick, piercing the living room wall. One of the lattice panels were installed incorrectly. There were gaps where the wood did not align. The message that follow was sent on 9/23/2015, via Angie?s List and illustrate our concerns: ?I just examined the pergola and the basic structure is okay. However, the lattice panels are not compliant with our contract. For instance, there is a gap between the two lattice panels. Additionally, the craftsmanship that we wanted is absent. The lattice panels appear hastily constructed to the pergola. One of the two lattice panels is installed incorrectly: The rough side, with the visible nails/clasps, is facing outward. The outer border (outline) of the lattice panels are uneven and do not meet/join skillfully. The lattice panels should mirror one another. This project began Tuesday, September 15, 2015, and remains in progress. If lattice panels are inappropriate for this pergola, we do not want them forced to fit. The most important feature for us is an aesthetic and symmetrical pergola.? The following message was sent on 9/24/2015: ?How would this be remedied? We want an aesthetic pergola that adds value to the home and enhances outdoor leisure activities. To ensure that this project improves, I think you should be on sight for quality control. Sections of the lattice panels stain do not resemble the basic structure of the pergola. A few panels are splintered. As discussed earlier, the drill bit drilled a hole in my living room wall.? In the end, the project was able to be saved. [Sending messages with pictures via Angie?s List was very helpful.) However, I will have to pay a professional to repair the living room wall. The added $380 was to redirect sprinkler pipes. We would not use the company again.

Deck and Pergola were built first and completed in a week. Better than we thought. Looks fantastic. Terry Winters, owner was very helpful, friendly and professional. The flagstone path was completed the next week and in about three days. All the work was done correctly and as promised. Looks great!

It went extremely well. The workers reported as promised. They worked each day until the work was done. Nothing was damaged during their work and they did a good job cleaning up including cleaning a slight amount of over spray from our windows.. The head of the crew was very personable, professional and easy to communicate with. We would most certainly have Terry Winters, owner of Outback Creations, do a project for us again.

I called Terry, the owner, for an estimate on a $10K deck and pergola combination for my home. He handed the phone to his salesman, Grant. He and I scheduled a time for him to come by. I had to cancel two days before the agreed upon time. I did so by calling the number Grant gave me and leaving a voicemail. In the VM I asked for a call back and gave two alternate times the two following days that I could meet. I never received a call back from Terry or Grant. I waited a week and a half. On 7/25 I called Terry again. He was headed out of town for vacation. He texted me Grant's number. I called Grant. He was also headed out for vacation, but set an appointment with me for Monday 8/1 to come by for the estimate. He no showed me. Today is 8/6. Still no word from Terry or Grant. This company's pictures look great. I'm sure they build nice decks. But I'm not sure I want to be ignored and treated like my job isn't big enough for them to call me back. If they treat me this way during the estimate phase, how punctual are they going to be in the construction phase? I wrote them a short email through their Contact Us page on their website to let them know why they would not be getting my business.

Great quality work, reasonable price

Representative showed up on time & gave a detailed bid of what their company could do for us. In the end we decided to go with another contractor, due to the complicated nature of our roof line. I'm sure they do wonderful work, we just needed a structural engineer to make us feel more at ease with the process.

The whole process went very smooth. Kirk Perry was always on time and had the time to explain procedures and answer all our questions. He listened to what we wanted and then led us through a process that had outstanding results. We are extremely happy. We would hire this company again and totally recommend their services. Their prices are fair and their workmanship is very good.

In October 2014, our temporary pergola blew over in a Texas windstorm. We spend so much time on our back patio, we felt that we needed a permanent patio cover. We had no builder contacts, so we went to Angie’s List to find a contractor and picked Outback Creations because of the positive customer feedback. Terry Winters came to our house and provided a couple different options with a couple different price points. He was willing to adjust plans and design to fit our budget. He also provided a sketch of the project to submit to our HOA for approval. The build was delayed due to rain, but as soon as the weather cleared up, the build progressed quickly and efficiently. Two employees completed the project over four days. They were in our backyard precisely at 8am each morning and worked their tails off each day. They were very polite and professional. We absolutely love the finished project and are enjoying the shade from the Texas sun. We look forward to hosting guests this summer and have received so many compliments from family and friends. We would recommend Terry and Outback Creations to anyone looking to build and add to their backyard.

Contractor came out for estimate and provided ideas for both existing backyard porch slab extension, staining, flagstone, stamped concrete, and cedar deck. Also provided estimate for replacement of arbor structure. We chose the red cedar deck. Terry's carpenters were able to grade the deck structure so that it could cover both the existing porch slab and extend over a previous stoned porch. Purchase included two cedar benches, removal of the flagstone porch extension, and install of the deck. Terry's guys came out during some particularly icy and cold weather- thought I did not need to them to be so speedy- the deck was started and installed within a week of starting and within 3-4 weeks of the signed contract.

Terry was very responsive, helped us with the design and kept to his timeline. Very impressed with his crew and their good quality workmanship. They were thorough in their work, friendly, punctual and neat. We would definitely use Outback Creations again.

They did an excellent job. I had a custom design that I wished built that was rather specific and moderatly complex for a deck. They worked with me and made it happen, and for a reasonable price. They worked with me on the small touches that made the sunroom work, even though the space was tight and required some special thinking to make the idea work. They contributed suggestions that were good ideas and they accepted my suggestions and did their best to make it work the way I wished. The construction is sound and the sunroom has since survived two thunderstorms with out sign of a leak. I'd hire them again in a heartbeat.

Terry Winters of Outback Creations returned my initial call promptly and came by to give me a bid within a day even though it was the week before July 4th. He was very genuine & professional in his manner. He made some suggestions to the ideas we already had and they were the correct suggestions. His contractors were prompt, courteous, and kept the yard as neat as possible considering the scope of the remodel. We had a few unexpected things pop up (none of them Outback's fault) and they were resolved and taken care of promptly. They actually finished about a week earlier than we had thought and we love our new backyard. I would recommend Outback Creations and Terry Winters for any kind of outside renovation...decks, arbors, fences, etc...they do great work and the lines of communication are always open. Everything went very well. The crew was very thorough, friendly, and cleaned up after themselves. The work was done in a timely manner. We are very pleased.

Our finished patio is beautiful and even better than we imagined when talking through the design! Terry helped us to figure out the best design, shape and type of patio for our space and suggested some nice enhancements like a wood lattice cover to address our need for privacy on a patio space that faces our neighbors. We were impressed by the professional crew that was pulled together for both the wood arbor and the flagstone patio that are durable and very high quality. My only watch out is to be very clear going in what will be included in the quote and what will cost extra. We weren't as clear as we should have been and thought that the electrical wire to run a ceiling fan as well as the re-routing the sprinkler was included and we ended up paying several hundred dollars extra for each. Overall I'd recommend using this company for a beautiful and high quality space with professional team members all along the way. They weren't the cheapest but we're really happy that we decided to use them.

They were on time, they knew their products, they provided pictures of their previous jobs of what they had done. They knew what they were doing. They are very professional.

I got a mailing and I called the owner. I talked to him and ended up having him come to my house. I felt like I could trust him. They were on time. They did what they said they would do in the time when they said they would do it. They cleaned everything up. It looks nice. I was very happy with them.

Terry helped design the structure and guided my wife and I in implementing our ideas into the finished product. Terry employed professional carpenters and roofers. The lead carpenter explained what they steps they would take to build the structure. These people were serious about their work and it showed in the quality of the construction. All participants were curteous, they answed my questions,, and they were always punctual. We have no complaints.

Great. Work was completed on time and at cost. Kirk Perry kept us inform during the whole process. Not one complaint and would not hesitate to use them again.

Terry Winters came out to discuss our needs and expectations. He then coordinated with the other tradespeople to get the job done in a timely fashion. We had to have 3 sprinkler heads capped before the job could start. Terry made sure that he was there when the landscaper came to dig up and cap the sprinklers. The crew of 3 arrived early to begin digging up the new patio area and drilled holes in the foundation of the house to place the rebar to stabilize the new patio. They had to leave when they were finished on the first day because the flagstone was delivered to the house later than expected. They did arrive early the next morning and every morning after to finish the job. And by early, I mean 8:30 am! I haven't had anyone show up at my house to do any kind of work before 10:00 - if they showed up on time at all. All three of the men were very professional and courteous. I asked them to replace a few of the stones because I didn't like the way it was looking and they took care of it without issue (the concrete was still wet). The patio went in very quickly and my husband and I are very happy with it. My only complaint would be that my husband and I had to do a bit of cleanup after everything was done. We had pulled fairly large pieces of flagstone out of the grass before we mowed recently. And the dirt that they used to fill some low spots in the yard was full of dead grass, mesh for the concrete and wires that were pulled out of the yard. I am not counting this against them because I didn't complain to Terry and have them come back to clean this up. I would just advise anyone to walk around the area when the work is complete to be sure that they have removed anything you don't want left in your yard. This was really not a big issue. Overall, we are very pleased with the results and we would definitely recommend Outback Creations to anyone.

I had a very tight 2 week deadline. The weather was cold, icy, and snowy. They carpenter accomplished demo and all of the cedar work in 3 days. The carpenter was just one of the best I've ever seen or worked with. He cares about how things look, their functionality, and has a good design eye. He put a little arch on my patio gate, for instance, because it differentiated it from the railing and just looker nicer. The flagstone guys did the patio in two days on a Saturday and Sunday, and, of course, the cutting and piecing of that mosaic is an art. The owner Terry Winters was very easy to contact, always answering his phone directly, even at 9 at night when I expected only to leave a vm. Terry was communicative about the schedule and working with my work schedule and the people I had taking care of my dog while the work was being done. Terry also did the estimate for the project the very day he came to view it. He measured the patio and then wrote out the estimate on my dining table. He gave me three choices: all cedar, cedar plus composite wood patio, and cedar plus flagstone. No other bidder suggested the flagstone and the price was very good and I liked the idea of the natural and durable materials for the patio. Terry was concerned about my satisfaction throughout the job. Outback is a top notch group.

Their quote was a little higher. They were very helpful, and I wouldn't mind doing business with them. Their referrals were great, the product that we saw they had built were good, it just came down to money, and they were more expensive. Terry was a great guy. I talked with him in September and October.
