I contacted Leisure Pool because the number was on my pool equipment from the previous home owner. When he arrived, he looked at the motor and said that he would test the capacitor and see if that was the issue. If it was the capacitor then he said it would be $200 to replace it. When I balked at the price (I had been googling capacitors all weekend) he said that I should feel lucky that he was doing the repairs because other people in his industry would tell me that I needed a new motor. I explained to him that I knew it wasn?t the motor but if in fact it was then a new motor would cost the same as what he was charging me for the capacitor. John disagreed and said that a new motor would be $600. He then told me that he was going to grab a tester out of his truck and see if that was actually the problem. He returned with an old used dented capacitor and it worked. He then started to discuss my options for replacing the entire pool pump while he started to close up my equipment. I then asked him if he had just 'completed' the job and he said that he had. I asked him how much of his quoted price was labor and how much was the part. John became extremely agitated and said that he had told me the price before he began the work. I disagreed and said that he stated he was going to test it and we would go from there. The part that he had installed looked like a used TESTER part and he had been at my home for no more than 5 minutes. As a consumer, I wanted to know how much he was charging for labor. John stated that the part was $40 which made his labor $160. I told him that I felt the labor charge was excessive for the time and labor that he had done. John then called me a miserable person and a crook and stated that I had 'lured him' out to my home to cheat him. He continued to rant in a very aggressive way calling me several names and pointing his finger at me in front of my two children. I then told John that his behavior made me very uncomfortable and I did not appreciate his aggressive manner in front of my children. I asked him to leave my home immediately. He then said that there was a $95 service fee. I told him that this was never discussed previously. John then told me to drop dead and that he hoped the next person I called would 'screw me over royally'. I again asked John to leave my home and he then ripped the capacitor out of my motor with his bare hands and stormed off with my equipment open and wires still showing. I told John that if he damaged my property, I would contact an attorney and file suit against him. John then was visibly furious and replaced the old capasitor, ranting about me in front of my children the entire time. As he walked away, he slammed my gate and left. About 30 minutes later, John returned to my home and parked his truck in front of my house. I immediately called the police who informed me that John had also called out two units with him. John told the police officers that he wanted to have something on record in case a lawsuit was filed against him for the destruction of my property. He continued to rant to the police and call me names including a miserable person and a crook in front of my home and children. I told the police officer that I did not want him on my property and they asked him to leave. The officer stated that in his opinion, John had seen my home and my neighborhood and possibly assumed that he could take advantage because I might have 'more dollars than sense'. The officer stated that if John returned to my home to call them immediately and they would cite him for trespassing. I am an honest, hardworking Christian and was not attempting to cheat him out of a fair price. Even if we were disagreeing on the terms of the job, John's behavior was extremely unprofessional and very inappropriate in front of my young children. I am a single mother of two children and I feel he was attempting to take advantage of the situation. I would never call this company nor recommend them for any pool service.

Scheduled service time was for today. Technician showed up on time. My filter was at 30 PSI (s/b around 18-20). The filter was disassembled and found that the grids inside were not all operable. I was presented with options on what needed to be repaired to correct the issue (no pressure on selling me parts I didn't need). I elected to have all of the grids replaced. The work was completed and the system tested. I had several questions in regards to what I could do to keep the system in good condition. I was given a great introduction to pool 101, which will help me keep my system operating and save me money in the long haul. I really appreciate the work ethic of this company. I have used their services in the past and have never been disappointed. They back their work, will offer any suggestions to help you to understand how you can do the work and save money (5 months ago I called my home warranty company to have them look at my spa as it was not working correctly. that company told me that they would have to dig a trench in my yard to repair the pipes that lead to the spa to repair it, est cost was $2,500. I called Leisure Time Pool service, John came out and told me what the issue was, my jets were clogged. He said he could clear them, or I could. He walked me through how to do it. I paid him a service call fee, and proceeded to clear out the jets my self. Total cost - $70.00). This is a family owned company and their results are extraordinarily and consistently above any other pool company that I have dealt with. I will continue to use this company even though my home warranty company has my pool under contract.
