Independent Overhead Doors

I have been using Independent Overhead Doors for all my investment properties for the last 25 years. Last week I called on a Monday and scheduled an appointment on Thursday. I had to take a day off work to meet someone to fix my garage door. Shane met me and after looking at the garage door opener, took out his phone and started to show me openers at Home Depot. He told me I could go buy an opener and then call in again and schedule someone to install it. I was a little confused since previously, the person that was sent out had equipment and was ready to sell me an opener and install it. After a bit more discussion, I asked if IOD had stopped selling openers. Shane then got mad and told me he had 5 other jobs that day and would have to come back later. So I asked again if he could do the job or not, and he agreed to do it but was furious. The good thing about an angry installer is he got it done in 30 minutes. When I checked the opener, there were no lights when it closed. Shane told me openers don't come with bulbs. I'd have to put them in myself. So now, this 70 year old woman has to climb a ladder and install the bulbs. Exactly what I was trying to avoid. I called Doug after the installer left and told him I was very disappointed and won't be using his company again. Doug said, "Then why are you calling me?" This company is closed and only going through the motions of pretending to offer any services to customers anymore. Save yourself a lot of aggravation and call someone else.

Excellent transaction. I was very impressed with their professionalism. They ordered a specialized door for me and when it came in and installed it quickly. Great service as well as excellent price. Highly recommend!

Technician was able to visit the same day as my call to them. He arrived that morning and completed the repair within about an hour. He also answered my questions about possibly replacing my door and opener with a more modern model.

It's working great. They were punctual and cleaned up after themselves. They didn't take too long to get it done. The workers were fine.

The spring in the garage broke in the morning. They were at my home within 2 hours of my call. They replace the single spring with two springs, checked all parts of the garage door, and made all the necessary adjustments. I appreciated the quick ad courteous service. Cary did a great job.

I called 45 minutes before they closed on a Saturday evening. Two guys came out 30 minutes later and fixed our garage door in about 45 minutes!!

He did a good job. He came out very quickly and repaired the issue we had. I feel like he went above and beyond on checking the safety and efficiency of our door.

Cory came out. Told me the springs were new and the rollers were high-quality ball-bearing type, and just needed adjustment and lube. Charged me for a service call ($125), and told me to get a refund on the package I purchased - i didn't need it. Very big smile.

Everything was completed on time and met our expectations. Doug worked with my husband on specs for the framing and the doors fit perfectly. We are very satisfied.

The keypad wasn't working and he fixed it. He was here like 5 minutes, but he did a good job. He didn't replace anything, it had to be reprogrammed, which I probably could have done. So I assume that was just a standard fee for a call, which was fine because it was under $100. Anything under $100 to me is good. He came out really quickly and he did a good job. He didn't try to sell me anything.

Carey was prompt and did a great job and had our door repaired and in working order in no time! He also offered to program any door openers if we needed assistance. We requested that in addition to replacing the spring, that he also replace the toilets etc.

Very responsive, on time, kind and they did great work. An old metal garage door went off the rails (literally). They sent out a repair man first to try and fix it, but it was so far gone - the rails were tweaked and there had been damage to the door from the previous owners, so it couldn't be repaired. But, they gave me a clear estimate and within 2 days I had a brand new garage door. Went with the insulated factory manufactured door, and it is so quiet! The guys at the house were respectful and professional. They even leveled out the concrete under the bottom seal (for an extra charge of course) so the door would create a nice seal and create a barrier for critters.

Wood door was lubricated and adjusted; spacer added to keep door from shifting Wall open/close button was replaced. Technician's service was professionally performed.

Repairman Cary was professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. Same day service. He arrived on time.

Good, they did the work needed to get the door working again.
