He looked at my current system and setup. Said he would get figures together and send a bid. After one week of not hearing from him or receiving any information, I called another company. They gave me a bid within 24 hours. At this time, Best Buy refuses to refund my money because "he came to the house and an invoice was created." I would have expected a response with a bid/quote to be part of the transaction. I filled out a survey of Best Buy saying that I would not recommend Best Buy and why...oddly, within two hours of submitting it, I get a call asking if I had made a decision. If I hadn't submitted the negative survey, I'm not sure when or if he would have followed up.
Description of Work: He came to see what was needed to update my sound system/speakers.

The technician spent TWO HOURS on the phone with the ISP and my provider for my telephone line before getting a definitive answer on precisely why my connection was lost. He was very patient, VERY knowledgeable, and very professional. He also told me to take the new modem I had purchased back to the retailer and get a refund. This is the second time a technican from Geek Squad has been to my home to render service, and both experiences have been positive. I would recommend Geek Squad to my friends, my colleagues, and anyone else who would listen.
Description of Work: My internet connection went down and as a college professor, I am VERY dependent on access to the web. I purchased a new modem and a couple of days later, the technician came to my home to install it. In checking the line and then calling the ISP, he determined that (1) my modem was fine and did NOT require replacement, and (2) that my ISP had terminated my service following a change of telephone number WITHOUT MAKING ANY ATTEMPT TO CONTACT ME .

I was surprised to get such a quick appointment considering I just called on Monday of that same week. The Geek Squad agent called me early the morning of the appointment just to let me know that he would be here right at 12:00, but I missed the call. He showed up on time, exactly at noon. He was very courteous and chatted about stuff while installing the wall mount. All in all it only took him about an hour to get everything completed and he cleaned up all of the trash. He even offered to take the boxes to the dumpster for me. He was a great agent and did a great job. Before he left, he made sure I was satisfied with the way the tv was tilted (it was a full motion mount) as well as making sure the tv was level. I had been told by the customer service rep on the phone that I could be charged an extra $99 for wanting it mounted above a fireplace due that being a 'difficult location' but the Geek Squad agent had no issues hanging it and didn't charge me a dime.
Description of Work: Installed a wall mount and put the tv onto the mount.

Great. Yes, you will want geek squad to come and visit your home, so that they can see the room you are wanting to set up with your system and explain everything that you will need. When they come for the installation, they do everything. Once finished (and some while doing the installation) they will explain everything and how all the components work together.
Description of Work: The first visit was to check my media room and its dimensions. I wanted a 70 inch 4K tv with surround sound. The second visit was for the install.

They did a excellent job.He even fixed a wall outlet that came out of the wall.The Netflix app isn't available for my tv yet.He even called to find out how long it would be before I could down load it.

It went okay, My initial cost was $49.00 under the contract I had through AARP. However, there were problems and I agreed to pay another $99.00 to cover those problems, which were explained by the technician and I agreed to have the work done. The Tech spent about four hours my computer.

The installation went very well. The tv stand that I had did not work for the new tv. The technicians showed the type of stand that will work for that tv. I purchased the stand the the technicians went to the Weatherford Best Buy store to pick it up. I did pay to have the stand put together, but it was all very painless. The technicians were very polite, arrived when they said that they would, cleaned up everything before the left and left me feeling very good about the purchase. The technicians showed me how to operate the new tv and the features that I will be able to use.
Description of Work: This was a replacement TV for one that I had a service contract on. The provider delivered, installed, and connected all accessories to my tv.

I walked into the front door. I asked the greeters to turn the volume levels down so that each tune etc would only be heard in that area. I covered my ears and went to the specific item I needed to buy and left ASAP. I will need to replace my major appliances soon, but I can not stay in this store long enough to shop for them. This is a health hazard to your employees and guests!! This was the Alliance Town Center location in Fort Worth.
Description of Work: Best Buy has a history of having extremely excessive noise from various sources at harmful decibel levels. I can hardly stand to enter the door. I asked for the volume to be mitigated but they were non responsive.

I called the Best Buy phone number and an associate gave me the correct number to call for service. She also looked up my contract number for me, so that my next phone call would go smoother. I was able to get a service appointment for the following day. The repairman, Pete, called first and then came on schedule. He accessed the problem and replaced the part. He was professional and courteous.
Description of Work: The ice maker on our Maytag refrigerator was replaced.
