I scheduled this morning and they gave me 2pm-6pm window. I got a call from someone @5pm saying that they couldn't make it today and want to reschedule. I couldn't find anybody around that time to install. So have no option but do it on my own

I am so very sorry. However, when you opt for the last time frame (2-6) of the day there is a risk that the plumber assigned to you job may get hung up on a previous job and for obvious reasons then, we have to reschedule you for first call then next morning. And we won't know how the calls are going until near the end of the day. Respectfully, Ernie.

The first Technician was a absolute disappointment , He gave a estimate of 8 hrs. It ended up at 4 days . He left the job site to get supplies 4 times . each time he was gone it was 4 hrs. he didn't even complete the job and I sent him away frustrated . Second Technician was called to fix multiple gas leaks from first technician . The first technician rerouted the water and gas lines through the attic to get to the garage for the new water tank , he put the lines in the only available access through the attic so you could no longer access the attic . I called Ernie and he was very nice and helpful , He refunded some of the money and sent a third technician to correct the problems , The third technician was a master plumber and had no troubles correcting the problems, He was great , but he left his pliers and wrenches laying around and didn't return for them ? If you do business with Ernie's make sure to tell the tech what you expect to the letter. No muddy boots in the house . don't throw your trash in the attic, clean up after yourself .Tell them where you want lines routed . Etcetera . .

Customers review is absolutely correct. And the only favorable thing I can add to this review is that my company has terminated that particular plumber and he will never be rehired by my company again. We did give a partial refund which the customer absolutely deserved and I cannot express enough my apologies. Respectfully, Ernie.

They came over the same day I called. I let their customer service know that we have roots in our sewer line and they need to be removed. I also said the same thing once the plumber called to let me know he was on his way. Once the plumber arrived he seemed very professional, unclogged the toilet but said I'd have this problem happen again in the very near future. I asked if he removed the roots. He said he did the best he could but he said he was certain it wasn't enough and he couldn't finish the job. I was very disappointed. I called Teirney Plumbing concerned and explained the issue. They honored their Angie's List 2 hour promotion and in-fact used blades to cut the roots in the sewer drain with not excuses or complaints. They did say there was a lot but completed the job but said this should not have been an issue if I explained what I explained to them on the phone to Ernie's. I'm glad I had a back up.

My plumber did not say that he could not finish the job. He did in fact complete the job. He merely stated that you had a very serious root infiltration (which you knew about) and that it would be an ongoing issue until your pipe was repaired. He offered to run his camera and show you. However, you declined. Read the notes on your invoice my plumber wrote and read to you prior to having you sign it. Respectfully, Ernie.

Jeff 496 was very thorough, made suggestions to extend life of the valves. The quote was for 4 hours of work and it took him 3.45 hours. Full testing of the installation waited for about 1/2 hour to make sure no leaks were found. I will use Jess for my next project.

Bryan was on time, put booties over his shoes, assessed the situation and installed the solenoid without drama. He also adjusted an LED light band at the base of the faucet at my request. When finished, he asked several times if I was happy with his work and did I need anything else. Excellent job. Will use them for any future plumbing needs.

They called me in the morning to reschedule and told me they would be here between 11-2pm then extended it to 3pm. I waited all day and then about 10 min before 3pm I received a call and was told they were going to be late which I was okay with since I was thought would be another 10-15 min. No one showed up so I called the service provider and was advised that they were going to be late but this time is was about 4pm. I received another call back a couple minutes later and was told that they found another technician that can make it out for another 30-45 min but I didn't want to wait any longer so I cancelled services with the company.

Ernie's plumber Donald #380 came out on time and was very professional and knew what he was doing. I had a very small gas leak in one of my lines in the attic. I located the leak so I knew where it was. I turned off the gas from the meter. Next day Ernie's sent Donald out to my home. I showed him the leak, he confirmed, quoted me a price, I agreed. Donald was professional, knew what he was doing, showed me a few things about my gas fireplace and gas hot water heater. We had a nice conversation, etc..... As a DIYer I am confident of doing some things around the house, but I don't mess with gas. Just a nice experience overall.

The problem was diagnosed very quickly and after excavation, the leak was also repaired very quickly. All of our questions were addressed and it was so great to have the hot water back! We had one issue after the initial repair and Pete was dispatched to unclog a pricey showerhead. After totally dismantling, cleaning and then unclogging the pipe, we are now restored back to a fully functional showerhead (with really hot water)! All of the employees at Ernie's were very nice, courteous, professional and really aim for superior customer service. We will use them again in the future.

After extensive foundation repairs we began having plumbing problems. Ernie's fixed two leaks for us earlier in the year. We had hoped that would be the end of it but we were wrong. We sprung two more leaks at the other end of the house. We called Ernie's out again and got an estimate for repairing the two new leaks or just going ahead and re-piping the whole house. After having already spent over $3,400.00 on the other two leaks and looking at about that much more on these two, we decided to spring for the $7,900.00 to just re-pipe the whole house and be done with it. It was a lot of work and a lot of holes in the walls, but Joey stuck with it till the end. We had him run everything through the walls and attic so that we didn't have to tear up our new floors and jackhammer the foundation again. After he completed the job, we realized it had been several years since we truly had hot water in the master bathroom. Honestly, we kinda choked a little on the price, but then we didn't want just anybody doing the job. This was already very stressful to deal with and we needed to know that a reputable company that would stand behind it's work was handling it. Joey did an awesome job and was a pleasure to work with. I would definitely hire Ernie's again, but I hope I don't need to. LOL!

I cannot say enough good things about Thomas. I'm a new homeowner and I noticed my washing machine was backing up at the outtake and spilling water onto the ground. I have an older house and was convinced I was going to have to replace the pipes to allow enough water through. Thomas came out and was SO patient in examining the leak and explaining the issue to me (a very non-technical person with a lot of questions). He was very courteous and was able to complete the work the same day. I really appreciated that Thomas allowed me to fill and drain the washing machine tub a few times as he was packing his gear so I could make sure the problem was fixed. Even better? As he worked, he gave me recommendations on what could be improved in the plumbing on my house in the future, talked about what kind of preventative maintenance I should do, taught me how to check under my house for leaks and explained how my plumbing is currently hooked up. Ernie, I so appreciate your patient employee and I can't tell you how nice it was to have Thomas explain all of these things to me! Wonderful service and I couldn't recommend it more. My only regret is that after raving about Thomas, my parents wanted him to come to Colleyville to quote a gas stove install and your call center folks wouldn't schedule him for Colleyville - if there's any way he could make it out there, they would love to have him work up a quote!

IMO, this was an emergency. We had guests, so there were 6 people in the house with no plumbing/sewer and no shower. Both bathrooms, 1 bedroom and hall flooded when the sewer backed up & destroyed the carpeting. I called to schedule an appointment. I had to wait two days. I had no choice, so I agreed. On the scheduled day it snowed, so the technician rescheduled. This was a Friday so it moved the appointment up to the following week. Bad weather continued, and the technician had some other scheduling conflict. There was one more reschedule. The technician finally showed up a week after I place the original call. By then we were past desperation. The technician knew his business. He unplugged the sewer and identified another problem that I did not know about. He repaired both. He kept me informed each step of the way, and ask permission before doing any additional work. Repairs were excellent, and he tried to be fair with pricing. However, plumbers are expensive and paying this bill hurt. I think the company could have done a better job in scheduling, particularly in knowing what the situation was. The roads were not so bad that they were impassable. They could have given me a discount because of the problems all the rescheduling cost. They were not very sympathetic to the problem. Aside from the scheduling issues, I was very happy with the licensed plumber's work.

February 21, 2016 update I did receive a call from the GM Randy after I wrote my previous review. Not able to take call at work. After about a week, I ret'd his call. Told him the facts as below. He at first offered to send someone out to install the new faucet for the difference between what I'd already paid vs. the $291 price quoted to me for the installation. That would have been $90. I said I would think about it. He then said, he'd have a plumber install the faucet at no charge. Well, then it took a while to receive faucet from Delta as on back order. THEN, it took three appts with Ernie's to get it accomplished. (They cancelled the first two). Finally on Sat., Feb. 6, 2016, the plumber (Neal) came out that Saturday morning and installed the new faucet! It took him about an hour. So nice not to have to go to the kitchen sink to wash my hands after using the bathroom or just because I want to wash my hands. This new plumber was nice enough to tell me as he was leaving that I ought to have the shut off valves checked/replaced. I would like to receive a cost for the replacment so hoping that when Ernie reads this, someone can call and give me an idea as to what that would cost. Since this Neal has seen the plumbing, perhaps this could be handled with a call rather than making an appt and then waiting around for 2-3 hours for the plumber to show. Went on Angie's website the morning of 12/23/15. Wrote that I had a water leak in bathroom. Gave tel #. That was about 7:30 AM. Figured I'd get a call back right away as I "assumed" plumbers were already at work. No call back. A little while later that morning, I checked the Angie's website and saw that I had a msg. The msg said that tthe plumbing company had rec'd my msg and if I needed them to call??? (I thought I'd made that clear in my email. Otherwise, why would I have sent it?) Okay. So I called. The female I spoke with acted like she had not seen my initial msg. So gave her all the info again. Was told no one could come out that day, but someone could come out the next day between like 10-2 or something like that time frame. (Great. That was Christmas Eve.) Told her that would not work as I had to work until noon. Okay, time changed to something like 1-3. On 12/24/15, I get a call while I am at work at about 10:43 AM telling me the plumber is on his way. I TOLD this woman as I had told the woman I spoke with the day before that I had to work until noon so I was not at home. Oh, Okay she says. After I am off work, I hurry home. Just as I am turning into my driveway in the back of the house, my cel fon rings. This is 12:30 PM. Lady says plumber sitting out in front of my house and wants to know how much longer before I'll be home. Told her turning into driveway now. Just had to go thru house and open front door, which I did. Plumber very nice. I directed him into bathroom. Explained I thought that the leak was coming from the cold water side. He later confirm that I was correct. Also mentioned that I'd had a new faucet installed maybe a year ago. No longer than that. He told me that ithe faucet might be under warranty so I immediately go to my papers and find the info and receipt. Faucet installed 11/14. Show him. He may have commented again probably still under warranty of something like that. Goes back out to truck or outside a couple of more times it seems. He then comes back in with an invoice. He says something about repairing the leak. Cost to be $165. This included a $25 discount because I'm an Angie's customer. When I hear that I thinking price sounds good because their website says estimates are free so it there is a price involved, then that must mean he's going to fix it, right? The invoice even says "est to repair leak @$190 -$25 discount =$165.00" . Okay, maybe another trip or two out to the truck. He then comes back and and tells me that he's turned the water off at the sink. Not dripping anymore. Tells me that IF the problem is with the faucet, he or another plumber can come back out and install a new one for $261.00! He comes back with the invoice. We sat at kitchen table. He goes over the bit about showing their business card the next time they come out as that will entitle me to a 10% discount. Also shows me the brochure on the Preventative Maintenance Agreement. If I pay the $100 for that, that will entitle me to another 10% discount should I call them back out again. Not pushy. Runs the credit card and then he's out the door. I'm shell shocked. I just paid $165 to get the water turned off.

The plumber, Martin, arrived on time and ready to work. He began by listening to what I had discovered about the leak, and we began to try to assess the best method to locate it. He decided the best start would be to begin digging for the pipe from the meter which he quoted at $175. The ground was very soft from the recent rains and the line was only about a foot down and he was able to dig it out and examine it in about twenty minutes. Not finding a leak in this part of the line, he said that the shut-off valve to the house needed to be replaced in order to make sure that it was not the source of the leak. I must have been sleep walking, as this did not make any sense. If the line leading into the house was leaking, it would not cause a leak in the yard. He had to go to a local Anyway, that cost another $355 dollars for the installation of $30 worth of parts. This also did not help in any way to determine where the leak was. He then suggested that a cap on the line on the house side of the sidewalk would determine if the leak was in the line from the house to the sidewalk. He dug down to the line, cut the PVC line of the sprinkler system and then the line from the house to the meter. After leaving again for parts, he returned and installed a faucet on the end of the line, the top of which is about two inches below ground level. He came to the door a said that this also did not stop the leak. He said that the next step would be to explore the line from there to the house. That would involve cutting the driveway, estimate $2400. I told him to write up the estimate and give it to me to consider. After doing that, he came to the door and said, to his surprise, the leak had stopped. Apparently, the "cap" (faucet) he installed on the line at the sidewalk, was where the leak had originated. I'm not sure how that leak was missed during the cutting of the line and the installation of the faucet as the leak was exiting at ten gallons an hour. That would be clearly visible. I was also not able to examine the piece of pipe removed as he took that with him, but not the section of PVC that he removed. He replaced the soil removed from the exploration of the line from the meter to the sidewalk, and now I had a repaired system, but a hole in the ground next to my sidewalk on the other side with a useless underground faucet, a severed sprinkler line, and caution tape rolled around a stick in the ground in the hole. I asked if he was going to remove the faucet and repair the sprinkler line. He said it would only run another $185 to do so. I told him, "thanks, but no thanks". Locating leaks underneath the ground can and do at times turn into quite a process of elimination. It would have been just sheer luck had my plumber walked up to your leak, began digging and quickly found it. Does it happen? Seldom, but at times. However, most often it just comes down to a process of elimination. And my plumber has to bill you each step of the way whether he is adding, taking away or repairing. He bills for time. The parts are extra. At every step my plumber kept you informed of not only the process yet the price as well. He only moved forward as long as you agreed to the price as well as the process. He did nothing without your prior consent. When you end that process (which apparently you did) then his labor and pricing stops. Think of it as gassing up your car. You squeeze or compress the handle on the pump, it delivers the gas and the price moves right along with it. You let off, it stops! Hope this helps. Respectfully, Ernie.

A year after the installation, the pipes leading out of the water heater began leaking. We called Ernie's and they said #1 that they no longer serviced our part of town and #2 they wouldn't warranty their labor. My husband noticed that the pipes appeared to be mismatched and not done correctly. We called out another plumber who told us the work was shoddy to begin with. We had to spend another 1000.00 to correct their mistakes.

Yes, we made an attempt to service the Houston area and quickly discovered that it was too large an area to cover and the competition was too fierce. In regards to our not warrantying the labor, that was due to we did not provide the parts and we cannot, do not and will not warrant parts that we did not purchase ourselves. Respectfully, Ernie.

They snaked out my line on Dec 5 and were very friendly. Then on Dec 24 I had trouble on my line and I called them to see about a warranty and was shocked to hear them say there was no warranty because there were roots in the line. It had only been 19 days I had not a problem with this before. And I do not believe that the roots could grow back in 19 days. I am so disappointed that they service so friendly but the follow up was so uncaring. I will not call them again. I so disappointed.

I believe you have posted on the wrong company. I have looked you up via two different methods. First, being your street address and second, being your name??? I cannot find you through either method. Next, we do not void warranties due to roots. If we cleared your lines of roots then we offer a thirty day warranty unless the plumber showed you a break in your sewer line via his camera? I'll ask you to do two things this morning for me, please. First, review your invoice the plumber left you to see if it states Ernie's Plumbing on it. Second, if it does not then please ask Angie's List to remove our bad review and place it on the appropriate company. Or, it if does then please call our office on Monday morning and ask to speak to Randy as he will do the following for you. He will check to see if we accidently misfiled you under an incorrect name/address. If so, and this complaint is valid then he will send a plumber to you absolutely free of charge to rerun your sewer line. Or, if you've already had someone else clean it, then he will ask you to provide him with a copy of that invoice and he will reimburse you. I certainly hope you will reply so we can get to the bottom of this. Sincerely, Ernie.

Called several plumbers, but Ernie's had the first opening. They gave me a window of time for the appointment and although towards the end of that time, they did keep me updated. The plumber was professional and thorough. He explained the problems and gave me an estimate before doing the work. I thought that the price was fair and he completed both jobs in about an hour. He explained the company's service plan if I was interested but wasn't pushy about it. My disposal now works great and the tub drains quickly. I'm very pleased and if I need service will likely call them again.

I was given a four hour window 2-6pm. I work about an hour away. And was told I will receive a curtesy call 30-45 min before the technician arrives. I made them aware of the fact that I'll have to cancel my afternoon at work since I won't make it in time from work on top of holiday traffic. I've been basically waiting at home since 2pm. I also asked if it would be possible to have the technician come out closer to 2pm since l have to leave at 6pm for a prior engagement at 6:30pm. Curtesy call at 5:58pm!!! Very unprofessional!! So Bryan showed up around 6:45pm. Very pleasant guy. Explained why they were so late, and did a great job! I blame the people scheduling these technicians to certain jobs! I also asked to speak to the manager or owner and were told that he's gone home already! I'm very upset that I've lost half a day, but happy with the service I got from Bryan.

First, allow me to say thank you for your positive review on my plumber, Bryan. Next, is that I am truly sorry my plumber ran late to your job. I wish I had a reason or an excuse however, we just never know how long a plumber will remain on a job. Respectfully, Ernie.

I finally have a good plumber. Bryan, from Ernie?s Plumbing is the best I have ever found. He is knowledgeable, professional and dependable and only does the work that is required. In July of 2014, after a costly installation by another plumbing company resulted in a serious leak that destroyed the wallboard in the powder room, I was looking for a competent plumber. I signed on to Angie?s List and read the reviews of several companies. After reading the many positive comments left by customers, I chose Ernie?s Plumbing. When I called, a person answered immediately and was able to schedule my appointment on a day and time that was convenient for me. On the day of my appointment, the receptionist called to let me know that Bryan was on the way. I showed him the toilets that needed to be removed and the new ones that needed to be installed and he gave me a price that I felt was very fair. He began working immediately, did not mind that I watched him work and explained everything he was doing and why. That was over a year ago and the toilets are working perfectly. A couple of months ago, the city had a break in the main water line causing sand and grit to be deposited in the supply line to the house. The debris became trapped in the fill valve of both toilets causing them to run constantly. Again I called Ernie?s Plumbing and requested Bryan. He came out that very same day, removed the fill valve, took it apart and cleaned all of the sand and dirt out of it. He reinstalled both valves, and the toilets functioned perfectly. Once again he charged a very fair price. A few weeks later, one of the toilets started running again and I called back for Bryan to make a service call. Apparently there was still a little residual sand in the line causing the fill valve to stick so once again Bryan came out that very day, cleared out the fill valve and did not charge anything for his service. A few weeks ago the two sinks in the master bath would not drain so I once again called Ernie?s Plumbing, they sent Bryan out that same day, determined that the problem was in the pipe between the two sinks so he cleared the line with a plumbing snake, and once again charged a very fair price. This past week, my kitchen sink would not drain on either the sink side or the disposer side. There is an easily accessible cleanout drain so I removed the cap and there was no clog which made me think there was a problem in the drain connecting to the sewer. I called Ernie?s Plumbing, asked for Bryan, he came right out, used the plumbing snake, and cleared the line for a very fair price. I feel that Ernie?s Plumbing and particularly Bryan is one of the best plumbers I have ever used. They respond quickly accounting for the customer?s schedule, there is no trip charge, the plumber arrives on time or before, and is very knowledgeable. Bryan never tries to over-charge or do more work than is necessary and always lets you know up front what the cost will be. I will continue to call on Ernie?s Plumbing for all my plumbing needs.

Randy called me about my review, and he got an earful as I was still upset 48 hours later. The alternative to their discontinued 24/7 emergency service did not work. We talked for some time about the changes in their practices. Randy promised to work on customer communications and sent my preferred plumber to my home to assure that my problem had been resolved to my satisfaction. I appreciate that he made an earnest effort to address my concerns, and I plan to continue using Ernie's Plumbing Service.
Description of Work: In my last review, I had complained about the lack of communication about my requested service. There had been no callback regarding my request, and I considered my leaking toilet an emergency.

Thank you, for giving us an opportunity to make amends. If you should ever have any future problems, I assure you Randy will more than accommodate you. Last, but not least thank you for reposting. Very sincerely, Ernie.
