The technician seemed unprepared and inexperienced with the type of commode I had. All the technician did today was flush the commode and said that he would have to take the entire commode apart to put the new flush valve on and that it would cost me $200. Once the technician told me this, I told him to leave because I wasn't going to pay the $200.

The tech that Ernie's sent out was prompt in arriving, professional and respectful. He ran into several problems, very rusty bolts and a sprinkler meter box in the way. He quickly resolved those issues and fixed the water line. A competitor quoted a price of $2000 plus, however long it took. Ernie's quote was one third of that. A great job! I would definitely use Ernie's again.

He showed up on time, very courteous. Just a super neat guy. When i called the Company, they answered immediately and could send someone out right away. We had called 9 other plumbers, Ernie's was the only one who could make it before the next week.

Technician was outstanding and promptly diagnosed the problem as being defective valve bodies. Attempted to get replacement parts, but they are no longer available. Was able to dramatically increase flow in both valves to serviceable levels by thorough cleaning. Will eventually have to replace both full sets of faucets/spouts. Only negative was pricing. Charged $185/hr for two hours of service ... which seems very high based on prior experience. Did get $25 discount for AngiesList membership. Also, did not charge for time associated with trying to purchase discontinued replacement parts.

Technician arrived on time and was very professional. He explained everything really well and did good work. Considering he was working all day I think the price was fair. No complaints and will use again next time I Need a plumber.

Always last appointment will be cancelled at 5:30. It happened to me twice. If they can not make it they shouldn't take appointments beyond their capability. I have a water leak to be fixed and water heater not working. If i get a call saying that they can not do at 5:30 how can i find an alternative provider for that day

Chris was right on time, he fixed the problem, and was very apologetic about the cost, which was more than reasonable for plumbing services. He was thorough, polite, and very professional. Definitely recommending Ernie's for all plumbing needs

I couldn't get my shower to stop running water. Yikes! It was 4:00 in the afternoon and Ernie's Plumbing had somebody at my house in 30 minutes. Pete and his son did an amazing job. Pete fixed the problem and gave me some advice on my water shut off valve. He saved the day! Great job!

He had to cut into the wall to access the pipes, and to snake the pipe. I am not exactly sure of what he did but it did not fix the problem even after billing me a couple of hundred dollars.

The fix went very well. They repaired the issues (one of which if we had not caught it could have meant replacing the whole water heater) and did a great job. We are now a few months from completion of repairs and all is working properly. I would consider this a success and would defiantly use this provider for my future plumbing needs.

Apparently, their insurance doesn't cover town homes or condos that have more than 4 units. On a holiday weekend, it's hard to find a plumber, but to find one that won't do anything is worse. Makes me wonder what their insurance does cover. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!

Dripping kitchen faucet needed repair. First workman installed and adjusted parts that I had received from American Standard. Repair did not fix the drip. Then he said I needed a new faucet. Received faucet from American Standard and placed a second call to have drip repaired requesting a different technician. Second technician stared at drip saying nothing, fiddled with aerator then said I needed new faucet. Told him I had one, but he didn't say anything like "would you like me to install for you? The cost would be ... At that point Told him were done and he left 10 - 15 minutes after arrival.

Curtis Jackson came out to my house (in Forney for God's sake-all the way across the city) because a pipe had broken underground. He located it quickly, quoted me a price....and then discovered it was actually going to be twice as big a problem as he thought it would be. However, instead of zapping with extra he performed the job for the quoted price, asking only t hat I pay for the parts, and spent a considerable amount of time repairing the pipe and reinforcing it with high quality parts to keep the rupture from happening again. He did all of this with a smile and finished up in a timely manner. I wish all my repairs could be done by Ernie's plumbing as I would always be certain of getting a quality job done!

I just bought a new (to me) house. It's 60 years old and definitely needs some plumbing updates. After having the inspection done, I was told there were a few plumbing issues, but that there were other things that the inspector wouldn't be able to see so I'd need to hire a plumber. Honestly for all I know, the house could have had previous plumbing work done. I called Ernie's plumbing since it had such great reviews on Angie's list. Two guys showed up within the time frame they told me, but as soon as I invited them in, they were gruff and extremely rude. I tried to explain that I had just purchased the house and needed an estimate for work that needed to be done. Well apparently the 'free' estimate is just for me to tell them what is wrong and they can tell me how much it is. Which in that case, what is the point of them even coming out to the property. I was very disappointed.

Members—beware! How do you define a job “complete”? I can never imagine such a thing could occur with a company that has such high rating. We learn that this company does not have integrity, reasonable policy, or proper business conduct. It is unacceptable that they could get away from this kind of behavior. We asked them to install a water filtration system under the kitchen sink. We were told that the work would take about 1 hour to complete. And on the day of the task, the plumber they sent—Michael—worked on the installation for a few hours and could not get the system to work properly. Once we turned on the faucet, a loud noise is being generated. The plumber finally concluded that there is a bad part in the unit. Upon hearing that conclusion, we asked him to take out the unit so we could return the product to the store (this is the Kystal Pure Under Sink Complete Filtration System with Reverse Osmosis). Michael the plumber said that we don’t need to do that because we could just go to the store to get the part replaced. I told the plumber that this unit is not on the shelf in the store and it was shipped to our home. But Michael insisted that we could just request Lowes, where we got the filtration system, to send us just the defective part. We thought the plumber knows better so we went along with his suggestion. He said he will come back out once we have the new unit exchanged. And it turns out to be that Lowes will not send just the defective part and asks us to send back the entire unit before they could refund us so we could get a new unit. So, we called Ernie's Plumbing Service Inc and asked them to send Michael to come out and take out the parts that he had already installed in our sink. When he arrived, he said his manager told him not to do any service until we pay him. So I told him we could not pay because it was not a job completed. But he insisted that he had already done the job because he had installed the filtration system. But I told him that the installation was not complete and the system did not function. After one full day of waiting, the next day I finally got to speak with the manager Randy Kilcrease and he repeated the same policy, which is they will not take out the installed part unless we pay them extra. Again, I said I cannot pay if the service performed was not complete nor was it installed to properly function. The manager insisted again that they had done their job and we should not have asked them to install a bad part. I said there is no way I could know if the product I bought was defective. And if that is how they define a job “complete” they should tell me from the outset. Now, as a result, this company put us in a position where we will have to pay double to get the job done. That is, we have to hire another plumber to come and un-install the unit (task #1) and then ask them to come back again to install the unit (task #2). Given what had happened, we are led to believe that Michael’s refusal to take out the parts that were installed was a deliberate act of deception. The purpose was to make us pay them additional to come back to un-install and then install again. If such act is indeed true, shame on this company and this individual to try and scam and cheat their customers in such a way.

It went well. Has been working fine since. Ernie even had same day service!

I called one company who advised they only work M-F and would charge me an OT fee of $85. I found Ernie's in the phonebook. I didn't know they were on Angie's List until I did a search for the company. I contacted them at about 8am on Saturday. The woman answering the phone stated they worked on Saturdays. I asked about the charge and was advised there would be no trip or OT charge. She could have someone out within the next 30 minutes. That was great. The service tech arrived, his name was Mike. He listened to my tale of woe and then looked at my bathtubs where the water was backing up into the tubs and the toilets water was being sucked out. This occurred while I was washing clothes. I advised him the last plumber that came out went on top of the roof and cleaned out the vent drain? He explained that he would rather go through the toilet line because it would be a more effective drain clean. He removed the toilet and cleaned the drain. Then made sure everything was working before he left. He was personable and professional. Very easy going even with all my questions. The charge in my opinion was expensive, but I imagine when hiring a plumber for anything it will be costly. I would use them a gain because of the fact there are no hidden charges and they don't mind coming out on the weekends.

Arrived on time and was exact on price of repair. Had the repair done quickly and was very thorough. Had me inspect everything before he left to make sure I was satisfied.

These folks are great. They provided a free estimate and did the work the same day for us. They were professional and did exactly what we asked for a great price. I looked at may reviews on Angie's list and these were the only guys willing to do a truly free estimate. But that wasn't the deciding factor. When they came, they didn't try to up-sell anything or confuse the issue. The guy was very professional and explained all the work that was going to be done and then provided a quote. Most importantly, THEY STUCK WITH THAT QUOTE. I've been a victim of other contractors that get "out of scope' and there were "unexpected complications". They guys looked at all the work that needed to be done, they explained everything they were going to do and then did it for the price they said they would. That is a top notch contractor in my book. If your looking to have any plumbing work done, I can not recommend enough that you give these guys a chance to quote the work out. I will definitely be keeping their number for future jobs.

Always great and responsive service from this company. i would not use anybody else. From their customer service department to their technicians, everyone always helpful and friendly.

Michael #572 was a Rock Star!!! This was my first experience with Ernie's and won't be my last. They were on time, gave me a fair estimate and then did an outstanding job at thoroughly unclogging my sink and overhauling the toilette.. My sink has never drained this well...not even when the house was new. Great job Ernie's and Michael!!!

Overall we were very pleased. First, they arrived on time. Over the years, we've had two other slab leaks in basically the same place. Our experienced plumber (Joey Polk) suggested running a completely new line through the attic rather than doing another repair in the "traditional" -- tear up the slab -- way. Joey and his assistant completed the work in one day and the only additional repair work needed was minimal drywall repair. Neither the kitchen nor the utility room were out of service for an extended period of time. And, best of all, we never have to worry about another slab leak in this area. We were very happy and definitely will call on Ernie's Plumbing in the future!

Shawn from Ernie's Plumbing came to my house two weeks ago to quote the job. He was very professional and knowable and gave me a written quote. I already had two other quotes by firms that did it over the phone - not a good idea. Another Dallas based plumbing firm wanted $35 to quote. Bad business model. All were on Angie's list. I scheduled Ernies for the following Thursday. Shawn and a helper arrived on time. It ok three men to get the old unit out of my attic. They spent a full day and I did get a call about replacing my 13 yr old recirc pump. I agreed. They were finishing the job when I got home. I was extremely please with the way the job was done and they held their quoted price - no surprises. Shaw and his assistant we very professional. I would hire them again.

Lot of places do this no call/no show thing around here. There's lots of business in the area because it's growing so fast. Some day the progress will slow and all these people will have is their name.
