Ernie's Plumbing Service Inc

The bid was accepted on Wednesday, 2/22/17 but work did not start until Friday. A temporary line was installed so water supply would be available until line installed on 2/22/17. I could not park vehicles in garage until final line installed since the temporary line could not be driven over. The digging was completed on Friday and the pipe was installed on Monday, 2/27. However it took until Friday, 3/3/2017, to get the city out for inspection. There appeared to be a communication gap between field employees and the office personnel. The field employees were very courteous and performed well. However, I received numerous calls from customer service regarding city inspection dates which were incorrect and requests payment which had already been set up . Ernie's offered a payment plan of 6 months to pay in full which was great and I accepted. Since I was in desperate need of water, I accepted Ernie's estimate based on the work they performed a few weeks earlier to open the clogged septic line from the house to the city line. I thought the estimate was high but thought they would be near market estimates and did not seek other estimates.

The person who came out to give the estimate, was very good. One of my other people in the complex had an plumbing problem when he was out here, and he was able to fix that for them immediately. The workers are good. The work seem to be of good quality.The only negative that I would say is their estimate was about twelve hundred dollars less, than the final bill. Interactions were good. Seems to be fine at this point. I would say make the estimate fit the job. They said they ended up dig, they had to tunnel under a garage, under an driveway, which tough work. They had to do more of the tunneling than they had to do.

It went very well. This was a tougher job because of having to get the water heater up the stairs and make turns. There wasn't any damage left in doing this. I recommend them to others.

They didn't find any issues with the sump pump. The plumber instead gave us some liquid mixture to pour down the drains to eliminate the odor, which has worked.

Plumber never showed up. Scheduled from 2-6 today, took off work to be home. Received a call at 5:52 letting me know that the plumber would not be coming. Appointments should mean something, not making a four hour window is inexcusable.

I made an appt for an estimate on Friday. The appt was from 10-2 today. I called Ernie's at approx 12:45 to confirm that their plumber was still on schedule to arrive by 2pm. I was told that no appt for me was on the schedule.

Very well, we were pleased with their level of expertise and professionalism.

I think they were called out by my warranty company. So he came in, it was so weird. I'd never seen that type of mechanism before. Anyway he showed us how to use that and didn't charge for the service call. It was very nice. We've used him at our old house too. Can't remember what we had. It's been a couple of years ago but we had some thing. They came out right away, reasonably priced and did a good job. I would use them if I have my choice of provider.

I ended up going with another plumber. Ernie took me to a collection company because I did not want to pay the $350 estimate. I ended up having to pay.

Positives: The technician was on time. Negatives: Their quote was almost double the price of any other plumber that came out to our business. For example, they quoted me $735 for just a basic gas pressure test with inspection. Then, if they found a leak, it would be $190/hr of labor! We hired another very experienced plumber for half the price.

Everything went well - as always with Ernie's.

Did not go very good. Plumber said the install was done, it looked like an ok job although very expensive then I paid him. When I checked the drains the next day, one was lifted and one was discolored. They did not stand behind their work. He told me the parts I bought were builder grade and to expect that kind of workmanship with what he had to work with. He said he told me that on the day he did the work but that was never mentioned until I called them back. To 'do it right' would cost another $300. Stay away from Ernie's with all their discounts flyers (which they do not honor because their prices are too high and they make it sound like they are already giving you a discount).

They found the leak in the slab. They rerouted the line from the water heater to the place it needed to be. Took them a day and a half to complete. I would use the guy that did the work again and I would request him.

It took a long time to fix it up. It was expensive.

Martin, the plumber, was very personable and professional. I have had good experiences with personnel of this company.

The leak was fixed but several years later after animals have come into the attic the pipes are being chewed through by animals. It was requested at the time that copper be put in instead of PVC but the person that did the work said that it would vibrate to much. Three water leaks have now had to be repaired because of this poor decision.

Plumber gave me a few options and pricing and did the work quickly once a decision was made.

They were supposed to have come out between the hours of 2-6 pm on . At 5:00 pm I called their office to see when they would be out. The girl I talked with said she would call the rep and see when he would be out to my home; however, he did not answer her call. About 15 minutes I was called and told they would have to re-schedule. They came out the next day between 11-3 and said they would have to get the cartridge and be out to put them in. That was done; however, the one cartridge must have been defective as I now have a leaky faucet in the one bathroom shower so they have to come out again. I don't fault them for the leaky cartridge as that was not their fault; however, the company did nothing in the pricing as a customer service gester to compensate me for the time I had lost waiting for them all day and they didn't show up. I called the office and asked that the manager give me a call and I was assured he would, but he never did call me. I am not impressed with this company's customer service at all. For the prices they charge, I expect better treatment. Also, I was charged $63 apiece for the cartridges and on-line they can be purchased for as little as $18. A total ripoff!!

Called yesterday and setup a service call between 2:00 - 6:00 today. I took the afternoon off from work to be here. At 5:45 I hadn't heard anything so called Ernies just to make sure they were still coming. The answer was no. The plumber had got stuck at another location and they wanted to reschedule for first thing tomorrow morning. So now I've lost half a day of vacation sitting at home for waiting on them for nothing. And they didn't even have the courtesy to call me and let me know they weren't coming. I had to call them to find out.

Excellent service and reasonable cost.

They were great. The price that they do is great and the plumbers are always very thorough. They explain everything in layman’s term.

They found a leak, and replaced about 20 feet of bad pipe. The put a permit through the city, and made sure it passed code. They were able to get my heat back. I called them back to do another gas leak detection for my pool, of which they were able to find another leak (Fixed for around $500). The master plumber (Charlie) was one of the best I have every worked with, he goes above and beyond.

Terrific. Called Ernies in the morning, they had a slot open for 1-5 pm that day. Their Dispatcher called at around 1:50 to let us know they were on the way. Bryce showed up at 2:15 or so and spent several minutes asking about symptoms, listening to us describe which drains were doing what, running some water in the shower and sinks and flushing toilets and then going outside to observe flowage through the cleanout. After a short while, he said it looks like there is something up in the main line to the street as everything seems to be flowing to the cleanout ok, but sluggish after that. After spending some time running the auger through the line, he flushed a lot more water down the pipe and observed that the sluggishness was gone. I was pleased that he spent the time to ask questions and listen to our descriptions to help diagnose the problem, rather than just "knowing" what was wrong when he walked in the door. We havent had an issue in the several days since, so I believe he found the problem and made it go away. They offer a 25 dollar coupon via Angie's List and it was accepted without question. I thought the charges were reasonable for the work performed.

Fine. The gentleman were very helpful.

We called Ernie's Plumber based on Angie's List reviews and they said they would send someone out between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm. I waited at home all day for them. At 2:30 they called to say they were running late, but would be there soon. At 4:45 pm I called them to ask what was taking so long and they again assured me they would be there as soon as they were done with one more job. At 5:50 pm they called to say they would not be able to make it, but could try again tomorrow. Their only suggestion was that we call the city emergency line and try to get our water shut off to the entire house. They said there was no manager available for us to talk to after 5:00 pm. They said they were not members of the Better Business Bureau. We ended up having to call an after hours emergency plumbing service, pay the after hours fee of $200 (plus the fee to fix the handle) and of course a water bill for a shower that had been running for over 9 hours. Every time we spoke with them we reminded them that it was not a leak, but a full pour of water coming from the shower head. If at any point in the day they had suggested to us that they might not be able to make it to our house, we would have called another service. However, they continued to assure us all day that they were on their way, until 5:50 pm when they canceled completely. Very unprofessional.
