Jason Winkle built a pergola without first obtaining a building permit, as required by the City of Euless. Within two weeks the pergola had to be dismantled. I now have a pile of wood in my driveway. I have tried to contact Jason Winkle since. He returned emails for awhile, but now he does not respond. Do not hire Jason Winkle. Do not take recommendations from Ricardo Baldi. Make sure you use reputable contractors who obtain building permits. It has been over 5 months.
Description of Work: I previously submitted a report on June 19, 2011 about a pergola that Jason Winkle built for me. Since that date, I received a citation from the City of Euless because Jason Winkle did not obtain a building permit, as required, and the pergola was not built to code. Within two weeks the pergola had to be dismantled, and the wood is still sitting in my driveway. I have tried to contact Jason on multiple times, but he does not respond. That gets him a Lousey designation for professionalism. My advice is to hire a professional with experience. Ricardo Baldi of Baldi Gardens recommended Jason Winkle to me. I wouldn't take any referrals from him in the future. I lost $2,200 and have a pile of lumber in my drive way. I will have to find someone else to finish the job.

Jason Winkle was great He was very professional and helpful and he is a true craftsman. Made excellent recommendations to achieve the result we wanted. He and his crew were very meticulous about the prep work and the finished product. He cleaned up the job site at the end of each day. We will definitely hire him for future projects.
Description of Work: Jason demo'd and replaced rotten siding and trim and installed new Hardie siding and trim. water barrier and sheathing. A new bay window was installed. He spliced in new fascia, soffit, brick freeze, drip edge, and garage door jambs to replaced rotted or damaged areas, and matched it to the existing materials perfectly. New vents were installed. He did meticulous prep work for the exterior paint job, sanding, removing deteriorated putty/caulking and then installing new. One coat of primer and two coats of premium exterior top-coat applied on the painted areas of the house.
