Description of Work: William came out to check why our air conditioner wasn't working. When adding coolant didn't work he called the manufacturer and continued to work until he narrowed it down to the unit. He game me a couple of options for replacing, but recommended the cheaper because of the unit's age. | |Since the unit was 15 years old I asked about replacing the unit. William offered a price of about twice the price of the repair. We went ahead and bought the new unit, but I was impressed that William didn't try to push the higher priced new unit. | |I'd asked about upgrading the thermostat and William offered to throw in a used unit he had on hand for free. Once again, my impression was that he was interested in doing a quality job for the best price and not pushing up the price as high as possible (which has happened in the past with other companies). | |The installation was smooth and efficient. We haven't had any problems and William supervised a couple of guys who did solid work. | |I'd definitely use Climate Experts again.

Where do I start?!? The guy did show up when he said he would. Beginning of the visit was OK. The problem came when he couldn't tell me what was wrong with my A/C. My wife and I had questions. He got extremely rude with my wife to the point where I had to ask him not the speak to my wife in that manner. Insult #1. I was already having reservations in the fact that there was something wrong with my unit but he couldn't tell me. He insinuated that I was just trying to get something for free. Insult #2. Get what, you haven't done anything! I suggested to him that he was quickly talking his way out of getting paid. What he didn't know was that I wanted to pay him but my wife was saying we didn't get the service we paid for. The vendors stance was that he came out for a "diagnostic" call. I understand that to mean, I’ll come out and tell you what the problem is, repair will be an additional cost and if you refuse repair you still owe the diag fee. Our question was, well doesn't "diagnostic" allude to you actually telling us the true nature of the problem, his response was no. ?!?!? He even tried to liken this situation to cancer treatment. Really??? Before it was over he raised his voice at my wife again, accused us of trying to get over (Insult #3) and that's when I said we're done. I wanted to ask for supervisor information but he stated he was the owner of the company and went on some rant about not appreciating his integrity being questioned because we stated we had this problem last summer and the vendor we called out fixed it. I couldn't remember who it was nor could I find the invoice so that's when I went out to Angie's list. I suggested I'd try again to find whoever that was. This was not a slight at him. I suggested that they found and fixed the issue. He seemed offended that we would actually attempt to contact someone who could RESOLVE our issue. Then with extreme added he starts “you owe me $69.95…” By this time I’d decided my wife is correct and this dude isn’t getting paid for services not rendered PLUS the yelling at my wife PLUS the threats, yes threats. At first I felt bad because he had just told me about another of his clients that refused to pay because he didn’t fix anything… I guess that should have been Alarm #1. I sincerely had planned on offering something for the trip out but definitely not $70 and I know absolutely nothing more than before you came and my A/C is still not working properly. But after how he talked to me and worse, my wife, I couldn’t in good conscience pay this guy for services not rendered and sure not paying for insults and rudeness… How did this guy make Angie’s List????? P.S. I had a meeting this evening at 7:00. While I was gone my wife felt the need to leave because she didn’t feel safe at home by her self based on the threats he made while he was leaving.
Description of Work: Nothing! He checked some things with his tools and told me he doesn't know what's wrong with my unit.

this is a bogus review these people did not pay the bill, they stole our services and since they did not pay they cannot review our company as they committed a crime called theft of services..they were rude, accusatory, and demeaning when it was time to pay and this caused us to react in the way they are describing.. here's the real story, Whether or not you believe you got a service or not you did, I came out on a hot day, near 100 degrees, after 5 pm, yes an hour( from 520 to 620pm) and spent that hour going through ALL of your parts outdoor one at a time with tools which includes a meter. I did all this while you were NOT there and your husband watched the whole entire time, I removed each component, tested them, and re-installed them. I then turned system and ran all tests you can while running IE Freon levels which include documenting SH and SC readings as well as pressures and all AMP draws and compared them to your systems door chart. I could not find the one thing that was causing your intermittent issues with the tripping breaker but eliminated a lot and also gave you a few reasons from past experience on what could be your issues and while it’s not definitive it gave you something to look for or IF you wanted to we could replace the parts we believed were the issues and start there, however we did not lie or force this recommendation because it was an experienced hunch and we always leave that up to the customer to make a decision on whether or not to do that and go from there. The unit was full of subpar replacements parts and has a lot of age on it and many possible reason on why it would trip the breaker, finding the ONE would take time and luck as its not happening when we were there. As to the advice we gave your husband before we arrived, its standard to tell people to shut off the unit and also at times to run indoor blower to defrost unit IF ice maybe present and we cant work on a unit that overheated or iced up and this gives us the best chance to be able to quickly diagnose the problem on first tip. To add to your comment again and read slow if you need to” YOUR UNIT WAS TRIPPING BREAKER TO OUTDOOR UNIT, THIS MEANS ALL POWER TO OUTSIDE UNIT IS BEING CUT OFF AND SYSTEM WILL COOL OFF ON ITS OWN, NO MATTER THE ADVICE I GAVE YOU ABOVE, AND WOULD NOT HAVE MADE A DIFFERENCE IN THIS SITUATION ON WHETER OR NOT I COULD HAVE DIAGNOSED WHY IT TRIPPED ANY BETTER THEN IT DID YESTERDAY AS IT WOULD HAVE ALREADY SHUT DOWN AND THEN RESET WHEN I ARRIVED AND WE WOULD HAVE BEEN IN EXACT SITUATION.” It was your choice to believe me or not but either way the work described above is still considered billable work and is a diagnostic as we tested everything thoroughly. I will not apologize to people who have the ethics and personality to openly question my work habits, knowledge, and professionalism and find a way to use that to NOT PAY their bill. That diagnostic fee would have been good for 30 days and we would have come out as many times as needed to catch the issue at hand when it was happening within 30 days so you would have more then got your money’s worth had you treated this as a business transaction instead of coming to your own conclusions and being overly skeptical to a point of being rude which led to my reaction AND THEN NOT PAYING A LEGITMATE BILL. Another a/c company that my elderly father had a service contract with came out for one of the twice yearly check-ups at his house and diagnosed a leaking coil that needed replacing or (surprise) an entire new unit to replace his 7 year old Carrier unit. Since the unit appeared to be working fine and the tech had brought a sales guy with him on the service call and wouldn't leave a written estimate behind, it sounded like an unscrupulous sales job rather than routine service so I reached out to Climate Experts for a second opinion. William did a diagnostic check and while he didn't find a leak, he plainly discussed our options and suggested we wait a bit to see if the freon level went down signifying an actual leak. i.e. Honest assessment.

I used them before I checked them on Angie's List. They were a very good company. They did everything that they said that they would do. They did the job on time and showed up on time. I have been thinking about using them again and so, have been checking their rating on Angie's List. However, I have not used them again but I might use them again in the future as I thought that they did a very good job the first time. It cost a few hundred dollars and they were fairly pricey but I don't remember the exact price that I paid. Their price seemed high but they explained that it was kind of a special fan that needed to be replaced. Also, I called them for an emergency and so, I did not have the time to check on the prices. The quality of their work was definitely great. I have another job that needs to be done but I have not been able to afford it yet.
Description of Work: I used Climate Experts A/C and Heating Incorporated in February 2011 when it was very cold for the heating and air conditioning services.

Dealing with Climate Experts is nothing short of a joy. Having central heat in winter is nice!
Description of Work: When our heat went out over the weekend, Bill answered my call early on Sunday morning and walked me through several diagnostic steps and determined that the control board was not working. He ordered the part and had it installed same day, and he also checked over the A/C system as long as he was out.

Company and representative that came to my Mom's house was wonderful. The unit blows loudly but the manufacturer can't figure out why. The company did everything they could but the prob lies with the manufacturer.

He came out a year ago to check up on the system and his price was extremely reasonable. The last time I called him was because my heater and thermostat was not working and he walked me through fixing the problem and he never had to come out. He recommended that we switched the air filter out and we replace the batteries in the thermostat and that fixed the problem. He never charged me anything as well.
Description of Work: He did the maintenance work on my heating and air conditioning unit.
