Bretts Painting And Remodeling

Provided competitive bid.  Very friendly and professional.  Demolition went well.  Communication was okay.  We never knew who would show up for work, although someone always did, sometimes on time, other times a bit late.
Overall work was completed within an acceptable time frame although not the time frame promised due to counter top purchase wait time (they should have known it would take time to cut and deliver from Home Depot).
After effects:  Since work completion....
1.  1 bifold door for pantry was improperly installed with plastic pegs as opposed to smooth rolling casters.  Additionally, the bottom of the door was shaved unbeknownst to us and the hollow core bottom piece was held secure with nails.  Needless to say, the door fell off.  I have made the necessary repairs with appropriate parts.
2.  One window panel cracked.  We wanted it replaced before onset of cold weather and requested that it get done.  Emails went back and forth until I just gave up and had it repaired by another company.  Also, the windows were not sealed properly from the outside (1/4 inch gap).  This has also been repaired.
3.  Back of one of the kitchen drawers fell off and the contents fell out the back and down into the below counter cabinet.  Repaired by us.
4.  Due to contractors not being present during Home Depot counter top install, the supports promised to go 'through' the support wall for optimum support were not installed but rather 'shelving' L brackets that are visible when sitting anywhere in the adjacent living or dining rooms.
5.  Several ceiling spots were not 'cut in' with paint.  Large area in guest bedroom.  Corrected by us.
6.  Corners of trim around bar not mitered correctly.
Overall, most of the work 'looks' good and most is holding up to expectations.  The above however, has been quite disappointing. We initially recommended Brett's Painting.  After 6 months of problems popping up, we will not do so again.  We also hope that we won't find any more subpar work in our new kitchen.
Michael's work is excellent.  That is as far as it goes.  
We did enjoy the friendliness of the crew and were considering contracting them to replace gutters and paint our home exterior. We opted for another company here on Angie's list and are very happy with the results.  I will not make another major renovation decision without checking here first.

Work was done with professionalism, impressed how their crew cleaned up after themselves at the end of the day.  Work was completed in the time specified.  If there was any questions, they never hesitated to ask.  Brett always willing to answer questions and very honest.  Highly recommend his business for remodeling.
