Big and Square Appliance Repair

This is the second time I called Gene. First time was to repair the water dispenser on the refrigerator. During that appointment I made another appointment for him to check my older model coil Thermador cooktop that had been repaired by someone else. One burner had quit working. The first repairman took my money for a new switch but did not return to replace the switch and would not take my calls. The second repairman replaced the switch and after he left I noticed the indicator light stayed on all the time. I called him and was curtly informed that it was "installed properly." I was hesitant to use the burner -- unsure if it was wired correctly. So made the appointment with Gene and two days before that appointment the cooktop stopped working completely. Gene found all the wiring problems and, of course, the indicator light was wired incorrectly. He took care of everything and the cooktop is working perfectly. I do recommend Gene and he will be my appliance repairman going forward. He was professional, personable, willing to answer my questions, explain and show me the problem, rates were reasonable. And most important, both repair calls were successful.

Our 2 year old dishwasher was leaking intermittently. We called Big and Square Appliance Repair. Gene Basar responded promptly and arrived at the appointed time, with a call ahead to let us know he was coming. He explained that, since the problem was intermittent, he might or might not be able to spot the problem, but that he would have to charge us $50 (we live in Burleson) for the trip. If he was unable to source the problem, he said we could call him when it was actually happening, and if he was in the area, he would make every effort to come out and take another look. Which was exactly what happened. A week later, when it was leaking, we called him and he arrived, found the source of the leak, fixed it by locating the hidden source of the leak and simply tightening a part that had come loose - and then charged us nothing for the second visit. Even when pressed to accept a second $50 charge, he refused. "A deal is a deal", he said. Highest marks for Gene's integrity and professional service.

Gene answered when I called on a Sunday and he had an appointment available on Tuesday between 9-11 and he called at 830 and said he would be here at 0900. he showed up, got the door open explained what the problem was and that he would have to order the part. he gave me the quote and said he would be back on Thursday with the part. he was here on Thursday when he said he would be and the microwave is fixed. He did a great job! Very professional and I will be using him again.

My dishwasher had been “repaired” by other folks but the actual problem (a dismounted & clogged chopper/disposal) had never been properly addressed until Big and Square came. The price was fair! So happy!

Was very impressed with service. Gene stopped to pick up the part I might be needing before arriving and it worked. Personable, efficient, honest and a one-man operation. I highly recommend him.

I was given an estimate prior to the worked being performed. The estimate was very fair and everything went well. Very professional and very knowledgeable and on time.

His diligence and persistenCE found an bad inverter that caused the transmission to not lock. His repair bill was detailed. Because it required replacement of the motor, it was almost as much as a new one. He adjusted his bill to diagnosis only, $49 and would not take more. He is an Army veteran, clean cut, and respectful of you and your property.
