About us
At Armored Concrete, we provide concrete resurfacing that renews and rejuvenates ailing pavement. All around Arlington, TX, people are discovering what it means not to accept crumbling patios, but rather to enjoy smooth, attractive concrete surfaces on their beautiful properties.
We have a large patio slab (19 x 12) that had carpeting that we had glued down almost 20 years ago. We wanted the carpeting removed, but had no idea how to beautify the patio once that was done. We met William Jacobs, the owner of Armored Concrete in Arlington, at the Ft. Worth Home & Garden Show and was very impressed with his knowledge and display. He came to our home a few weeks later to discuss what we wanted done. I told him I would like the concrete slab to look like the flagstone patio out in center of our yard. We discussed how best to accomplish that and then discussed price. My husband and I were pleased with the price he quoted (as it was quite a bit less than other options we had researched). Work on the project started just a week or so later. Mr. Jacobs first removed the carpeting and got rid of all the residual glue. A day or so later, he came back to put down a skim coat in light gray. After that dried, he placed tape down in a flagstone pattern. Next, a coat of sandstone was applied. A few days later, he "washed" the sandstone with various shades of brown. Finally, the tape was pulled up, leaving the light gray "grout" lines and 2 coats of sealant were applied. It was amazing seeing the patio transformed step by step and I can't believe how much my plain concrete slab now looks like flagstone. It is simply stunning. Mr. Jacobs says we will only need to have the concrete resealed every 3 years to keep it looking beautiful. He was great to work with and really addressed all of my concerns. I would not hesitate to use him in the future and can't recommend him highly enough.
Description of Work: Removed old indoor/outdoor carpeting from patio slab & resurfaced with faux finish.
