My Craftsman riding mower quit while I mowed. It wouldn't restart or even turn over, so I called Butcher's Saturday a.m. He offered pick up for $20 and arrived that afternoon. I then asked him to add an oil change and check the blade and belts. I, also, showed him that the front wheels were beginning to wobble. I paid $40.00 cash for p/u and return of the mower. He called me Monday @ noon because the mower was ready. When he returned the mower, he explaimed his findings. The wire to the stator had become unplugged and shorted out which blew a fuse. He, also checked and cleaned all the safety switches and changed the oil and lubed it. The front wheels had plastic bushings, which he replaced with metal bearings. Before returning the mower, he washed it. The blade and belts were good. Cost of repairs: $120.00, cash. Butcher's does not accept checks or plastic. Total cost: $160.00. My riding mower now runs great and I'must very happy. It'seems much too hot for a push mower!
