This company is very professional and very knowledgeable. I have had a lot of work done by them in the past and I would not have chosen another company for this work that I needed to have done in December , so I could sell my house. Kevin, the owner, took one look at the hole under my home and knew what was needed to save the foundation from cracking in the middle. The foundation was staying level because of previous leveling done by this company, but the dirt shrinking underneath the middle of the house did make the foundation very vulnerable to crack in the center. Kevin immediately suggested "pumping" and that was done within a week of the discovery of the problem. Then when I was in the process of satisfying a potential buyer about the house, the plumbing problem showed up, so I contacted South Texas because I trusted them to find some help for me that would not bankrupt me totally. The called some other companies in my area and located some workers who were idle at that time and they hired them to dig a 37 foot tunnel under my foundation so that the plumber could fix what turned out to be two leaks. This job was started right before the New year, but was not finished until January 8th, 2015. It was done well, and then I could I could sell my home with the knowledge that I was selling something with no problems and with a warranty to pass along to the new owner. I have heard from the new owner that the company, South Texas, has been in touch and has reassured him that if he has a problem they will be there to fix anything under the warranty and provide help with anything that needs repairing or remodeling outside of the warranty . This is an honest company, their prices are fair, in fact many times I thought they were giving me such a good break, they were losing money on the deal. I no longer own the kind of property that would need their kind of service, but I would certainly recommend them to anyone who does need help with foundations, remodeling, plumbing, any work on houses. They are not only honest, they are efficient and knowledgeable.
Description of Work: My foundation was in danger of cracking because the dirt was shrinking below because of the long draught. So it was suggested to pump under the entire foundation, at a cost of $ 8,900.00. It took a lot of pumping, (I am sure it should have cost more than it did) but it secured the foundation, so that I could put the house on the market and move. When the house was up for sale potential buyers wanted to check the plumbing, unfortunately, there was a leak, and it was very far back below the foundation, so for $ 9,000.00 a tunnel was dug and the plumbing was repaired. This took place in early January, 2015 and then I sold my house and the warranty on the foundation was transferred to the name of the new owner.

I decided not to go with the contractor for several reasons. 1. They said they didn't do business with the BBB, i didn't know this was an option and it raised a red flag. 2. I couldn't find them in Angies list so they gave my e-mail address to one of their old customers who did give them a good rating on Angie's List. I didn't like the fact that they gave out my personal information to someone I didn't know. 3. The salesman was not very perfessional, he asked my elderly mother for a cup of coffee, we didn't have any and asked her to make some...he was very polite in asking, but i don't think that was acceptable. 4. The contract they gave me to sign had a totally different name on it and I received varying stories as to why...first they bought out the company, then it was an old company name...they had too many stories for me to feel comfortable in giving them that much money. 5. The price kept going down, from 7k then to 6.5k because they would use some materials they already had on hand, then to 6k if i signed today...then lower if Ilet them do it...this made me think they were way over priced to begin with. Basically I don't feel like they were trust worthy and if there was a problem I feel like they would change the name of the company again to get out of it. Just my opinion.

Response from South Texas Foundation Repair and Remodeling
I just read this review? Or whatever it is, and I am totally appalled. I have used this company many times and they are very professional, and will usually try to work with people to come up with a price that will work for someone's budget. I am the person who sent this woman the information on how to get on to Angie's List. She asked them to send her email address to me so I could tell her how to do it. I had to do it several times, she was either just not very bright, or some of the representatives of the company said, she smelled of liquor. I really find it difficult to fault a company for trying to give you a lower price to fit your budget, and I will tell you they have done that for me many times and I have been delighted with being able to "afford" the work needed. This company does good work, at a fair price. Their salesmen are professionals and would never insist someone MAKE them coffee. I understand that particular salesman was offered a cup because this woman's mother was making a fresh pot. It could have been considered rude to refuse. And probably this "reviewer" would have decided it was, should he have declined. This company did not deserve this ridiculous "review" and I hope anyone looking them up on Angie's List will just give them a call and check them out. I am almost guarantee they will be happy they did.

They were involved in a big job in the Houston area, so it took a few weeks before they could get my way, but when they came they did the whole job as efficiently as could be wished for...They put bolts in the front wall and used some sort of foam that hardens when it is blown down in between the wall and the inside wall or whatever. It will last forever from all I have learned, but I could not tell you exactly how it works. I do know that because I have used this company before they gave me a price that probably only covered their cost for the front wall of $ 1,100.00. They used a new mold remediating substance, and sprayed into my vents and into my attic, and they did that twice. The cost for that was $4,000.00 and I can only hope that covered their cost. The repair under my back rooms, the tunneling and beams installed and the several gallons of slurry pumped under to stabilize the soil under my house cost $ 6,000.00. The whole cost represents all of these repairs. I think I received more for my money than I would have with any other company. These are very honest people ,and they are also very compassionate, and I know they gave me a cost break because they had done so much work on my house before. I trust their repairs, because I know they know what they are doing, and they seem to be able to do anything related to foundation and home repair. I am considering a "French Drain" to help further stabilize my "Texas" soil that is a problem, and I am talking to their foreman about that, because they can do that too. I have yet to find something they cannot do, and in checking with some other people who have had work similar to mine, I am finding out I have realty been given a much lower price than other companies would have charged. These people are gems, and I will use them any time I need home repairs, of just about any nature.
Description of Work: My front wall was pulling loose. The bricks were in danger of cracking and coming apart. I also had mold trying to start up in my attic. This company can do it all, and I have used them before and trusted them because of their previous work on my home, so when I discovered several problems, I gave them a call. They had fixed a big problem last spring, May 2013, under my back rooms. The ground was shrinking and making a big sink hole. They dug a tunnel and put beams under and then pumped slurry to fill the hole.

The work of putting piers all around my foundation and unfortunately I needed piers inside as well, started on March 4, 2010 and all were finished on March 10, 2010. While digging holes on the side of my house where my bathrooms are located, water was discovered in the freshly dug holes. This turned out to be sewer water from a series of broken pipes under the slab. Tunnels had to be dug to repair the plumbing leak. This was done very efficiently and then slurry was pumped under that location to stabilize the slab. Because of the sinking of my foundation before it was leveled, my attic needed some bracing in the rafters. This wonderful company put an expert in my attic and repaired and braced the boards that were lose. I really appreciated all this extra work done in my behalf. I am a senior citizen and any extra expense can be h****** my budget. These people have really gone the extra mile with me to repair my home so that I can continue to live here without troubles.
Description of Work: My foundation was cracked and shifted. These wonderful people lifted the foundation, and in the process it was apparent there was a terrible plumbing leak under the slab. They so very professionally informed me of what was needed to repair the leak, and then stabilize that area of the foundation so all was level. All repairs were done professionally and courteously and the price which seems high was really lower than other contractors in my area were estimating.
