The job should have taken a couple of weeks. It ended up taking three months, because of no shows, disappearances lasting weeks, unreturned phone calls, and endless excuses. After the first rainfall it became evident that instead of the flagstone floor sloping away from the house, it sloped towards the house, creating a pond anytime there was rain or melting snow.Starting in the spring, we began try to get Mr. DeLeon to repair the flagstone. After months of unreturned phone calls, he finally began setting up dates when he said he would get started. There were numerous no-shows, including one where a neighbor offered to let him use a jackhammer and left it here all day, but it was another no-show. Promises of return dates were offered with either more no-shows or calls with excuses. After approximately seven months, we went ahead with getting estimates from other masons and had the flagstone relaid. The cost was an additional $800. Mr. DeLeon continued to make promises to show up, but never did. We offered to let him do some other repair work instead, to repay us for the rework, but he has not responded.
Description of Work: The project was a patio adjacent to our house, consisting of a brick wall and flagstone floor, with a raised flower garden. Mr. DeLeon had done several projects for us in the past and done a good job on these.
