It was nine months of nothing but disappointment after more disappointments. They made the concrete floor larger than the plan called for. Then to correct it they had to build a false wall inside the house to bring things back into size. The walls were not straight in the house, the lumber twisted and warped. There were low spots on the roof that had to be repaired or I should say was attempted to be repaired. ( you can still see some low spots) Plumbing in the wrong spots, plumbing pushing the the walls out in one bathroom. Trim work was cut to long in some places and to short is others. (patched with like color putty) Doors hung in wrong direction if it had doors cut out in the farming at all ( how do you miss closet door framing). They come to work at 10:30 and leave at 4:30 everyday, on some days if they showed up at all, making the biggest mess I have ever seen, and never cleaning up after themselves. Contractors showing up and not knowing what they were to do for the day. Painting and trim stain looked good until we took a closer look. The tops of our cabinet doors (wear you couldn't normally see) or the bottom was not stained, just left as unfinished wood. Tile flooring had to be redone due to uneven tile and bad grout work. Carpet layers cut the base boards with their carpet knives. Paint on the ceiling was splotchy at best. But contract says two coats of paint and that's all you get. Nails sticking out of pantry shelves,paint chipped and braces not even touching the floor. Electrical outlets were covered with sheet rock and plaster, creating more damage and touch up and repairs. Lots of chips scratches and gouges that had to be repaired. Excessive mortor on brick, not to mention bad brick, cracked brick, and we had to brink the brick layer back four times for repairs. Materials that showed up were excessive also, 66 extra sheets of sheet rock. (disappeared) 3000 brick and two pallets of lime stone that we kept for ourselves. Missed dead line on contract and refused to pay our penalties and interest on our bank note. We were told that the house would be ready in two weeks after the deadline and we still don't have water in the house, and the electrical isn't done. The more we complain about the poor work man ship and the delays the more we hear that they hope they don't have to get their LAWYERS to settle this. I know I'm still missing some things too.
