Homemakers & Handymen

Description of Work: Several years ago we used Homemakers and Handymen to install a disposal. They did a very good job at a reasonable rate and called the next day to see if we were satisfied. We used them again to see if they could fix a tub stopper. They were not able to but got us a stopper that would suffice. Then we had them install a new commode (in 2011). The commode was loose and we called them over a year later to tighten it. The lady and her sister came to fix the problem. She spent all afternoon trying to solve the problem. We left the house for an evening appointment. When we returned, we saw that she had cracked the front of the commode and tried to cover it up with some sort of patch. The next day we had one of the shims she installed come loose. We called her numerous times and left messages and she never returned the calls. We contacted the BBB and were told that they had tried to send Homemakers and Handymen a letter about another complaint and it was returned because they no longer lived there. The ad we originally used to contact them was in a 'Shoppers Window' local magazine. It stated that they were bonded and insured and the BBB said the insurance had expired and was only for roofing jobs.
