+ -1 moreTHE GEEK SQUAD IS A JOKE. NOT ONLY WAS I ON THE LINE ONCE FOR OVER AN HOUR AN A HALF BUT I WAS HUNG UP ON TOO! THEY FINALLY BOOKED AN APPOINTMENT BUT NEVER CALLED BACK TO RECONFIRM AND OF COURSE DID NOT SHOW UP. THESE IS A UNLESS SERVICE. TOADY A RECEIVED A BILL FOR ??? So I must assume Best Buy is also the wrong choice.

+ -1 moreTook in damaged ipad. I was informed that it was covered, but they would have to send it off and that it would take 2 to 3 weeks to get it back.
Description of Work: Promised at time of extended warranty purchase that all repairs would be done in the store or I would receive a replacement if it couldn't be repaired at the store.

+ 0 moreThe Geek Squad tech who came to the house was pleasant but evidently not very competent. The Geek Squad representative at the store was not at all helpful and was not at all interested in trying to help me solve the problem. His attitude seemed to be they had their money from the sale of equipment and contracts and I was on my own to solve this problem.
Description of Work: We purchased new Apple computers, Apple Time Capsule and printer from Best Buy in Aug 2011 with service contracts which we were assured would take care of all our problems from 2 to 4 years from the date of purchase. About Dec 25, 2011 we were unable to connect to the internet on any of our computers. Best Buy sent their Geek Squad technician to check this out and he reported all their equipment was working fine so we had our ISP come and check the incoming signal. They found some small problems with their signal which they repaired but we still weren't able yo get on the internet. We then hooked up our old router and we immediately were connected to the internet. This seemed to isolate the problem to the Apple Time Capsule which was being used as the router. Yesterday I took the Apple Time Capsule to the Geek Squad at Best Buy to have it repaired or replaced as it was only 5 months old and still under warranty. They refused to do anything saying my service contracts didn't cover that item and they couldn't honor Apple's 1 year warranty. I then took the Time Capsule to another computer store who promptly reset the time capsule which made it work, but it cost me about $50. I now have it hooked up and it seems to be working fine.
