Mike did an excellent job getting us taken care of. He even worked late into the evenings to get us fixed up by our deadline. He went above and beyond and did an fantastic job fixing up our yard and decorative brick walls. I would highly recommend him to anyone. He is also a good christian man who loves the Lord.

Workers were not trained well and caused damage to my house and plumbing and existing plants. They would show up at random times and not work a full day. A projected seven day job turned into 6 weeks of showing up occasionally. The owner told me he would be on site for the job but was always out of town and very rarely made an appearance.

Update to Previous Story: Please do not hire this company! Discount Lawn & Tree asks for money upfront to start your landscaping project and may never return to start or complete the job! They have been scamming Amarillo residents for a long time, so please beware! I suggest you hire only licensed, reputable contractors who do not ask for any money upfront. If you are lucky to get any work out of this company, the work is very poor. Discount Lawn & Tree were sued in Small Claims Court and I was awarded judgment. The owner, Mike Davis, was given 30 days to refund my down payment, but he never did. Does this sound like an honest company? Mr. Davis writes his own good reviews about his company, so don't be fooled. One year later, Discount Lawn & Tree have never refunded my court ordered down payment, and let this be a warning to all residents who try to take this guy and company to court. If you have been scammed by this company, please contact the Better Business Bureau and the Potter or Randall County Police Department. On February 28, 2012, I contacted a local television station about my plight. The station, in turn, contacted Mr. Davis. A few hours later, Mr. Davis left a message on my answering machine indicating that he had "forgotten about me" and that he was going to send me my refund, although he was running short of cash. Did he ever send me my money? No. Does this sound like an honest Christian company like they claim to be? On May 31, 2012, another local Amarillo television station ran my story on the 6:00 and 10:00pm news. The story depicted my plight after wildfires destroyed much of my landscaping, and my struggles after hiring Discount Lawn & Tree to re-beautify my property. Viewer reception was positive and very encouraging, and many residents are now aware of the scamming that goes on in the landscaping business. I hope that my story will encourage others not to gamble their money on this risky business.

The owner came out to give me an estimate. He showed me his certificates of completion for horticultural studies from our local college. He also showed me his insurance coverage. He answered all of my questions. His crew began the work late in the afternoon, and returned to complete the job the next afternoon. He called before they arrived. They worked carefully and steadily on the trees. The owner and his crew were very friendly and professional.
