BOB JAY'S PLUMBING

The whole process from consultation to work completed was very good...we have no issues at all with the company or the personnel that was in home doing this work. The techs were very respectful, answered our questions and stayed until the job was completely finished. Everything...I mean everything we were told the crew would do...they did and did it well. The technicians cleaned up any and all messes and stayed for awhile to be sure the water heater was functioning properly as well as the filtering system. I would recommend this business to anyone without any reservations.

She is punctual. She is very well spoken, she is very well trained and she is very good about explaining things.

They are a really great company with impeccable customer service.

I am writing this review because I do not want anyone else to have to suffer the consequences of picking the wrong company to do work for you. My mother and I are each new rental property owners and I have recently started a new job as a property manager. I am looking for contractors I can use for life....ones that I know I can trust and dont have to babysit! One of my rentals needed a full renovation. I have dealt with every kind of contractor and I would try so hard to pick a good one with a good price....I will be writing a review on everyone I have worked with good or bad. I am absolutely disappointed in Bob Jays Plumbing. I was needing a gas wall furnace installed in a rental. I called and had a technician come out and look at it. He helped me decide which kind of heating I needed and informed me on what to buy. Once it came in, I realized the gas lines were not hooked up to the meter. I called Bob Jays again to have an estimate on fixing this problem. A different technician came out and gave me a quote of $20.00 per foot of gas pipe laid. ( I had roughly 20 feet needed). He also approved the heater I had. The work was performed the next day. They said they would have the tech who would install my heater come out the following day. The same technician who origionally advised me on what to purchase came out to install the heater the next day. I had bought what he told me to. After he came over he said he would need to check city codes and make sure he could instal the heater where I wanted it. He ended up calling me after checking with several people and advising me to use electric heat!! He did not install the heater. I had put in the gas line specifically for the gas heater! I have NO other gas appliances or need for gas in this rental!! When I got the bill in I was under the impression it would be around $400.00...($20.00 per foot x 20 feet)...but it was not! The bill was $750.00! I thought maybe they accidentally included the price of the heater installation. I called and was told there is a minimum of $900.00 for any plumbing service and that I was given a and quot;good dealand quot;!?! They took off $100.00 because that was for the 5 feet of pipe to instal the heater which did not get done. At the time I thought it was just one of those things and paid the $650.00. I like the technicians they seem professional but I was irritated at the situation. The next week I called them because my Air Conditioner was not working right. I have lived in my home several years and every summer we have to fill it up with freon. I KNOW there is a leak somewhere!! Usually we fill it up once (at least 3 or 4 pounds each summer) and it works great all summer. The technicians came out and said it was low on freon which I figured....they put 2 pounds in it and wrote up my bill. When I called to have them come out, the owner told me there is a $29.00 service fee to have them come out and $30.00 for the 1st pound of freon and $18.00 for every pound after that. When he told me he put in 2 pounds I was adding up what my bill should be...$77.00. He handed me a $149.00 bill! WTH? Every charge was different than what I was told....there is a $57.00 charge just for them to put gauges on the air conditioner! I decided that day that I was DONE with Bob Jays FOREVER! When they left I was told my AC would be doing great and I should have no problems (which is what I expected). The air conditioner didnt get ANY better! It was 81 degrees in my house every day (during 100 degree weather!). My husband wanted me to call somewhere else to fix it but the way I saw it, I had already paid them to fix it so they needed to fix it! I called and by this time I was angry! I mentioned the gas line we didnt need and the fact that the AC is not working still. I was told I would not be charged and the guys would come see what it is exactly and we could go from there. I was lead to believe they would check the entire system and inform me of what the problem is. When they came, they did the EXACT same thing they did the first time! They said it was low again and put 1 more pound in it but I KNOW its low...it dosent work right!! They did not do anything else except tell me its expensive to find a leak. The tech did not write up a bill so I was glad. I told my husband we would just have to call someone else. By the way, the AC still did not work! A few days later WE RECIEVED A BILL!! For $81.00!! I was so incredibly angry at this point...I called the owner AGAIN and was told that they adjusted the prices lower since I had already paid once! I brought up all 3 times they had done work for me and how upset I was....she ignored the plumbing issue and just kept telling me I have a problem with my AC...probobly a leak. DUH! She wouldnt take any responsiblilty! She kept saying she would get a few technicians together to brainstorm on what could be wrong with my AC and she would call me back by that friday. I gave her almost a month to call me back and make things right....she has not so I am now writing this review.

They are super. They are very concerned that they make no mess and that the job is done right. I will call no one else.

I would recommend Bob Jay's again. The price was reasonable considering the work and the work was efficient.
