Description of Work: We needed to use a VA loan for a mortgage, we chose to go with BOA in Amarillo because we needed to move down south quickly and needed pre-approval. At first Ms. Presley was very responsive to get us "pre-approved", and then from then on she failed to do her job. We put a contract on a house on the 18th of August and did not receive any paperwork or good faith estimate until the 29th of August, only after we went in and demanded to see it. That should have been a red flag. They began blaming their Irving office for everything, never mind that they were in violation of a federal law for not providing our gfe within 3 days of putting a contract on a house. Ms. Presley would not keep us informed, we would have to beg for info and we had to demand phone numbers and make all the phone calls ourselves to find out what was going on. Her boss was equally as useless. They continued to tell us everything was approved and all we had to do was close. We were set to close on 9/11/09 and two days before we found out that our loan had not even yet been looked at. They again blamed their office in Irving. They began to ignore our phone calls and would not return phone calls. The Irving office did return phone calls and answer questions, but informed us Amarillo did not do their job. They were demanding paperwork 2 days before closing, after our home was packed up. They put our closing off two days. On the day of closing we found out that we needed a termite inspection, thank God we paid for a home inspection on our own and paid extra for our termite inspection and had the papers. They also demanded a water quality test which our realtor was able to track down from the water district. We were never told until closing date of any of that. Our realtor as well as the seller's realtor had to continually call Ms. Presley at BOA home loans in Amarillo to bug her to do her job so that we could go to closing. They were rude to us and acted as if we were over reacting to the whole process. They were a nightmare. We should have just switched to a local company in the town where we were moving, but we were paying temporary quarters out of pocket and felt backed into a corner. Never again will I go through a big bank. We tried to complain and they won't give you who is in charge of the Amarillo office since the boss there was equally as rude and did not care about us. We were just a dollar sign, not humans. We plan on filing a complaint with the State of Texas regarding their failing to produce our good faith estimate within the federal laws. Run don't walk!
