Terrible, did not repair softener correctly on first visit, then charged me $79.50 for second visit, to fix it.

They sold me a $12,000 system that they represented would remove iron, minerals, and stench from our well water. It never worked. For several years they blamed our maintenance, so we tried using their’s with no improvement. When we finally got a second opinion from a truly qualified supplier we found out they had sold us a vastly undersized system. For the same price we could have had a commercial sized system that could have handled an entire neighborhood. Don’t trust anything they say.

I bought both a water softener and a reverse osmosis water system. So I spent some good money with them. Which costs more than the average system. With this, you would think they would give you great service. I talked to the salesperson about installing the water softener in my garage. He said they would have to see if that is possible. When the technician came, I asked him the same thing. He said without looking in my attic or garage. He stuck the system in the way of how water drains from my backyard. Because of this, my grass dies and I have pay to fix it. I call them to have them move the system. I asked the technician Stevie if it was possible to move it to the garage. He went into my attic and said yes. So, that is a mistake on their behalf because the 1st technician didn't want to do more work. They wouldn't even work with me on the costs. They said they would and lied. They said it would cost about $600 an it ended up being $800. Way to go on helping me with the cost for your screw up and making me pay to install it twice. Stevie even said the 1st technician was fired because he was lazy. So, they even knew they had a horrible installer and still do not want to make things right. Way to double dip and make me pay to fix my lawn for your screw up.

A lone Aquatex Installation technician showed up at my home at about 10:00 am. After a brief discussion about where I wanted the water softener system installed, the tech decided that he could not install the softener (WS) and reverse osmosis (RO) systems on that day. The tech offered to install the RO system only and I would need to reschedule for the WS installation. I informed the tech that I wanted both systems installed at the same time. The tech said his office would contact me about rescheduling before he left my property. A little background is in order. This entire episode happened on a Monday. I had major foot surgery that previous Thursday. I was at the time and still am getting around with the aid of a large boot on one foot and I am still taking pain medication. Back to the Aquatex WS and RO installations. The same Aquatex install tech arrived at my door later that day at a little before 1:00 pm. He stated another tech was in route to dig the trenches for the extended water lines I requested (for installation in my backyard) and he was now prepared to install the WS and RO systems. I had ingested another pain pill just 20 minutes before he showed up again and I was seriously considering asking him to leave and reschedule. In retrospect… I should have. For the sake of time – and my poor typing skills – I have briefly captured my Aquatex installation experience:  The Aquatex install tech did not provide me a single piece of user or installation documentation (i.e. manuals, user guides warranty info, install receipts, service contact info, etc.). Nor did he mention where I might find them.  The Aquatex install tech did not ask if I had any questions or concerns about the operation or servicing of the WS or RO systems. I had to ask him about simple matters such as, salt replenishment, manual regeneration and RO filter replacement.  The Aquatex install tech left my front entry and kitchen floors with at least a half dozen hard mud spots. No sweeping – spots had to be mopped up. Also, my stainless steel refrigerator was left with several stains from the techs hands on both sides of the fridge door.  The Aquatex install tech did not install a concrete foundation as was specified on my initial cost estimate from the Aquatex salesperson four weeks earlier. I was only given two 18” x 18” concrete blocks thrown down on my yard as a foundation.  But perhaps his most egregious act of customer contempt was to leave my property without the water softener system providing any regenerated soft water to my home. Due to my aforementioned surgery and an additional unrelated trip to a healthcare facility during the days after the WS and RO systems were installed, I did not immediately seek intervention from Aquatex customer service for remediation of these matters. Frankly, I felt like s%#t and I was not of the correct temperament. The following Saturday after this incident (that’s 5 days later), I was able to retrieve a quick user guide from the Kinetico website – not Aquatex. I was then able to manually regenerate both storage tanks and I was finally able to receive treated soft water into my home. In addition, I had two extremely good interactions during my Aquatex experience: 1. The installation appointment person – I believe her name was Debbie – was extremely patient and accommodating during my install date change request due to my ongoing medical abnormalities. 2. After conveying my concerns with the usage of water supplied by the city without being treated to Aquatex sales representative B.J., and after a little research on my own, B.J. advised water treatment and reverse osmosis systems that were adequate for my usage. He did not simply offer the highest systems in his brochure. And after he contacted me to inquire about my installation experience, he did mention his regret for not contacting me sooner and he apologized for the non-positive customer service I had received. In conclusion, only time will tell if my Aquatex installation experience will equate into a poor general experience when it comes to warranty, maintenance or customer relations issues on down the line. But Aquatex and I are off to a bad start… so hire at your own risk. Incidentally, my ratings were given for the quality and professionalism demonstrated during installation. I will write another review for both the water softener and reverse osmosis systems after a few months of evaluation.

The service was great. They did exactly what they said they would do and it works great. They installed a kinetico commercial water softener for our shallow well. The water was horrible before. It smelled, looked and felt horrible. They had to do a double filter setup, then the water softener. Due to how bad the water is I have to clean the filters weekly and the water softener uses almost 60lbs of salt a week. Now the water is clear and has no smell. The price was very high but there was absolutely no hidden fees. It cost exactly what they quoted me. The problem I had was the price but you get what you pay for.

They replaced our non-working Culligan water softener with a new Kinetico water softener system and separate Kinetico "K5" system installed under the kitchen sink. Kinetico is pricey but we got a better price than Culligan. We love Kinetico's patent non-electrical system, on demand system. This was the obvious choice and "Tom Tynan's Home show" recomended Aquatex as well. The installation of our units was professional and efficient. The installers were great and they did a very professional job. We had our systems for about three years now with no problems at all! The systems works beautifully and the condition of the water is great. We have had several friends and family members buy Kinetico units after seeing what our water is like and we now know why Kinetico is the "consumer reports" best buy!

I tried to do my research on these devices before going with Aquatex and the Kinetico brand. This industry is a bit complicated, so I do suggest you do your homework before spending thousands of dollars. We looked at Kinetico, Fleck, and EcoWater via Costco. They all have their pros and cons. EcoWater is a solid brand sold through Costoco for members and Costco stands behind it. My problem with them is that there were several models and I was not sure why I would need the $7,500 model versus the $4,500 one. Of course after the discounts, Costco credit, and soap the cost is lower. The Fleck was cheaper, but was more for the DIY type, which I am not. The salesman from Aquatex was a bit scattered, but did tell a good story. He also recommended we keep our current RO system for drinking water as it was still working fine and we could always get a new one later. He was not high pressure or pushy, which I appreciate. Ultimately, I liked the lower maintenance of the Kinetico brand and it is used by many commercial restaurants as well as recommended by Tom Tynan here in Houston. So far seems fine, but only time will tell. For now seems like a good decision. The installer was fine and did not leave a mess, which was great as sometimes these guys can leave you headaches behind.

I would recommend them. I had a very good experience with them, two houses ago. I had no issue with the cost. I would go back to them again.

Michael R. (salesman) was extremely knowledgeable about the company and their system. I'm an engineer and he explained thoroughly the technology behind the Kinetico system vs. Other softners very well. I believe the kinetics system is a far superior product. I spoke to one reference that had a Kinetico installed in 1986 and she's never had any problems; talk about testimony. Here's the down side, their system is pricey. About double the price of a conventional water softener system. We just moved into our new home and have additional expenses/to do's in front of us (gutters, landscaping, lawn sprinkler). I figure when the cheaper system goes out, I'll be ready for a Kinetico.

Priced way too high. Salesman had a canned speech full of lame jokes. I was looking for facts and a good price. Ended up using another company's product.

Prompt and professional inspection, presentation and installation. after interviewing several companies, aquatech was clearly the most competent. The installer did what he was supposed to and then some. Clean installation, setup and instructions.

WONDERFUL PEOPLE. THEY HAD GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE.
