+ -1 moreI notified him 2 days later that it had streaking in certain areas, which he said it would go away. Now it is lifting in that area. The issue is not that he doesn't believe there is a problem, its that he wants me to share the warranty with him. So he wants me to pay for the materials. My warranty does not say that so I should not have to pay anything.

+ -1 moreIt was not the best but part of it was because it was a while before I called and when got in touch with them, I had a different franchise of it. He did honor the payment that I had made but the service provided was not worth the price I had paid for it, just some plain shelves not built in. The man who did the work came on schedule, he was very courteous to me and I appreciated the work he did but I wouldn't consider using this company in the future.

Description of Work: Redesigned our closet to add more hanging bars, shelves and drawers. Tore out old shelves, etc. Repaired walls. Installed new hanging rods, shelves and drawers. Also installed a hanging storage system in the garage.

+ 0 moreAfter my initial contact with Tailored Living I gave them an F because they never followed up after coming out to measure for the install and to give me a bid. I now want to change that grade to an A and here's why: After posting that review I received an email from John the owner apologizing and to explain what had happened. Apparently they got a little overwhelmed with work after offering their services on Angie's List Big Deal. I called him on the phone and he said flat out that there was no excuse and that they simply dropped the ball on our order. He wanted to do whatever it would take to win me back as a customer. I felt his sincerity and agreed to try again. John personally showed up to meet me and take the measurements to do the computer planning. It was Good Friday and he spent at least 4 hours...well past 5 pm getting it just right. He took the time to ask questions and help us figure out what we needed. That was a huge help because he pointed out many thing we had not taken in to consideration, He then had his lead installer Uriel come out and double check to make sure everything would fit as we have a 50's house with several different closets. He set up the install date and they called me to reconfirm the day before. From the tear-out to the install everything went perfect and on time. They did not damage anything and cleaned up all of the mess, They even fixed the sliding doors with new rods at no cost. We love our new closets and were so SMART to give them a second chance. The quality and craftsmanship is superb. Other companies we got bids from were twice the price or more! Thank you Tailored Living you did a great job!

We really didn't know exactly what we wanted to do and she kind of like put in computer program for us and we really like that. When they came out they were able to do it in one day and they did a good job. There wasn't anything negative to say about. I would use them again.
Description of Work: We used Tailored Living for closets in June of last year. We built our house and we had absolutely no space to put a window closet and so we have them put us one in our master and then a kind of redid the other hanging spaces because just to make it more efficient and make it like double hang and stuff like that.

Description of Work: Got a great experience with Tailored Living. I made an appointment and a design consultant came to take the measurements and see what my needs were. She made many suggestions of a layout that would work with my oddly shaped closet (just think of a square and a triangle joined in one corner). The installation took two days. One day was dedicated to the tear down and I was able to schedule it for a Friday, so I could paint and change the carpet over the weekend. Bear in mind that you are responsible for these, but they will recommend a painter if needed. The installation took almost the entire day on Monday, but I was pleased with the looks of the closet and the quality. It is not hardwood, but the materials are above average and the service excellent.

+ -1 moreThe first step involved the designer coming to my house to help me with my storage situation and give me some ideas. When we decided on an entertainment center with extra drawers, she showed me all the options available, colors, and style. After that process was complete, They ordered the product and set up a time for installation. The installers did a great job of removing the molding and putting it back in place around the new center. I had a few minor issues, which they immediately came back to correct for me. Everyone was professional and courteous. i would definitely use them again.
Description of Work: I have an open loft area that I needed storage for. I purchased 2 coupons thru Angie's List and applied them to the entertainment center that was built for me. Overall, I am very pleased with the product. This was my first experience having something designed and built for me. I was unaware of the costs involved, so i was a little surprised at the final cost.

Everyone involved in the process, the decorator, the owners, the installer were extremely professional. I love my closet and it was worth the money.

+ 1 moreWorkers were punctual and efficient. One of the drawers had holes drilled in areas that were incorrect and they replaced the drawer and delivered the missing shelves very promptly. The company is very service oriented. I LOVE my new pantry- it puts a smile on my face every time I open the pantry door! No more lost items because they are buried in the back of deep shelves.
Description of Work: I purchased Angie's List deal and called when I was ready to have the work done. Rhonda came and looked at my tiny pantry and made some suggestions and then drew up a plan for me. She emailed the plan to me the next day for my approval. I was then contacted by the owners with an approximate install date. The week before they emailed me with a definite date, and the workers showed up promptly that morning. The space was very tight and probably took longer to install than anticipated. They did not have the correct number of shelves, and John, the owner, called to assure me that they would correct the problem.

+ 0 moreEvery step of the process went smoothly. Everyone was polite and professional. I give the price a B only because I didn't know how much this type of product/service cost. When I was first shown the price, I gasped (and the designer gladly adjusted the design in order to fit my budget). I didn't get estimates from other companies so I don't know if the price I paid is the industry standard. I do know that if you're thinking IKEA prices, you're underestimating. However, the finished product is worth every penny! The design, functionality, increased space, appearance...it's all worth it. If you have a small space, Tailored Living can work magic. I can only imagine how well they'd transform a master closet or garage.
Description of Work: I had shelving and drawers installed in a cater/caddy/catty-corner kitchen pantry. The original shelving consisted of five L-shaped shelves at a 12" depth. Tailored Living designed and installed a combination of shelves, drawers, and L-shaped shelves with varying widths at a 14" depth. All shelves are adjustable. The installation was trimmed-out so that the final product looks flawless.

+ -1 moreWhile there was some initial confusion over the final cost, after deduction of the Angie's List coupon, the owner very quickly resolved the issue in a respectful and judicious manner. Overall, it was a very good experience, and we will use them, again, if the occasion arises.
Description of Work: The salesperson visited our home, reviewed our garage storage options, drew a design, and explained all procedures to be followed. She was very professional and tried to accommodate our price range. Tailored Living installed two large overhead storage racks. While the installation was not conducted by the company, but rather an independent installer, the gentlemanm was punctual, polite, made helpful suggestions regarding rack placement, and was professional in every respect.

+ 2 moreOverall, from conception to completion, everything went very smoothly. John and Stephanie were very friendly, fun, yet professional, offered lots of great, creative ideas, and were completely accessible and responsive. For example, at Stephanie's suggestion, we took out the old reach-in closet, and it gave the room that much more space. Plus, I had a bank of drawers installed and rather than waste space beneath a window, she suggested putting in shelving for additional storage. That is where I store my handbags. And then I put a cushion on the low shelf, making it a convenient window seat (which my cats love!). It worked out perfectly! It's beautiful! All my friends gush about it! I'm thrilled! I finally have the closet of my dreams! You will NOT be disappointed with Closet Tailors and their pricing, although it isn't cheap, is much more competitive than other closet designers I looked into. I will definitely use them again as I continue to improve my house.
Description of Work: I bought a house built in the mid-60's in late November. The house has four bedrooms. The closets were the reach-in kind and I really wanted a BIG walk-in closet, so I decided to convert the bedroom adjacent to the master into a walk-in closet. John and Stephanie set up a meeting with me within a few days and came out and brought a computer with a software program where you can plug in the dimensions of the room and they design the closet space, presenting several options. They asked me detailed questions regarding the type and amount of clothing I had, how many accessories I had (belts, jewelry, handbags, scarves, etc.), and how many shoes I had (which I had a LOT!). They designed the closet top to bottom before my very eyes, continuing to tweak it, until it met my needs. A day or two later, Stephanie met me at the house and did all the measurements, taking into consideration things like the old closet being removed, new baseboards being installed, height of carpeting, etc. She really managed all the details! The installation was quick; in fact, I left the installers as I had to go to work, and when I returned home, it was mostly complete (there was a slight issue with a slant in the ceiling so the crown molding had to be installed at a later date). They did a good job cleaning up after themselves, too. About a week later, the installers came back out and completed the crown molding. However, this time, the installers got what looked like white sawdust, only much finer, on my hanging clothes and things I had stored on shelving. So I had to take things off the shelves and wipe them down, brush the dust off my clothes, and vacuum. Not quite as clean as the first time they came, but then again, the room was empty. Other than this minor inconvenience, everything went extremely well. I even mentioned this to John and he offered to have someone come and clean everything for me, which I thought was nice, but I elected to do it myself.

+ 2 moreCalled to schedule an appointment and they managed to come out the next day. The owner of Tailored Living, John Scheschuk, arrived promptly (even a little early) and started asking me really good questions to help him create the best closet for us. He measured out the space and even figured out how much short-, medium-, and long-hang clothing my husband and I currently had. We even figured out how many pairs of shoes we have. After everything was measured and counted, John pulled out his laptop computer and started to create our closet with his CAD software. We were able to see (in 3D) how it was going to look once finished and it also allowed us to play around with different options to see how it changed the price. Once we decided on a design, I had to sign a couple of agreements/policies/etc. and paid a deposit which was 50% of the price. Installation was scheduled for a little less than 3 weeks later. Tailored Living's installation team arrived promptly as well and got right to work. It took a day and a half to complete. Before they left, they cleaned every surface and vacuumed the floor. Everyone was courteous, well groomed, and seemed to care about our complete satisfaction.
Description of Work: Tailored Living (formerly Closet Tailors) did the closet in my master bedroom/bath. They designed the perfect closet for me and my husband! It now has drawers, shelving, and even a set of glass-framed doors. Everything is in its place and I look forward to getting ready every morning!!! I'm going to have them do our garage in the near future.
