Mia's Quick Service

We had a dead zone on our sprinkler system and brought out Mia's to figure out how best to fix it, based on their good reviews on Angie's List. Their crew arrived on time and worked independently for an hour or so. They advised us that they replaced a couple of sprinkler heads and now everything looks good. They also adjusted the watering schedule since our lawn seemed too dry. The price was reasonable for the inspection and the fixes. They showed me the units that they fixed. During the next scheduled watering, I noticed a bunch of rocks around a few sprinklers and other indications of problems. There are no fewer than three broken sprinklers now, just in our front yard. I don't know if they failed to notice that these were broken during the inspection or they somehow broke them. I do know that the indications of broken sprinklers (such as the dirt and gravel displaced when the water is flowing) were not present prior to the inspection. In retrospect, I should have asked them to activate all of the zones so that I could verify everything was working properly. I have tried to contact Mia's to work out a solution but have been unable to reach anybody on the phone and they have not responded to my messages.

Where the main PVC line to the sprinkler system connects to the shutoff valve (following the backflow valve) the plastic adapter was cracked, causing a constant water leak. I called Mia's on Thursday, and got a service date of 4pm to 5pm Friday. They almost hit the time; not bad for a Friday rush hour. The lead guy said he would try to remove the adaptor, but frequently the plastic and sealer can't be completely removed from the metal shutoff valve. It appeared that the shutoff valve was integral to the backflow valve, so he warned that the whole thing might have to be replaced, at a cost of $360. The outcome was that the shutoff valve was not integral as it first appeared and they were able to remove and replace the shutoff valve. They re-installed the valve assembly with a telescoping repair section, which will provide a little flexability and hopefully prevent future breaks due to earth shifting. The two-man crew was experienced and got the job done in less than an hour, at a total cost of $120.

We noticed on Friday evening that there were two breaks in our irrigation from a termite bate station install earlier during the week. With newly a newly installed landscape, it was critical that we have the system repaired ASAP. I started calling at 7AM on Saturday morning, and was happy to find that Mia's had same day availability. The repairman arrived promptly, was very professional, tested the entire system, and made the necessary repairs. We are so happy with this company and will be using them for all future irrigation needs.

Nelson arrived promptly at the agreed upon time and within a matter of a couple of minutes, he and his crew were busy at work. They quickly identified the location of the underground valve box, and within about an hour, we had the system repaired and back up and running. The grass around the area was carefully preserved and replaced, and there's no evidence that they had to dig in the yard at all. At my request, they also provided an overview of a recommended sprinkler redesign. Numerous rounds of landscaping work have caused sprinkler heads to be moved to less-than-optimal locations and have resulted in an inefficient watering system. Nelson described in detail the changes he would make to the system in and around flower beds and a large water feature, and had recommendations to permanently end the problem of crushed sprinkler heads around our circle drive. The quote we received on this incremental work was very reasonable, and we expect to have the team back out very soon to complete the work. Very pleased all around!

The work was ok, unfortunately, they didn't notice that the valve to one of the front yard zones was on continuously when the system was running which resulted in an additional visit. They did the work quickly but it would have been great if it had been done in fewer visits.

They were prompt, very polite, and explained what they were doing. Nelson solved everything, and showed me how to use it. They were very helpful. I would use them again.

Work went fine. My mother-in-law had a problem with her sprinkler and Mia's came out and fixed it for her. I forget the actual cost, but I remember it was well worth the price.

The quality of the service was good. However, the price and professionalism were not. I scheduled the appointment while my wife would be home. The technician showed up, took approximately one hour to inspect all of the sprinklers, and then told my wife the cost would be $80 to replace the sprinkler heads and perform the adjustments. After agreeing to this, the technician performed all of the work in approximately 1 hour except for one sprinkler head which would require additional tools to navigate around the tree root and would have to be scheduled at a later time. The technician then handed my wife a bill for $280 which was itemized as $80 in parts and $200 in labor! She was told we would have to schedule the additional repair a later time which would include further labor costs. I've never seen a sprinkler technician charging $100 an hour. I called the office and asked why we were charged 2 hours worth of labor when we were only quoted $80. I also noted that on their website, they mention a $29 inspection for all sprinklers, and we were charged $100 for the inspection. They agreed to reduce the bill by $71, but we would still be responsible for the additional labor to replace the additional sprinkler head. This ended up costing an additional $110. The quality of work was good, but be prepared to get an estimate in writing ahead of time for the services to be performed!

It went well. They arrived on time and completed the work in a timely manner.

Rushed through adjustments of sprinklers - Monitor filed to work in two weeks

This is an update. The provider arrived 1.5 hours late due to a flat tire. He said he did not have my phone number to be able to call me and let me know. He was polite, pleasant, and informative about what needs to be done with my sprinkler system His advice was very similar to another provider at a very competitive price. They are scheduled to start This coming Monday. I will update upon completion.

I thought they were very reasonable and very professional. I would use them in the future.

Did a great job. Only issue was scheduling the appointment. There was some miscommunication about what day they were coming but it all worked out for the best in the end.

I am very happy with that service. They are very professional and prompt in returning the call and they are fast.

They did a real good job but they did a lousy job cleaning up. They had to dig up a couple of units and replace the pumps. It was a sprinkler check, replaced two broken valves and two sprinkler heads. The service they did was fine, the sprinkler works fine and they lined them up and covered all the areas and I think the work needed to be done. They just left it really messy. I had mud all over my garage, my sidewalks and rooms. They didn't do any cleanup.

The Angie's List deal was $650 though they had to install an additional component to my sprinkler system control panel to add an extra zone for the foundation drip system. I am very satisfied with their service. I had read reviews of how Manuel did not do a good job and performed questionably. That was not the Manuel that showed up at my house. Manuel was very professional. He was very polite and courteous. Manuel explained everything and showed me everything and asked and waited for my questions before beginning any work. He quoted me that it would take 5-6 hrs. At about noon, he informed me that I could close my garage door because they were going to lunch and would be back in about an hour. I really appreciated this because it kept me in the loop of what they were doing and it helped to protect my belongings by not having my garage door opened while unattended. They came back on time and finished the job. Manuel showed me the new zone in my sprinkler control panel and advised me of the watering schedule (for my foundation). Overall, I am very satisfied with the service and I am very satisfied with how Manuel conducted himself and provided the service. I definitely will call upon Mia again should I need anything further with my sprinkler system.

I think the overall installation went as expected. I haven't seen any issues yet. The only complaint I have is that they take a few days to get back to you. I did recommend them to some of my friends though. This was a great value.

called out here twice to set timer. still does not work. more heads are broken now than when i called him in the first place.

Nice job. Did the tune-up as expected on the coupon offer and then did some extra diagnostics with recommendations. Although some incremental costs incurred, it was repairs I otherwise might have missed, at an even greater expense and inconvenience down the road. Very professional and cordial. Very punctual and kept me informed of all the steps he was taking. Nicely done!

I advise anyone using this company to make sure they run all the zones for you before they leave--we suggest TWICE. They communicated clearly what they were doing and why, explained the new system, etc. But they did not run all the stations for us before they left. We assumed that they were set for correct coverage because there were 2 guys working together so we did not ask for it either. The following day (Sunday) we discovered that two sprinklers on the far side of the house were not set correctly--my husband fixed them himself but our concern is that if we hadn't been in the yard, we might not have known for months! [Be warned: the $49 sprinkler system assessment is not deducted from the job they are there to sell.]
