Description of Work: they were not helpful. Ran through my zones and identified those that didn't work. I had already done that. They replaced two sprinkler heads for which they wanted to charge me $12 each. ????? |They quoted me an exorbitant amount to fix the wiring. Will not use in the future.

Description of Work: My sprinkler system sprung a leak in my front yard. The leak was big enough that the City Code Enforcement came by. Mia's Quick Service came by that afternoon to turn off the water to the sprinkler and came the following Monday to replace two pumps that was really old. They did an excellent job and I would highly recommend them.

Description of Work: I called Mia's to set up an appointment through Nelson at Mia's for August 20. I explained that 2 stations were not working. He said are they the last 2 stations and in the backyard. I said, "Yes. That is a common problem." He said he could not give me an estimate over the phone but he could send out 2 of his "men" and they could give me the price as soon as they arrived. I reminded him about his advertised senior and new customer discount on service and free estimates. The appointment was at 1:00 p.m. They arrived about 1:45 without calling - I had to call Nelson to ask if they were coming. They took about 40 minutes walking around the yard stating they could not find the "orange box" which was next to the faucet in the back yard. They told me it would cost me $500 to dig up my yard since the two stations which were not working could not get power. They said if they could not find the wiring in the yard, they would have to charge me more. Then, they said they had been at my house an hour and I already owed them $95 (the per hour charge) and that they were now going into the 2d hour and that would be another $95. They did no work at all, except for checking the power on the wires. I called Nelson and reminded him of the free estimate and he said he would talk to them. I told them I could not afford the $500 and that I would not pay for the advertised free estimate. They left loose wires at the control box and finally began to leave but would not charge the hourly charge if I paid for $40 for their gasoline. They had me in tears telling me I had to pay for two hours of service. I realized they would not leave until paid them. I told them I did not have $40 cash and asked if I could put it on my credit card. Then the man in charge made another call to Nelson and then decided not to charge me. |Today I had an electrical contractor come to repair the sprinklers. He replaced defective solenoids. There was no digging and the job was done in about 15 minutes. The charge was $75.00. |

Description of Work: Nelson fixed the valve that controls the water flow to the whole yards. Both sides have broke. He also check the sprinkler on all settings to ensure it was operational before leaving. He came back the next day to ensure it was going to hold up before it covered it with dirt. He was very cordial, and nice. As a matter of fact, he saw me the same day that I inquired about his services. Others pushed me back for 2 weeks !!! I recommend Nelson and his company for all sprinkler repair !

Description of Work: Fixed a leaking pipe in our sprinkler system. First visit (estimate) was punctual, quick, and pleasant. Second visit fixed the problem, but nicked a wire that made other sprinklers stop working. They were a little slow to fix the problem, but did so with no issues.

Description of Work: The sprinkler heads would stick up after sprinkling and then the lawn guys would lop them off with the lawnmower. Every week it was the same and my husband would be out there replacing heads. The lawn guys claim they will fix any heads they destroy, but we found they used 8 ft heads to replace 15 ft heads, etc. So we had Mia's guys test and retest the heads until all the ones that would stick were found. They replaced them all with the kind of heads we wanted. They suggested we install a drip line around the house because of water restrictions (this was 2014). We agreed and they installed the next day. We are very pleased--no more sticking sprinkler heads.
