Everyone thought it was weird to "get new stairs" but it has truly elevated (pun intended) the look of our early 90's home (check out our before and after photos!). Chris was extremely helpful from our first email to job completion. He helped us pick materials for the contemporary look we were going for and made suggestions to keep costs down. His installation team was also extremely professional, meticulous and courteous. We are thrilled with the finished product. I wish we had more stairs they could do for us! Note: Chris's team did not do the painting or staining - that had to be done by other contractors we hired separately. We highly recommend Aaron's Touchups & Restoration and Sun Painting.

I could not be happier with how beautiful my stairs turned out to be, and could no be happier with the overall service. Chris, the owner, came to our house to measure the stairs and to discuss all the possibilities. After providing estimates for different options and answering my many questions, we settled on a design. It didn't take long before we were scheduled for the work. In all, it took about 3 days to complete the work (not including stain and paint, which they do not do). I used a painter recommended by Chris, which took another 4 days to complete. The craftsmanship of the work was outstanding. Chris also did not collect any money until the work was completed and he was sure I was completely satisfied. I would highly recommend Higher Level Stairs.
Description of Work: Higher Level Stairs did a complete remodel of my stairs, including removing carpet from the steps, installing wood steps and risers, replacing the Newell posts and the replacing wood balustrades with iron ones.

Chris and his team were fantastic to work with on this project. Chris spent extra time on the front end of the sale to make sure he understood our style and presented excellent options in great detail. Once the project began, they were on time, efficient and maintained a clean work area. It couldn't have been any better.

Exceeded expectations. Wonderful craftsmanship. Would definitely use again. I am looking for before and after pics. It was unbelievable. Honest company. It's been about a year since the work was done but something always pops up in our lives so I'm finally getting around to submitting a review. It has been on my "to do" and I definitely wanted to give everyone notice about this company. I can't remember the cost, it was cheap but it was beyond well worth it. Every time we walk up our stairs we just can't believe it.
Description of Work: complete stair remodel, restored my faith in contractors and mankind (no really, they did). There is one another contractor that completed my solid wood floors as well.

Our staircase was looking a little dated so I contact Chris, the owner, for an estimate on iron baluster replacement. I liked the fact that he confirmed my appointment via text the day before scheduled meeting. To me, this set the tone for someone who's organized and professional. He was on time and brought actual iron baluster samples to show us the different options available. He also utilized a web design tool to produce sample image to help us better visualize end result. Post appointment, he was great with responding to my email inquiries and explaining everything in detail. I appreciated how his estimate/work agreement proposal clearly outlined the work to be conducted, which covered all aspects of the job including details such as site preparation (plastic covering to wall off areas of work to reduce dust issues). He worked with us on an ideal installation date and his team arrived on time for work. Since our family does not wear shoes indoors, they respectfully used shoe booties and floor coverings and the crew lead vaccumed up all dust at end of job. Installation took less than a day and the iron balusters were beautifully installed. I would definitely recommend anyone who's in the market for a stair case revamp or "face lift" to contact Chris right away.

Incredible! We just remodeled our entire downstairs, complete new kitchen, tore down walls, new floors, all new windows, sliding doors, master bedroom door to pool & complete remodel of master bath including expanding that rooms too. So it only made sense to replace the old 90's style staircase - but when I heard the price I was in shock! Stairs are bloody expensive more than some of the remodeling projects going on.. However when I spoke to Chris - the owner of Higher level he explained to me in detail what it would take and I was so impressed by his knowledge and sincerity on the fact that it is an expensive project - he was not pushy he was very happy to try to work with me on cutting budget where we could.. he was by far the easiest and most pleasurable company to work with during the entire process of my remodel. The stairs are showcase ready they are just beautiful. My house would not be as beautiful had I not done the stairs! I would 100% recommend his company!

Chris was fabulous to speak with on stair remodel project. Even though he was not available in the time frame I needed, he still spent several minutes with me to educate me on remodel strategies and possible costs for those options. This provided me with wonderful insight to talk with other contractors. Thank you very much, Chris, for your time.

Chris was awesome! He got back to me immediately. Within a few days we had agreed on the work that was going to be needed. His estimate was very reasonable and his work was amazing. They cleaned up after themselves and made sure they were careful with my furniture by covering all up. They were don't within a two day period. Gorgeous work and very professional. I would definitely refer him to anyone!!

My stair rail post had become loose over the years. The previous owners had attempted to fix it themselves by adding more nails and screws to tighten it; this had made the post not possible to tighten the right way using the post bolt. I had another general handyman company come out to look at it, and their stair professional would not touch it citing how poorly in shape it was. That is when I contacted Higher Level Stairs. Their craftsman came out, gave us a very reasonable estimate to fix the post the right way, and we had the work completed that very day. We are very happy with the work that was completed.

We bought iron balusters for our two-story staircase, replacing original wooden ones. Chris showed top professionalism from the first inquiry through completion of job. Prompt replies to emails and voice mails. We set a date, then Chris agreed to our change of date needed. During install he and his guys were courteous to my wife and exhibited the utmost competency. My wife even said "These guys are awesome" when I called to check on the progress. Highly recommend. We'll use them again if we have needed jobs.

Chris and his team are true craftsmen. I have done many remodeling jobs and this complete remodel of a 5000 sq ft historic home on Swiss Ave in Dallas is my own residence and labor of love for over a year now. I brought Chris in to rebuild a gorgeous main staircase because we raised the landing where the stairs turned at the top. I was VERY concerned about the job because it's a focal point of the entrance and couldn't be happier with the job done by Chris and his team. We worked off and on for months as the job progressed and he was always there when he said he would be, was honest in his price and work ethic, and did an outstanding job. If you want someone cheap to come and do a cheap job, Chris is not your guy. But if you want a fair price for craftsman work, I'd recommend him without hesitation.
Description of Work: Completely rebuilt master staircase for 100yo historic home including original handrail that needed custom extension and grafting into the original. Rebuilt treads out of custom brazilian cherry material for 2 addtional staircases in the rear and 3rd floor.

It was a pleasure doing business with HigherLevel Stairs, Inc. Chris and Scott were responsive and punctual through out the process. HigherLevel Stairs did quality work and were very neat while in my home. The work took 1 1/2 days and when they left everything was cleaned up and put back in place. I was very impressed with their professionalism and expertise throughout the process. I plan on having Higher Level Stairs come back in the next few months to do some additional work on my balusters. I couldn't be more please with my new oak steps and the trim panels that they added. I would recommend Higher Level Stairs to anyone looking to update, repair, or install new stairs.
Description of Work: Removed the old carpeted steps and installed solid oak steps. Also, installed wood trim panels on the side of the stair and under the edge of the second floor balcony.

Everything went smoothly and in the the time frame that had been quoted.
Description of Work: We contacted Chris Ruppert to discuss replacing our wood ballisters with wrought iron. Chris responded promptly to our inquiry by setting up an appointment to discuss our job and show us pictures and samples. We received a proposal based on our choices from which we selected and ordered. We signed a contract and was given an installation date. Chris was very flexible and accommodating. We have a son with acute asthma and he assured us he would do everything he could to keep the dust to a minimum during the installation. Chris called me over the weekend prior to our agreed upon date to say he could install a couple of days earlier due to another job having to be moved later. We were happy to accommodate. They arrived on time and set up plastic walls just as he said. The install went smoothly and cleanup was immaculate. I was very pleased with their work and the stairway is beautiful. I would highly recommend Chris to anyone looking to do any kind of stairway project.

From day one, Chris was highly responsive to my questions and emails and went above and beyond trying to find what I wanted. I had very ornate balusters and have disliked them since we moved into our home. I was looking for a very simple, contemporary design (which apparently is difficult to find when it comes to balusters). Chris sent me PDFs of catalogs and made suggestions so i didn't have to dig through it all by myself. I found the perfect design and, of course, it was one that was being discontinued! However, Chris searched and found the 10 I needed for my project in Georgia. He called as soon as they came in and was over the next day to install them. They are just beautiful and Scott did a superb job on the installation. They were meticulous about cleaning up and performed the installation in just a couple of hours. I am delighted with the job Higher Level did and highly recommend them.

It went great, they were very professional, cleaned up after themselves. They asked me to call them to report how secure it was after the epoxy dried.
Description of Work: Stair railing was loose, wiggly and unsafe. They evaluated the railing and its connections, and were very honest about what could and could not be done. They did a wonderful job, and it is solid as a rock now. They secured the main vertical post, the previous bolts had broken off, they put in new ones...but it was still loose. They then glued some of the posts back into place, and resecured the rail to the wall with new bolts.
