Dealing with Roger felt like doing business in a small town with the local handyman! Everything was agreed upon with a simple handshake! I contacted Freedom Electric and Peerless Electric for quotes to put up 2 huge, heavy chandeliers and install a simple outdoor motion light in the backyard. Roger from Freedom came over within a day or two to give me an estimate of about $350-$450 for everything. After receiving a quote of about $1200 from Peerless, of course, I called to schedule an appt. with Roger. TIP: Buy the Angie's List coupon for $155/2 hrs labor! I only had to use the coupon in the end-nothing extra!! Roger installed one chandelier within 30 mins and then rescheduled a time to return later in the week to install the larger, heavier one in the living room when he had a friend available to help. When he returned, he and his friend hung up the chandelier and spend 45 mins-at least-hanging all 200 crystal balls! Afterwards, he went outside with my husband to put up the motion light but, after he discovered we were constructing a lighted gazebo in the hear future, he instructed us to return the light and wait! He could have easily charged us the labor to install the light and later come back to do additional lighting in the gazebo but didn't! VERY HONEST with HIGH INTEGRITY! It doesn't end there....as he was leaving, he noticed a broken motion light by the garage door. He returned the next week and fixed it while I wasn't home FOR FREE! AWESOME guy! Will definitely refer him to everyone!

We bought the $80 fan installation special from Angies list. He didn't show up the 1st time so had to reschedule to the following day. While he was here, he fixed a 2nd fan, and shortend the chain on our dining room light, and he didn't charge us any extra beyond the original $80. We got a lot for our money!

I had him replace my breaker box (I needed a 220). I liked him and I was happy with the Deal. I've had work done by his competitors for more, so I was happy with the price. The box has held up fine since he did the work. There was a small mess when he left, but otherwise it went well. He was very knowledgeable and helpful in answering my questions.

Now my tenant is saying that the frig circuit, which is the same one that Roger worked on, is tripping off. She has the frig plugged into the dining room with an industrial extension cord. She asked that I please not call Roger again, and I agree that it would be a waste of time. I don't know how long Angie's honors the coupons purchased from them. I'll just have to call them on Monday and find out. He seems friendly and honest, but I think he is a BS-er. After he had my $155, he was of no further help. Calling him back for rescheduling did not help in any way. I'm glad that some people have had a nice experience with him but I will always check the negative reviews before hiring anyone else from Angie's, no matter how high their average grade is. HINT: See if/how a provider responds to the negative reviews, because you may be writing a very similar one if you don't take this step.

I wanted an additional GFCI electrical outlet installed in each of two bathrooms and 1 in a vanity area off the bedroom. My house is almost 50 years old and has some weird layouts, but Roger was able to accommodate and did a great job installing the outlets. It took him just about 2 hours to complete the job.

Purchased Angie's List Freedom Electric Deal which was $155.00 for two hours of electrical work. Freedom Electric, based upon the reviews, seemed like a good company to do business with. Initial contact with Roger was easy and set up a time to come out to the house on 3/24/2014 at 9:15 am to review the work which needed to be done. On 3/24/2014, I waited until 9:45 am prior to calling Roger to determine if he was still coming. At 9:45 am Roger stated that he was running late and would be on his way, and ultimately arrived between 10:15 - 10:30 am. Roger stated that he was dealing with some issues getting his children to school and due to the fact that I have kids, I understood his situation and decided (although I would have to take off longer from work than I had expected) to allow him to come to the house later than planned. During the visit, the work was detailed and Roger stated that he would come back on 3/31/2014 to perform the work. For one switch Roger stated that he would have to order a special conduit to run the wires through in order to install a new kitchen light switch. Roger stated that this conduit would be ordered and installed when the other items were completed on 3/31/2014. On 3/31/2014, Roger arrived on time to perform the work. The work was performed expeditiously and professionally. Roger stated that he did not have the conduit to install the kitchen switch and would have to return either Thursday / Friday (later the same week) to finish the job. Roger stated that he would call me to set up a time for Thursday / Friday. Thursday and Friday came and went and Roger did not call nor return to perform the remainder of the work. Between the dates of 4/5/14 - 4/12/14, I traveled out of the country on business and was not able to follow up with Roger of Freedom Electric. Upon my return to work on 4/14/2014, I texted Roger regarding the remaining work to be completed. Approximately 30 seconds after sending a text to Roger a response was received regarding the status of the unfinished work which stated "I will complete this week." Roger called me and left me a voicemail on 4/15/14. I followed up with him via text on 4/16/14 inquiring about the status of the unfinished work in my home. Roger texted back stating "I will try for Friday will call you tomorrow." Roger then called and after speaking with him, I decided to cancel the remainder of the work which was yet to be completed by Freedom Electric. Make no mistake, the work I requested included installing new 110 outlets, new light switches and new light fixtures, none of which are complicated or sophisicated for a licensed and professsional electric company. Freedom Electric needs to understand that timeliness and communication are two of the most important factors considered by working families when deciding to hire one contractor over another.

We scheduled the service for a Friday afternoon, but I wanted to postpone because I needed particular fluorescent light. He said he would check with a couple of his distributors, but I never heard back from him. I have decided to do something else. He was very nice and courteous.

We have used Freedom Electric twice and both times Roger has been prompt, professional, and did what we needed. We'll use him again.

Took him about 15 minutes. He was going to write up a bill for the parts and I showed him the Angie's List coupon, which we'd talked about on the phone, for 2 hours for $155. He said that would cover it and left. Felt weird not getting a receipt and I'm not sure if it would have been cheaper without the coupon for the parts and amount of time spent.

Very satisfied with the job he did.

Once we coordinated a time, Roger made a special trip back to his shop to get a higher ladder. He then arrived on time, assessed the situation, and replaced the unit. I was impressed that he easily overcame the special challenges, worked cheerfully and confidently, and got the job done quickly.

Roger scheduled our appointment quickly and showed up promptly on the day of service. He way exceeded our expectations! We had removed a wall in a room we are remodeling and had several outlets and light switches hanging down from a hole in the ceiling. Roger told us what we needed to do for code and then he re-routed the wiring and mounted a couple of dimmer switches on the wall. I was thinking that would pretty much take all of the 2 hours we had purchased, but he was able to drop another outlet box in a hallway - as well as put in 2 additional outlet boxes in our overhead kitchen cabinets, which we wanted to have so that we can install under cabinet lighting at a later time. We will have additional electrical needs in the future and will most definitely use Freedom Electric again. Very professional, knowledgeable - and FAST!

He did a great job. He was very patient and he started working until he was finished. He was really professional. He wasn't nickel and diming me. He was on time. He was dressed professionally. He did his job.

There was an ice storm around the time I purchased the deal. It took him a couple of days to get here, but only because of weather conditions. I perceived that I had a much larger electrical issue and it was not. Since he was able to complete the work in only 30 minutes, the parts and labor were all included in the deal. They were no additional costs beyond the prepaid rate of the deal. He exceeded my expectations!

On the day I purchased the deal, I received an email requesting to call the company. When I called him, he said he would call me back the next day. However, he did not call back within a couple of days and I called and the appointment was made. Once he did come out, he took care of everything. He was very professional with the work and cleaned up well. I had paid for two hours of work and he spent an hour completing the work. I had asked for an estimate on additional work, but he never got back to me. I have no problem with the work that he did, but he never called me back for the estimate.

Called Roger on Friday, Feb 28 and left a message regarding installation of 3 fans. He called back within 30 mins and we scheduled a date of March 5th. Roger called in advance to let us know he was on the way which I appreciated. Installation was handled well so very pleased with the service.

We had a hard time getting together at first, but Roger was always responsive to my calls and ended up doing a great job with all of the projects. Furthermore, he arrived on time and cleaned up after himself.

I bought the Angie's list special on a Sunday afternoon. A big thundersleet storm was hitting the DFW area. Despite the bad weather Roger called Monday morning and was at my house within an hour. He walked in and started troubleshooting the non working outlet, immediately. After using his test equipmment he found wires in the switch box that the previous homeowner/electrician had failed to even hook up he was able to get the outlet working. He then quickly went through the entire room we were remdeling and switched all of the outlets and light switches to brand new white ones.

Great job. Got everything done quickly and efficiently.
