I took my laptop in as a last ditch effort before giving up on it and getting a new one. I took my laptop to his house to save money. He optimized some things to help it run faster. Turned out my fan had gone out and he ordered and installed a new one at a great price. Very prompt, courteous and reasonably priced. He also answered all my random questions and gave me advice on maintaining my laptop. For very little money I was able to keep my old laptop. My only complaint is that when I tried to call him recently for some work he didn't return my calls. Maybe he's out of business, I don't know.

Brian had some personal time restraints that could have affected his services for me, but he did all the work in just a few days for a price a lot lower than a lot of other computer repair specialists. He upgraded my hard drive and OS. My computers both work great, and I absolutely recommend him and his repair service wholeheartedly!

My Laptop power button broke and I could not power up my Laptop. I explained to Brian my dilemma and the need to get it the laptop running the same day. Brian told me to bring it over and he would diagnose the problem. Brian quickly diagnosed the problem and showed me how to power it up while he orders a replacement keyboard. He will call me once he receives it and he will complete the repair. I was very appreciative that he was able to get me up and running while he ordered the replacement keyboard. Brian did not charge me for his services today and the cost for the new keyboard will be $40.00 plus labor. I am very happy to find Brian and would highly recommend him for anyone having PC problems.

It went great. Had just a little trouble locating him, but once I got the computer to him and talked to him about what was going on - he knew exactly how to fix it. He also did a complete check up on the system, cleaned up some unnecessary programs and got it back to me in less than 24 hours. I will definitely go back to him next time I have a computer problem!

The repairs were very successful! I now have a functioning computer. I am very happy with the service, contact and follow-up. In addition to the repairs, I was instructed on other methods to reduce the malware content, which will be very helpful. I have 2 other laptops that will probably need Allen Geeks help too.

My PC is always current with virus definitions and Windows updates, but I couldn't get rid of this persistent virus causing pop-ups and possibly unknown damage. Someone from our IT support team at work checked out my PC and made some improvements, but still didn't solve the problem. I am so glad to be a member of Angie's List, otherwise I wouldn't have found Brian at Allen Geeks! I contacted him by email and he promptly responded and we agreed to a time for him to check out my PC on Saturday. He explained what he would do and why. Of course I was reluctant to give someone remote access to my PC, but the reviews were so strong, I was willing to trust him. He did a couple of system scans, uninstalled NAV and installed a more efficient anti-virus and another tool for malware and did an operational review of my PC to ensure best performance. The virus is gone, the response time is much faster and I am a happy camper. Brian is professional, responsive and explains in simple terms what he is doing and why. His pricing is very reasonable. You will get competence, customer focus and value for your dollar with Allen Geeks. Should I need PC support in the future, I will contact Brian without hesitation.

Brian is the most amazing and awesome person I have ever dealt with when it comes to computer issues. He complety reformated my computer and cleaned up a bunch of wothless stuff that I had put on it. My wifes computer was just a mess and Brian went through it, cleaned it up and formatted it so that we could understand it better. There is no way that I will ever go anywhere else to have any work done on our computers. Thank you very much!

The laptop was reformatted and all programs replaced on the computer. He gave additional advice on how to avoid future viruses.

Brian was able to take care of my sons' laptops within several hours and did a brilliant job! Cleaned up both of my sons' laptops, installed FREE anti-virus programs, and gave us advice on what not to do again to keep them running well! Brian also made recommendations for speeding up the computer even faster in the future. My son said just working on his laptop after Brian fixed it, just made him smile because it was so fast!!

I had read many of the reviews that Allen Geeks already had on Angie's List. He seemed almost too good to be true. Well, I am a complete believer now! Brian came when he said he would. He could easily have left in about 15 minutes, as he had diagnosed my problem (correctly), but instead he stayed and spoke with my Technical Support Department to let them know his suspicions. He would not accept payment for his services until I called him a couple of days later to confirm that all was working well. He also called the next day to see if the problem had been fixed. His charge was almost ridiculously low, considering that he actually came to my home to work on the problem. Fortunately, we live near each other. Still, it showed that he was really interested in helping me. I unhesitatingly recommend Allen Geeks to anyone who needs help with a computer that is not working as it should.

I was having problems on my PC that was effecting my ability to use my browsers. My regular protection (Norton Internet Security) was not catching the problems. And apparently the problem began when my 10 year old downloaded a game that brought all the problems with it. I took the PC to Allen Geeks and he said he would have it repaired in three or four hours. After only two hours the PC was fixed and when I picked it up Brian (the technition) took time with me and showed me what he did to correct the problem and and made some good suggestions to avoid these problems. Great professional service. Would definitely use Allen Geeks again.

This is the second time I've used Allen Geeks for computer support. The first laptop Brian worked on for me belongs to my mother and continues to run like a top. This time, I needed Brian's help on my laptop. Not only did he make the appropriate adjustments to 'fix' what was broken, he upgraded my operating system to a later, more stable version. He did all this within a 24-hour period. My computer now boots successfully / quicker, runs faster and quieter, and shuts down quicker. This guy is good...real good.

Based on Angie's list reviews and ratings I used Allen Geeks to repair my wife's PC. I'm somewhat technically savvy, but I could not get my wife's PC to bootup with anything that enabled me to see what was wrong with her PC. I suspected a bad hard drive. Took the PC to Brian and even he was surprised at how difficult it was to get to anything of worth on the hard drive. After a few attempts with different utilities he was able to find one that was able to see my wife's files. So I left the PC there overnight. The hard drive was not salvageable nor imageable due to too many bad sectors. Brian was able to recover the critical files and more for my wife. I had provided a SSD drive as a replacement to the mechanical Seagate HD. Brian loaded Windows 8.1 and all the Dell OEM drivers to the PC as well as additional insight on what security SW to use and backup methods. I used the Angie's List coupon and overall the price was very, very reasonable.

I bought a new computer and attempted to transfer the data from my old computer to my new computer. It did not work out as planned and my new computer became very slow and sluggish and lost some of it's features. I called Allen Geeks and Brian was able to help me get the computer up and running quickly and easily. He is very knowledgeable and very easy to work with and explained everything that needed to be done. I would highly recommend him if you have any computer related problem. I will certainly use him again in the future for any issues I may have.

Loved this guy!!! He started working on my laptop the same day I called, and had it repaired (and working better) the next day. He replaced my hard drive, got all my documents off the old hard drive, and charged me way less than Best Buy, which is where I used to go. I totally recommend him!

I called Brian on Sunday afternoon, and he stopped by the following Tuesday. My problem was that the wireless router in our house did not reach our media room, and that we needed connectivity in that room to run google chrome and the blu-ray player. Brian advised that the best solution would be to install a second router that we already owned as an access point, which would give us full bars of connectivity in all rooms of our house, on one seamless network. Brian did exactly that for us in one hour. I will definitely use Brian in the future for any computer or networking issues.

He charged $100 for the job including a $20 travel charge and did a good job.

My PC went from working pretty well - just a tad slow - to not being able to open a single program or file, overnight. Because I conduct most of my business on this computer, I had to get it repaired or replaced immediately, so I checked with several companies via Angie's List. I was afraid that my mother board or hard drive had crashed, and I had not backed up most of my recent files. I had already made arrangements with a company that does house-calls when I got a return call from Brian at Allen Geeks. He seemed very conversant with the problems I was experiencing and said he was sure he could get me up and going in just a day or two. He gave me an estimate based on the problems I described and I took the computer to him that same day. Brian turned on my computer while I was there and confirmed his phone diagnosis of a bad drive. He agreed to the price he had estimated, even though he would be re-installing two programs - from disks - that were not part of his estimate. The next day Brian called to let me know that the PC was good to go, so I went to pick it up. It was not only functioning better than it had in a long time, he was able to retrieve data on the bad drive and also streamlined some of the processes and re-organized things to maximize my storage and speed. Bottom line? Allen Geeks delivered more than I asked for less money than I expected, and did it on time. He also was patient with my questions and said to call him back if I had problems or questions. I would recommend Brian's company without reservation.

I went to Allen Geeks for a computer lock up problem and we could not get the system to upgrade to Windows 8.1 on my son?s computer. Prior to taking the computer to Allen Geeks we tried to run memtest86 to check out the system memory and the computer kept shutting down during the test. Brian kept us continuously informed as to the status of the repair and he told us the version of memtest86 we tried was not compatible with our mother board and he was able to get the correct version to run. He also told us that some of our memory was not being shown, we had some corrupt files and we had some malware. Here is Brian?s reply on what did for us, ?After removing the malware, updating the OS to 8.1, updating the BIOS, reseating the memory modules, updating the video drivers, cleaning out the video card, and running an Intel Burn Test for 12 hours the system has been rock solid?. He also ran a 100% cpu 100% memory burn in test. We also requested a solid state drive (SSD) and he installed one, he set up the operating system on it and moved over most of the data to the other hard drive. He took his time and showed us on the video board where to clean, explained about storing the data on the larger hard drive and not the SSD. In addition, he installed the free version of malwarebytes and explained how to use it. This was all done for $255 and $175 of that total was for the purchase and installation of the SSD. I waited a few days before writing this review to make sure the computer would still be running and it is working great and my son loves the speed of the SSD. Brian was thorough, professional, kept us updated and provided us with top quality service for a reasonable price I would definitely use and recommend Allen Geeks for any future computer needs.

I got him from Angie’s List. He was very responsive and I like that a lot. I give “A’s” across the board.

I was to take my computer to Allen Geeks a week earlier but when I could not find his location I called and got this voice mail. I left a message but when he called back I had already left the area. He does business out of his home which is in a semi-rural residential area. A week later I was able to drop my machine off. He had it ready when promised and it works fine. I would do business with this provider again.

It went very well. Responded and scheduled the drop off quickly. Identified the issues and explianed the options. it ended up with the best result we expected, on time and within budget.

Brian contacted me promptly and once we establish the remote access to my computer he worked quickly to remove the problems.Brian is clearly experienced and competent professional. I would not hesitate to use Brian again and would recommend to others

Brian did a great job with everything. My computer, printer, iPhone, and iPad all had problems of different types--none of them were working. After two hours of work, Brian had everything set-up and running smoothly. All of my mobile devices connected quickly to the Internet. Today, Brian returned to set up and install my flat panel LED TVs (2), completed the cable wiring, etc. Both televisions work perfectly using just one remote each. I cannot think of enough good things to say about Brian and his work. What I do know is that all of my electronics are now working great! Before Brian came to work with me, none of them were functioning. Brian is a true professional, and really knows his business thoroughly. I can recommend him without hesitation and will continue to use his services in the future.
