ADVANCED PLASTER & TILE

With so many pool renovation companies to select from we chose Advanced Plaster and Tile based on price, knowledge and confidence that they could restore our pool. The pool needed to be plastered and tiled along with new equipment and deck resurfacing. We had to keep the existing coping and took JT’s recommendation with the VCR Crema color tile and Stonescapes Tropics Blue mini pebble. The end result was amazing and we couldn’t be happier. There were many options along the way but we were immediately informed of any cost adjustments to make a decision. We were able to take back our green pool from the frogs and have been enjoying it for the last month. JT is extremely knowledgeable and shared much information on pool care and equipment. Needless to say, we would highly recommend Advanced Plaster and Tile.

JT came out on time and gave us a bid based on our specific needs. The crew showed up as scheduled and the work was done in a timely manner. However, after the work was done, we ran into what we felt were some issues in the way the plaster looked. JT was dismissive stating that the issues we saw in the plaster were “organic” and would go away by themselves. The issues never went away and based on our phone conversations and emails, we were frustrated with JT’s need to act superior and not be very helpful. Now, 2 years later, there are still issues with the pools surface. The last time we had our pool replastered, it lasted better than 14 years and would have lasted even longer than that. The only reason we replastered when we did was because of some chemical issues that couldn’t be resolved without emptying the pool. We felt like 14 years was a gift at that point and figured we’d replaster after emptying the pool and before refilling. It’s abundantly clear that we will be lucky to get 5-6 years out of this plaster, and that’s only if we can live with what we’re seeing. We are very disappointed with this project.

JT was very polite, and explained the process and the product well. We liked this product because it is smooth, and some of the other products are a bit rough. Because we needed to spend the money on the drain repair, we did not upgrade to a color, but the pool has that light blue swimming-pool look anyway. Advanced Plaster and Tile sent us a tentative schedule by e-mail, which was great. Some weather problems came up so some of the work got pushed back. Workers were good, seemed to know how to do the work. They cleaned up the area very nicely.

They showed up on time to do the work. They got finished ahead of when they said they would be. They cleaned up everything when they were done. They made sure everything was going to be good.

POLITE, VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND RESPONSIBLE.

DEALING WITH THE OWNER OF THIS COMPANY HAS BEEN A VERY FRUSTRATING EXPERIENCE. AFTER THE COMPLETION OF OUR POOL AND ONCE WE BEGAN SWIMMING IN THE POOL LAST SUMMER, WE NOTICED A NUMBER OF THINGS THAT WERE NOT RIGHT. CHILDREN AND ADULTS WERE HAVING THEIR FEET BLEEDING AFTER SWIMMING FOR SHORT WHILES IN OUR POOL DUE TO THE ROUGHNESS OF THE NEW SURFACE. ADDITIONALLY, SEVERAL AREAS OF THE FLAGSTONE AND COPING WERE SEPARATING FROM THE DECK AND POOL WALL LEAVING HOLES UNDERNEATH THE ROCK. THE SPA WAS NOT RESURFACED WELL. THERE IS A DENT IN THE BOTTOM OF THE SPA THAT COLLECTS LEAVES AND OTHER JUNK BUT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO CLEAN. ADDITIONALLY, THE NEW DRAINS IN THE SPA DO NOT DRAIN. ALL THE LEAVES COLLECT IN THE BOTTOM OF THE SPA. I HAVE CONTACTED THIS COMPANY BY PHONE AND IN WRITING AT LEAST 6 TIMES SINCE THE POOL WAS DONE. THEY HAVE COME OUT AND LOOKED AT THE PROBLEM, PROMISED TO FIX IT AND HAVE NEVER DONE SO. I HAVE BEEN TREATED WITH DISRESPECT AND HOPE THE PROBLEM GETS RESOLVED.
