Description of Work: I had four dining room chairs that were wobbly. They reglued them. One was very simple, the other three were a little more complicated. I asked for them in three weeks and they were done in that time frame. They did an excellent job. I did think the price was a somewhat high, but the chairs are solid now.

Description of Work: Tried to repair an area where refinish had been removed due to water - repair didn't work so they refinished - within 24 hours you could see the area again where the stain was reapplied - almost like it bled through the refinish - not a good experience - they tried to say it was due to the use of pledge or something other than water caused the finish to discolor which neither was the case - they initially told me if they couldn't reoair they would refinish which I assumed refinishing would take care of the problem - it didn't

Response from LITTLE JACK HORNER'S FURNITURE RESTORATION
This customer presented us with a table leaf that had been damaged by an unknown liquid having spilled and remained on the wood surface of the leaf for an unknown period of time. It was told to us that the leaf had been covered by glass and the damage became apparent only after the glass was removed. The customer was in a rush to have it repaired due to having sold the table (and leaf) and scheduled a time for the buyer to pick it up. The buyer was unaware of the damage and the customer wished to have it repaired before the buyer picked up the furniture. The finish was completely removed in the damaged area. An attempt to touch up the area and match the existing finish did not work to our's or the customer's satisfaction, so we did strip and refinish the entire table leaf. When completed it did match the other leaf and the damaged area looked fine. She returned with the leaf days later and there was an area with some very slight discoloration. In summary, we were given the leaf to repair in an extremely short time period (before the buyer shows up), which had been damaged by an unknown substance, not necessarily clear water, at an unknown time in the past. She states that she "assumed refinishing would take care of the problem". We advised her before work was started that not all stains can be removed 100% percent and that we would try within the time constraints she had. She also states that it was "not a good experience". It was not a good experience for us either. We don't like to have any customer dissatisfied, however we did the best possible job in the very limited time available. In hindsight, we should not have tried to complete the project within her time constraints. Rather we should have handled this as we normally do and taken the time to more thoroughly assess the damage. Different methods are available to treat stains of different origins. More time would have given us the opportunity to use other options which might have resulted in better results. We have been in business almost 25 years and over that time I can recall only three unhappy clients. We always strive for complete satisfaction.

Although the price was somewhat high and the work took longer than initially scheduled, they did a great job. The chairs looked brand new and appear to be solidly rebuilt. Joe had some family problems that caused a slight delay and the upholstery shop (they outsource the upholstery) was very backed up and didn't get to our chairs as soon as we had been told they would. Still, the quality of work was very high.
Description of Work: Joe and Vivian refinished 4 dining room chairs, including re-upholstery and rebuilding the frames.

THE REPRESENTATIVE ARRIVED AND PICKED UP THE ITEMS TO BE REFINISHED. AFTER THEY COMPLETED THE WORK THEY DELIVERED THE ITEMS BACK TO MY HOUSE. THEY EXPLAINED THE CHARGES ON THE BILL AND DIDN'T ATTEMPT TO SELL ME ANYTHING EXTRA.

I WAS GIVEN A LOT OF INFORMATION IN MY PHONE CALL TO ARRANGE AN APPOINTMENT AND WAS LOOKING FORWARD TO THE MEETING TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THE FURNITURE I NEEDED REFINISHED. A DISAPPOINTING CONCLUSION.

HE DID BEAUTIFUL WORK. I THOUGHT THE MONEY I SPENT WAS WELL WORTH THE TIME AND EFFORT. I DIDN'T HAVE TO DO IT MYSELF AND I KNEW IT WOULD BE DONE RIGHT AND NOT MESS UP MY GREAT GRANDMOTHERS CHAIR. I WOULD RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE THAT NEEDED SOMETHING REFINISHED AND WANTED TO KNOW IT WAS DONE RIGHT.

HE PROVIDED HIGH QUALITY WORK AND RESTORED MY CHAIRS BACK TO THEIR ORIGINAL CONDITION. I DO THINK HIS PRICES WERE A LITTLE HIGH ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING THE LENGTH OF TIME IT TOOK TO COMPLETE THE JOB. IT TOOK APPROXIMATELY 2 1/2 MONTHS TO COMPLETE ALL 7 CHAIRS. OVERALL I WOULD RECOMMEND HIM IF YOU ARE NOT IN A HURRY AND WANT QUALITY WORK PERFORMED.
