Description of Work: We recently purchased a home on Lake Fork in East TX. It was built in 1987 - so at 26 years old, there were several problems that needed immediate repair. A very respectable local builder who was out giving us a bid for remodeling work, referred us to James Blake, an electrician the builder rated as "the best." Said James does all his company's electrical work and he has never been disappointed. So we contacted James and he was out that evening for a bid. Lucky for us, he was getting ready to start a large job but had time to swing by and do the work for us before starting that large job. The next day, James began making electrical repairs, such as installing GFI switches where needed throughout the house and on our boathouse pier, corrected some reverse polarity plugs which might have harmed our computers, TVs, etc. He crawled up in our attic to fix a couple of switches that needed a cover plate and discovered a couple of other small repairs which he mentioned immediately. He installed an electrical cut off switch for our ac unit, all in all - a lot of small items. He did the job very well, very professional, was fast, courteous - and we will definitely use him for future electrical needs. I'd like to add that we live in a rural area - outside city limits so building to codes is not mandatory. Inspectors do not inspect work outside the city - unless requested to do so. I told James we preferred to meet code regulations regardless so we could feel safe in our home. That was his standard procedure. Overall, if anyone asks us for the name of a great electrician, we would happpily recommend James Blake in the Alba, Texas area.
