When the walls were demolished, numerous issues were revealed: failure to install a proper shower pan; failure to properly tie in a small addition to the main house, the usage of damaged and burned lumber to frame out the addition, failure to use green board in all wet areas, wall and windows were not sealed property, floor framing was inconsistent, and wall framing didn't meet codes, even from that period, according to the experienced and reputable contractors who would up repairing it all. The list goes on and on. I called Mr. Sharp and asked him to come out and visit with me about this work. To his credit, he did show up, but he denied any responsibility or liability and pretty much ran out as fast as he could after blaming some of the shoddy work on his brother. He did claim to be working on some very high-end homes in North Dallas at the time. If so, I pity those consumers. I looked further into the company and found records with the Texas Secretary of State's office indicating the state forfeited the charter for this business in 2011. I realize all this work occurred years ago, but I didn't join Angie's List until a few months ago and finally decided I should at least post info to help others be forewarned.
Description of Work: Actually, the question should be what did the provider FAIL to do? He remodeled my home in 1999, two years before I purchased it in 2001. I knew nothing about John Sharp or Stonehenge until Nov. 2011, when my bathroom settled from foundation issues and we knocked out a wall in which papers and invoices from his remodeling job were stuffed in the walls. The contractors doing the demo work said they'd never seen anything this bad in their 40 years of business.

I agreed to a price of over $14,000. Responsiveness issues almost immediately. The professionalism of the whole company is an F, but David I liked. The owners I did not like. Their salesman that came out, Jeffrey Malatak, is listed as the owner also. I found them at a Home and Garden show. There were issues that I questions and Jeffrey assured me on all those points. He assured that David does these things , namely miter corners and build glass mosaic out to marble depth, all the time and he is very competent at it. The main product that was installed which was a marble laminate and it is thicker than the accent tile. I had issues with that. They also showed me a shower manifold made of copper which i wanted. When David came out to do the install, he viewed the mitering and tile depth issues as problematic, but would try. I was led to believe that my issues and requests would not be a problem, then it seemed there were. They demolished my bathroom, then said they could not get the marble slab. Advised that I go pick something else. I did not want to do this nor did i want to wait for the next shipment (2 weeks) without counter tops in my bathroom. Said the time frame would be a week for complete job with exception of shower glass, and they did not live up to this. Mosaic depth were said to be easily remedied, but they were not. Spoke with Michael Del Giudice, the other owner, about the failed job. Advised him that I would rather call it quits and would rather call someone else to complete the job. He became very upset and launched into loud rant. When I listed the things they fell short of doing, he asked did I have it in writing. While not denying that Jeffrey had promised me these things, his response was if I could not prove it, I was out of luck. If I did not continue, he would file a lien. I would not recommend them in a thousand years. David tried his best, but the issues with the slab that they should have had on hand when they started my job were too much. Apparently they are still not finished. I am still supposed to pay them $450 for a soap dish and unfinished grouting. Stay away, away, away!
