We have been without a kitchen since March 19th! MasterCraft's salesman said the work would take 5-7 days. It has taken over eight weeks. On Thursday the March 22nd MasterCraft said the cabinets were in and we were to pay all but a $1,000 balance, which we did. When the cabinets were delivered on March 23rd, all but 6 of them were not the right ones, and of the 6 only 4 of them were the right size. I asked for a refund until we received the correct cabinets. They declined and said that sincde we had a majority of the cabinets, they would not give us a refund. Since when is 4 out of 19 a majority. The cabinets were incorrect not because we made changes (as MasterCraft has stated) but because they ordered the wrong cabinets. Two of the cabinets that were ordered were the wrong size and would not fit. We were missing the oven cabinet, cabinets over the sink, oven, and refrigerator, two pantries, two three drawer cabinets with two deep drawers, one overhead cabinet. One of the cabinets delivered was an island and our kitchen is much too small to accommodate an island. When the installation manager and operations manager came out before ordering new cabinets, they said it was impossible to get the deep drawer cabinets and that they would order two 30inch cabinets with pull-out drawers. On Thursday 12th we finally received the new cabinets. However, the two 30" cabinets with pull-out drawers were not with the cabnets, and the pantries had no shelves. There was a five drawer cabinet with a narrow deep drawer. The crew came out and installed the new cabinets and the installaer found 30" cabinet from the wrong order and used it under the cooktop with the understanding that MasterCraft would install pull out drawers. Also, On March 9 I sent an e-mail to the operations manager asking if I should purchase a 30" or a 32" sink. I finally got her to answer her phone and she told me to purchase a 32" sink. I did so and sent her a copy of the order. The information she provided was incorrect because a 32" sink did not fit the space and we had to sent it back and purchase a 30" sink. Also, I sent on three separate occasions the specs for the oven cabinet. When the installers tried to put my new oven into the new cabinet, the oven cabinet was the wrong size. The installers said the would have to either modify the cabinet or purchase three new cabinets (the oven cabinet, and two smaller cabinets to the left). On the April 18th, the granite company came out to install the countertops. They could not because the new sink had not come in and the oven cabinet was wrong. MasterCraft was difficult to contact the following week. They finally called and said they would come out on Thursday the 26th to do the work. That morning I received a call saying the installers would not be at our home and that the operations manager would call us. She never called. I was given the number for the new installation manager. I sent him a list of things that needed to be done to finish the kitchen. On Friday, April 27th the new installation manager said he would be at our home between 8 and noon and he would call when he was on his way. He did not call nor did he show up. I e-mailed him to see where he was. He said he was busy moving his office and would be at our home on Monday. He did not show up on Monday either. MasterCraft also said they would send the installer on Monday to fix the oven cabinet so the granite and all the appliances (all this time we have been without a sink, dishwasher, oven and cooktop) could be installed. The installer called and said MasterCraft had assigned him elsewhere. I sent MasterCraft an e-mail explaining that there were exposed wires in our home, that our son is mentally disabled and the kitchen was unsafe for him and needed to be completed. Master Craft completely ignored us. I left several messages but none of my calls were returned. On Monday, May 7, we finally called an attorney to find out what we should do since we have been without a kitchen since March 19th. The attorney said we waited long enough to have this work completed and to hire someone else to do the job, which we did that day. When MasterCraft found out we had hired someone else (on Tuesday the new installer called the cabinetmaker and asked about pull out shelves and the cabinetmaker then contacted MasterCraft) MasterCraft's installation manager called us at 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning stating they would be out with the granite and shelves. Apparently the installation manager did not read my list because I had at the very top that the oven cabinet had to be modified before the granite could be installed. The attorney said to tell them not to come to our home, which we did. The only reason they contacted us was because they found out we had hired someone else to do the work. We are currently having the work done by another company, and it is almost finished. Hiring MasterCraft Builders was a nightmare. I will not use them again and recommend them to no one. The company that is currently doing to work it great, and I look forward giving them an A once the work is done.
Description of Work: Kitchen remodeling - the company was supposed to install new cabinets, granite countertops, etc. This is the worst company we have ever hired as remodelers. Hiring MasterCraft Builders was a nightmare. We recommend them to no one.
