BEWARE of this company!! I dropped a brand new Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ and cracked the screen. The display still worked, but the glass was broken. I sent emails to 4 different companies (not through Angie's List - don't know why I didn't use AL this time, but it was a big mistake) requesting a quote. It's a brand new phone, so I knew it would be expensive to fix. In every email I stated that it was a "Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+," and I even attached a picture of the phone so they could see exactly what was wrong. I received 3 quotes: $350, $299, $250. The lowest quote was from Dr. Cell Phone. Here is a copy of the exact message that I received: "The total cost on the repair is $249.99, this includes parts and labor. It?s also backed by a 90 day warranty! Most of the device we repair can be fixed on the same day. However, if we need to order the part/s to be installed it may take around 1 - 2 business days." Problem 1: When I arrived at the store and showed them the email containing the quote, they said: "Oh no, that is a mistake. We can't do it for that. That is a quote for a Samsung Galaxy, not a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge +". I said: "As you can see in the email, I said it was an S6 Edge+ and even included a picture of the exact phone." They said, "It was a mistake. We can't do it for that much, but we can do it for $316.62." The store slogan is "Same day repairs while you wait - we keep most parts in stock", so I figured the quote was no longer the lowest, but it wasn't the highest either, and I was in a hurry. It was nearing the close of the business day, so I gave them my phone expecting to receive it back the next day. This is a classic BAIT AND SWITCH SCAM! Problem 2: Nobody called the next day, so I called them the following day. They said "We had to order the part", so I said "When will it be in?". They said they didn't know, but they would call me as soon as they knew. What? Why would they have to order the part when they supposedly "keep most major brand parts in stock"? A Samsung Galaxy is not a rare model of phone. I believe only the Apple iPhone sells more, but they didn't have the part? Problem 3: By the SEVENTH day, I still never received a call, so I called them. They told me "We had to order the part from China, so it will be at least another two weeks before we get it." Why did they have to order it from China? And why has "1 - 2 business days" now turned into 3 to 4 weeks? Why wasn't I informed or asked and given the opportunity to take my business elsewhere? I immediately cancelled my order, and now I'm back to square one. This is a terrible company. Don't make the same mistake. Take the time to use Angie's List, even for something so seemingly simple as a phone repair.

Joel at the Hulen St location in Fort Worth quoted $78 for parts and labor and they could have it done in 2-3 days. A week had passed with no phone call - because they kept trying to call my cell they were repairing. Got in touch with the store only to find out that they discovered the frame was broken too and it would be another week until it came in. Two weeks later it was ready. I went to pick it up and the screen wasn't even attached to the frame and the power button wasn't accessible due to the poor assembly job. In order to fix it, they said they'd have to order another frame. Another week later, I went to pick it up. Some intelligent being had placed his thumb on the inside of my camera lens, leaving it permanently blurry as assembled. The frame was bent and glue was everywhere. Oh, and the speaker phone was compromised. They insisted that I actually owed $100 more dollars and that the $78 was just a deposit. I refused to pay because 1) I had not been quoted that price, and 2) my cell phone was now more damaged than when I brought it in for a cracked screen. BEST PART - Joel, the manager, told the staff on duty to try and physically get my phone back from me and told them to call the cops if I left with my phone. In all honesty, the whole situation was terrifying and sickly unprofessional.

Description of Work: Broke the screen on my I phone 5. It was shattered. The guys at Dr Cell Phone fixed it the same day for $139.99. Not cheap but it now works great. They recommended a new case because of glass shards in the old one. They didn't have what I wanted but sent me to a discount place and put it on for me.

I brought in my son's iPhone4, to the Frisco Dr Cell Phone location, because the battery would not charge and the phone would only show the little apple logo when plugged into the charger. When I brought it in the 1st time (1st of 3), they asked me if it had water damage. I said that it had not gotten wet enough to be damaged - about the same amount of water that a spray cleaner would get on it, was all that dripped on the screen - NO WHERE ELSE had the phone gotten wet. They replaced the battery and told me that the phone did show water damage. I couldn't believe that any water had even gotten into the phone to damage it, but could understand that maybe my 7 month old phone had a bad battery and wasn't holding a charge. They got it working but it took several hours to get the battery 1/4 of the way charged. It also had some foreign language now instead of English on it. He could not change the wallpaper to anything other than what was on it when we picked it up.I called back to them, and they told me to bring it back in and they would check to see if the new battery was bad too. 2 days later, we needed the phone and in working condition. I picked it up and they told me that they had to do a "factory reset" on it and it should be working, but he really would like to have another day to work on it, but it would work fine for my son who was going out of town. When he got back, I brought it back in because it never worked for my son, AGAIN!The technician told me that he had to do a "chemical soak" on it -TWICE! WHAT? That phone had hardly been used, had only dropplets of water that had gotten on it, and now all this?! I told them I needed it again, and was going to come pick it up. The technician said that I probably needed to take it to AT&T because it was more than likely a service provider error at this point. So over $100 later, I called AT&T - figuring that they were going to tell me to pound sand...... nothing could be done over the phone as I didn't have the phone with me at the time. Apple Warranty asked that I bring it into an Apple store. Fearful that I was going to be walking out of there shedding several hundred more because the phone had all of these issues now, I was so surprised and so happy that I hugged the clerk when they replaced it at no cost, as long as I promised to NEVER take it to an unauthorized APPLE repair store again! There are 4 water damage markers inside the phone, ALL 4 markers indicated water damage. He also said that more than likely, parts were stolen out of our phone so they could fix other iPhones.....or attempt to. I AM SO FURIOUS! They do not know what they are doing, you pay for them to screw your phone up and costing you more in the long run! ALSO, any work done to an Apple product other than by Apple technicians, IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY! Dr Cell Phone claims to NOT cover any of their work on Apple products either - it is on their receipts.
Description of Work: battery replaced - several times, factory resets, charging, 2 "chemical soaks"?, attempted to get the phone working and to stop showing the Apple logo only.

My daughter couldn't hear on her cell phone unless she used the speaker phone feature. We had taken the phone to T-Mobile and asked about the problem. T-Mobile claimed that they had never heard of this problem before. I did some research on the internet and figured out that it could be fixed. I had used Doctor Cell phone before to replace the screen on my husband's Dash (cost approximately $100.00 last year) and thought that they might be able to help with this problem. I called and was quoted $50.00 to replace the speaker on the phone. Since the phone is worth over $200.00 I figured that it would be well worth the $50.00 to have the phone fixed. When we arrived at the store, the price had gone up by $10.00. I'm sure that the receptionist had just asked two different people and got two different prices. I am not one to argue about pricing, and I needed the phone fixed. We left the phone with them. They called the next day and said that it was ready. We rushed over to pick it up. The phone seems to work perfectly.
