Brian and his staff were great to work with. Brian came out the day I contacted him and gave us an estimate on what we were wanting done. Not only did he give us an estimate but he also talked us thru the different options we had for our shower glass, told us what he has seen in the industry and the product would work in our application. He was very honest and up front about everything and it was absolutely great to work with him. Once we placed the order, it took very little time at all for Brian and his crew to come out and install the glass and mirror. The install took around a half a day and was done very professionally and orderly. I did not have to clean up a thing after the crew left, they were very detailed in their install and you couldn't even tell they were in the house other than the fantastic looking product that was installed. In a little over three weeks now, all of the products Braco Mirror and Glass has installed has performed flawlessly. My wife and I could not be happier with the way the shower enclosure turned out. I would definitely recommend Barco Mirror and Glass for any type of glass and mirror project you may have. They will definitely be my first call if I ever have any other needs.
Description of Work: Barco glass came out and installed 4-peices of glass into my nook cabinets, hung a larger master bathroom mirror, and finished off my master bath remodel with a 3-peice frameless shower glass enclosure.

The quality of the workmanship was very good, their prices are competitive and the work was done in a timely manner. We would use Barco again without hesitation.
Description of Work: We have used Barco over the past several years for mirrors, shower doors, glass fronts for cabinets, and glass tops for desks and cabinets. Their work has always been excellent and their service wonderful. The heavy glass door they fabricated for our master shower is beautiful and was well installed.

I got 3 pieces for $89. It was actually under the price quoted and so the price was nice. Some of my friends have used them. These guys did the work perfectly the very first time. We have nice and rounded edges. The opening has a rounded corner, which is weird. Everything was done perfectly. The glass is a really cool looking glass. It just went well the very first time. I would recommend them to others. They were very good. The price was good. They were very quick and it only took a couple of days. I don’t think they take credit cards and so I felt that it was odd to write a check. I would definitely use their services in the future too.

Shane came out to measure within a day or two of my call, and he gave us a quote on the spot for the alcove tub enclosures. He called the next day with a quote on the custom shower. He was very knowledgeable and gave us recommendations on our project, but was open to whatever special requests we had. We wanted a particular style on the towel bars on the alcove tub enclosures, and his standard suppliers did not have anything appropriate. We told him which manufacturer/style we wanted, and he let us know right away how miuch it would be and how long it would take to get in - an extra 2 days. We had 2 other quotes in a similar price range, but Barco's was a little lower, and we were impressed with Shane and the reports here on angieslist, so we went with Barco. It took 10 days for the shower enclosure to fabricated, and his team was out within a couple of days afterwards to install everything. They came out when he said they would and did a beautiful job.I especially love the shower enclosure. It's beautiful and is very sturdy - something I was a little concerned about with so much frameless glass, and with it being so tall. We plan to use Barco for all the custom mirrors for the bathrooms.
Description of Work: We bought a house and remodeled three bathrooms. We called Barco to give us a quote on the shower and tub enclosures. We had 2 alcove (3-sided walls) tubs and a custom shower-only. For the 2 alcove tubs, we wanted the semi-frameless by-pass doors with brushed nickel hardware. The master bath has a custom shower, for which we needed a completely custom frameless 7 ft high enclosure, also with brushed nickel hardware.

I was very happy with this company. They provided an immediate quote over the phone and the final price was about $200 less than the over-the-phone estimate. I was able to make a measurement appointment the next day. The person who came for the initial measurement was very knowledgeable and he actually discouraged me from spending extra on glass coatings. I also like that they did not "bait and switch" with cheap hardware, as the original quote included the best-quality hinges they offered. The final product was ready and installed in a little over a week. Two installers arrived on time and worked quickly but also carefully. The installers were professional and friendly. After about 4 months of use we are completely satisfied with the door. I should also point out that I originally planned to buy the door through an internet shower door site and install it myself. While it is hard to compare exactly, I believe that Barco was cheaper even with installation than anything I could find online.

I've been remodeling my master bath and when I was ready I stopped in at Barco Glass. They had been recommened to me by a variety of contractors, so I checked Angie's List. I worked with Brian thoughout the project. He came out and measured one day and the mirrors and shower door where ready to be installed within a week. When the crew came to install, there was a problem with the hinge placement. It landed right on a decorative strip on the shower wall and just didn't look right. The crew was accomodating and said they would take it back and re-make the door. The mirror installation went fine but after they left I noticed that the silicone caulk bead at the bottom of the mirror between the mirror and marble backsplash was a pretty sloppy job. The crew came back to install the new shower door. That went well and the door looks fantastic. I mentioned the poor caulk job. They cleaned it up somewhat but it should have been redone completely. Probably my mistake for not demanding it be redone but I was worried it would look worse, so I decided to live with it. I'd love to give Barco an A rating, but I can't do that given the missed measurement on the door hinge placement and the sub-par caulk job. I would have rated the experience a C, but Barco did do a great job on the shower door at the end of the day and gave me no grief about having to make a new door. Pics are attached.
Description of Work: Barco installed two mirrors over vanity areas (about 50" x 44" each) and a frameless shower door (33" x 76").

Overall I'm satisfied with the end result, but if it were the company's owner I'd want to know about some shortcomings of the installation experience. The installers were friendly and nice, but the shortcomings were as follows: 1. I had to point out to the installers that the double sided adhesive tape used to hold the bevel strips in place were visible. They pulled the strips off and reset them where they would no longer show. I feel they should have noticed that themselves and corrected it. 2. The carpeting remnants they use to protect my floors left a sea of crumbles behind. Not glass splinters, but crumbling carpet backing. I think they've used this same remnant forever and it's falling apart. I had to vacuum it up. 3. They cleaned up the mirrors nicely, but did not clean up the sink area/counter top. 4. The clear caulking used along the bottom strips were perfect on three mirrors but not on the fourth which I did not notice until a day later. After I called to point this out someone came out and replaced it. The price seems high but it was in line with what other companies were charging. I had chosen BARCO based on other reviews on Angie's List.

I got estimates from 3 companies and Barco was $300 - $400 less than the rest. They were very friendly and professional. They came out and gave me an estimate the day after I called them. They fabricated the enclosure in 4 days and installed it in about 3 hours (which is actually a little longer than the norm because my walls were a little warped). The final product looks great. I am really pleased.

I recently moved to Plano and the house I bought has a shower with glass shower doors that are missing the attached metal handles to slide them open and closed. Called these folks about buying or having them fabricate new ones (which Elliott's Hardware said was the usual procedure), and was nicely told that they did not sell only hardware but only would come out if I bought a whole new shower door from them. I asked the telephone receptionist if she knew anyone that might be able to help me and she gave me the name of two possibilities. My take on the experience is that they felt there was not enough profit to justify them coming out nor were they interested in selling me replacement parts. So, not people I would call again for anything.

This is our second project with Barco. Our first project went beautifully. Shane is the main guy who comes out and takes the measurments and information. He's easy to work with. The door and mirror were done in a VERY timely fashion. I said that I needed the mirror finished right away, and it was done and installed in just a few days. However, on this second shower door project, I wasn't as impressed at the fabrication quality as the first time we used Barco for the same thing. The panel was plumb and straight, but the door next to it was slightly "bowled" where it met with the panel, meaning that it pinched at the top and bottom by about 1/16" and didn't match the gap of about 1/8" in center all the way up and down. Your eye could definitely see this flaw, and I mentioned it to Shane on the phone. I got the excuse that their grinding wheel is responsible for that. I didn't appreciate his excuse about their machinery and insisted that it be fixed. Also my other glass door by them is perfect. I felt that he just didn't want to risk breaking and having to replace it in trying to polish it straight, but that's not the customer's problem. One chooses a glass company based on quality fabrication, installation, and customer service. Finally, he took it back and tried to re-polish it. It was better this time so we kept it. One hinge is slightly not plumb like the one below it, which can cause strain on the glass door, but we don't want to drill another hole in the tile to fix that. The mirror came out nicely, but they had to reposition the nails as the mirror was a bit off-center between two sconces. I like working with Barco and will probably use them again, but I would recommend that the installation crew take a little extra time making sure that things are absolutely plumb and that they measure twice (maybe 3 times) and drill and nail once because you can't go back. I do want to say that the installation guys did fix a small issue I was having with another shower door (not done by Barco) as a courtesy. They're nice guys - all of them.

To be honest, at first I wasn't very impressed with Barco because the secretary (or whoever answers the phone) told me that they did not service my area (Highland Village/Lewisville) even though Angie's List says that they are only 15 miles away. I called back bc I was sure this wasn't right. The 2nd time I called back (about 10 minutes later) and talked to the same woman, she said they did service us...confusing! She also later on when I did a follow up call to ask a quick question after we had signed a contract, said she'd take a message and hung up on me instead. I had to call the installation guys which luckily, gave me the owner's number. This lady is the reason why I gave the company a B for responsiveness and professionalism. Once that was all out of the way and we set up an appt, I was very pleased with Barco's owner, Shane. He was a very nice guy and seemed to really know what he was talking about. He is very experienced, friendly, and reasonable. My husband's a firefighter and was on shift when I met with Shane. He took the time to answer my questions and explain how he would custom cut our glass (our tile guy left a slight curve in our wall) and mount it securely. Overall, they did a great job and I would highly recommend them.

The people who installed the mirrors the first time did not do it correctly, they are huge and heavy and one fell from the wall and broke. Barko showed up and took care of everything for me, they replaced the glass in the one mirror and told me I should have them both re-hung to avoid a disaster should anyone or one of my pets be under it when the other one went. I am grateful for their service and highly recommend them.

The estimate was timely and accurate. The fabrication was quick, correct, and on time. The installation went without a hitch. The three large mirrors work great in the finished, tile set bathroom. Plus, the nightstand tops fit perfectly and look good. Their employees were professional and courteous from office to field. I'm very happy with their work.
