Thornton's Tree Service

I have used Thornton's Tree Services on several occasions over a period of 4-5 years. Each time the job is done to specifications & price determined in the initial estimate. They do the job quickly & efficiently with excellent clean-up. Won't hesitate to call them for the next tree trim or extraction.

The owner responded quickly to my call and came to my home the same day for an estimate. I am not accustomed to hiring a tree service so I can't compare his prices with another company's rates. Though high, the price seemed fair so we hired his company. They showed up as promised and did the work quickly. The quality of the work is where this company shines. The dead limbs and trees were removed and they cleaned up after themselves. They even removed some debris that was scattered in the area by the wind and disposed of that too. All in all, I would have to say that this is a great company. I think we made a great choice.

They did excellent work. They were very fast. They showed up with a full crew. They were timely and cleaned up everything. I would definitely use them again.

Provider was running a bit late and called to tell us he would be over shortly. They arrived within 5-10 min. and immediately told us their plan to bring down the tree. The owner stayed and removed branches himself as other workers cleaned up the debris. They were always courteous and worked constantly while they were here cleaning up and using the chipper/shredder. They went to lunch and returned to grind the stump and hauled off all logs. They completed the job, thoroughly cleaned up the mess and left the yard neat and clean.

They did a very good job and i have no complaints. I will definately be using them again in the future.

Jeff was professional and showed up on time which is wonderful. However, after speaking with 3 different tree trimmer's I was told he was trying to take advantage of me. I ended up going with another company and paid 60% less. I can't comment on Thorton's quality of work, but I wonder if it's more expensive because he said he sends out a team of workers to do each trimming and, as a result, has to pay more workers vs. other companies? Just a guess.

Thornton's Tree Service does a very professional job. They have a very good team and Mike Thornton makes sure his team is on board with what the owner wants. They work hard and have been doing this for many years. Their fee is competitive, plus they offer a 5% discount to Angie's members. Their experience shows in their quality of work. The tree canopies will be symmetrical and look very good upon completion. They will leave your yard clean and free of debris. You will not be disappointed.

Various jobs have always gone well. Mr. Thornton returns after crew has completed work to check it and review with me to see if work was done to my satisfaction.

Arrived at the time scheduled. Did a good job. Asked us to come outside and check results to be sure all work expected was completed.

Workers showed up on time, quickly got to work, cleaned up all trimmings and were on their way inside of one hour!

Mike Thornton was prompt. He always described in detail what he and his crew were estimating. He did the work in record time and cleaned up all the residue from the tree removal.

Mike Thornton came out with his crew; they were always on schedule and did a good job. They were careful about other plants and cleaned up well after the work was done.

Came early because we had to leave for another apt, explained what would happen and approximately how long it would take. Workers were very informative and well mannered. They took the time to explain about the service & the free life. These guys were really great. They even had their kids visit with my Sophia.

The job was performed very quickly and efficiently despite the hot weather and all cuttings were placed in their chipper for disposal.The price is a bit steep for an hour and a half of work but there were three men in this experienced crew and they did accept my Angie's List coupon.

They are not the lowest price but they are great on quality of work. They did the job fast, great and did what they said they would do. I highly reccomend them. I wouldn't call anyone else

I was pretty disappointed with the overall experience with Thornton's Tree Service. This really surprised me because I had used them a few years back and been very pleased with response time, punctuality and quality of work. However, this experience was a different story. I called Thornton's office and left a message I needed to speak with someone about trimming a couple of large trees. After approximately a week, I called the office again explaining I had left a message about needing some work done but had never heard back from anyone. The receptionist, again, took my name and phone number. I did receive a call from Mike Thornton fairly quickly after that. He, however, did not seem very interested in my business. I even felt like he was discouraging me from using his company by telling me it would be very expensive. None-the-less, we made an appointment for him to come out to give me an estimate. I had initially intended just to have Thornton's do the work on my trees because, as I said before, I had been very pleased with an earlier experience with them. However, after my conversation with Mike on the phone, I called several other contractors, making appointments for additional bids. Which, as it turns out, was a good thing. Mike didn't show for our appointment, nor did he call. Of course, I called the office, told the receptionist how disappointed I was. I received a call from Mike after that. He told me he had written down my address but not the phone number, so when he realized he would be unable to keep our appointment he had not been able to call me. We made another appointment. He showed up, gave me an extremely high bid (twice any other bid), I said, "Thank you very much" and hired someone else.

The owner arrived when he said he would Saturday morning to give a quote - he was very helpful and explained the best way to trim the tree. We quickly scheduled the service for the afternoon and the workers showed up as scheduled and worked very fast. They were also very good about being sure that the tree was done the way we wanted before cleaning up. They left the yard as clean as it was when they left and were very professional.

Overall, this entire experience with Thornton Tree Service was excellent and I would definitely recommend this company to just about anyone in need of tree trimming or yard work in general. Thank You, Norm Jones Abilene, TX

Everything went very well. They came out with all their equipment and crew at the scheduled time. They used precautions to protect the house, windows, sprinkler system and other landscaping. I could not believe how quickly they had the job done, including clean up! Very efficient and professional and they have the equipment to do large jobs like ours!

It went well. One person arrived and started with the removal of branches from the Pine tree. Then others started arriving and started with the removal of the dead tree in my back yard. Then more arrived to assist and get everything done. They contacted me and asked what needed to be done, and asked question to make sure they knew exactly what I wanted done. They were all very professional and dedicated to doing what I wanted done. When they were about finished they again asked me to look and make sure they had done everything I wanted done. They had missed on small root in a flower bed, and when I showed it to them, they took it out for me. They worked hard and did an Excellant job for me.
