We requested an estimate for the repair of our non-running vehicle, as well as for work to be performed to unlock the steering mechanism so the vehicle could be moved and/or towed. They called and advised that gas had evaporated in the gas tank, which would have to be replaced, as well as probable line, gasket, and other replacements. We requested that the locked steering be corrected. They did so at the quoted cost, as well as that for the work that had been done to check on the gas evaporation and damage. The work was completed within the time frame specified, and Pittman's Garage even let us keep the vehicle on the premises to await pickup by the people who would be owning, moving, and repairing the vehicle. We offered to pay them for the storage, but they would not accept payment. We feel they dealt with us very openly and honestly. Yes, we will use them again, as the need arises.

I have been using Pittman's for several years. A friend of mine in church choir recommended them in the beginning. We have lived in Abilene for more than 30 years and we had never found a satisfactory auto repair shop, until Pittman's. I cannot imagine a more friendly, trustworthy, skilled group. I am not sure how many are on their repair staff: 6-8 or so. They honor all prior appointments and they are also willing to and quot;work you inand quot; with an emergency. They always call me to let me know what problems they have found and approximately how much it will be to fix this issue(s). I have always gotten my vehicle back in the same day. What a great company.

Overall, great service and communication from the very beginning. They only completed the work that I had requested.

My daughter is going to school at Hardin Simmons University in Abilene. I live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. My daughter's car was making a and quot;funnyand quot; noise. She called and asked me where to take it. Being that I am not familiar with Abilene I had no idea what to tell her. My husband suggesting looking at Angie's List. What a great idea that was. I looked for repair shops in Abilene and read the reviews. I selected Pittman due in part to the coupon they offered. She took the car to Pittman's. They found the noise to be a rear wheel bearing. They called her within an hour or so of her dropping the car off with the quote and asking her if she wanted the work done. They had the car fixed in about an hour after that. The car was in the shop for less than four hours. She also had the oil changed. I am always worried that auto repair places try to take advantage of women. I get more concerned with her because she is so trusting and so young looking, she looks like she is 12. What they said was wrong sounded dead on right to me. (I am more versed on cars that the average person.) They treated her very professionally and polietly. She had a coupon from Angie's List. They told her that the student discount was better and gave her the better deal. I is very comforting to know that there is someone there in Abilene that I feel that I can trust. She still has 3.5 more years there and I am pretty sure she will need more car repair. She will continue to go to Pittman's for any repairs she needs. I do not know if the price was fair or not, I don't live in Abilene and have no idea what prices are there.

They gave me a price range of $550 -$750 for the job and they came right in between for the job. They also adjusted my AC system so it is actually working better than what it was and they did it for free with the O-ring replacement. They were really pleasant and friendly to work with. They sent me a thank you note as well. I have only used them once but other mechanics and friends in the area recommended them and they have top ratings on Angie's List. I would not be afraid to try them out and I would definitely do business with them again in the future to have stuff done on my vehicles.

Honest, competent service. We will continue to use them for all of our auto repair needs.

They are excellent. It is hard to find an honest mechanic--these guys are. They thoroughly explain the problem and recommend a fix. They always call if they find another problem. They stand behind their work 100%.
